Philippians 2
1 If therefore there is any exhortation in Messiah, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassion,
若幾許のキリストに於る勧、幾許の愛に由る慰、幾許の聖霊の交、幾許の憫の腸あらば、
2 make my joy full by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind;
汝等我喜を満たせよ。即ち心を同じうし、愛を同じうし、同心同意にして、
3 doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself;
何事も党派心、虚榮心の為にせず、謙遜して互に人を己に優れる者と思ひ、
4 each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.
各己が事のみを顧みずして他人の事を顧みよ。
5 Have this in your mind, which was also in Messiah Yeshua,
汝等志す事はキリスト、イエズスの如くなれ、
6 who, existing in the form of God, didn’t consider equality with God a thing to be grasped,
即ち彼は神の貎に在して神と並ぶ事を盗とは思ひ給はざりしも、
7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.
己を無きものとして奴隷の貎を取り、人に似たる物と成り、外貌に於て人の如くに見え、
8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, yes, the death of the cross.
自ら謙りて、死、而も十字架上の死に至るまで、從へる者となり給ひしなり。
9 Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name,
是故に神も亦之を最上に挙げて、賜ふに一切の名に優れる名を以てし給へり、
10 that at the name of Yeshua every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth,
即ちイエズスの御名に對しては、天上のもの、地上のもの、地獄のもの、悉く膝を屈むべく、 (questioned)
11 and that every tongue should confess that Yeshua the Messiah is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
又凡ての舌は父にて在す神の光榮の為に、イエズス、キリストの主に在せる事を公言すべし。
12 So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
然れば我至愛なる者よ、汝等が常に從ひし如く、我面前に在る時のみならず、今不在の時に當りても、一層懼慄きつつ己が救霊を全うせよ、
13 For it is God who works in you both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
其は志す事と為遂ぐる事とは、神が御好意を以て汝等の中に為さしめ給ふ所なればなり。
14 Do all things without complaining and arguing,
汝等呟く事なく争ふ事なく、一切の事を行へ、
15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without defect in the middle of a crooked and perverse generation, amongst whom you are seen as lights in the world,
是汝等が惡く且邪なる代に在りて、咎むべき所なく、神の純粋なる子兒として、科なき者とならん為なり。汝等は斯る人々の間に、世界に於る星の如く光りて、
16 holding up the word of life, that I may have something to boast in the day of Messiah that I didn’t run in vain nor labour in vain.
生命の言を保てり、斯て我が走りし事の空しからず、勞せし事の空しからずして、キリストの日に於て我名誉と成るべし。
17 Yes, and if I am poured out on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.
假令汝等の信仰の供物と祭との上に、我が[血は]濯がるるも、我は之を喜びて汝等一同と共に之を祝す、
18 In the same way, you also should be glad and rejoice with me.
汝等も之を喜びて我と共に祝賀せよ。
19 But I hope in the Lord Yeshua to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered up when I know how you are doing.
第三項 パウロ、フィリッピに遣さんとする人々を賞賛す 我も汝等の事を知りて心を安んぜん為、速にチモテオを汝等に遣はさん事を、主イエズスに於て希望す。
20 For I have no one else like-minded, who will truly care about you.
其は斯くまで我と同心して、眞心を以て汝等の為に慮る人、復外に在らざればなり。
21 For they all seek their own, not the things of Yeshua the Messiah.
蓋人は皆イエズス、キリストの事を求めず、己が事を求む、
22 But you know that he has proved himself. As a child serves a father, so he served with me in furtherance of the Good News.
と雖も、彼が福音の為に、子の父に於る如く我と共に努めたるは、汝等が其證を知れる所なり。
23 Therefore I hope to send him at once, as soon as I see how it will go with me.
然れば我身上の成行を見ば、直に彼を汝等に遣はさん事を期せり。
24 But I trust in the Lord that I myself also will come shortly.
我自らも亦程なく汝等に至るべき事を、主に於て信頼す。
25 But I thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker, fellow soldier, and your emissary and servant of my need,
然れど我思ふに、汝等より遣はされて我が要する所を供せし我兄弟にして協力者たり戰友たるエパフロヂトを汝等に遣はさざるべからず。
26 since he longed for you all, and was very troubled because you had heard that he was sick.
蓋彼は汝等一同を戀慕ひ、其病める由の汝等に聞えしとて憂ひ居たりしなり。
27 For indeed he was sick nearly to death, but God had mercy on him, and not on him only, but on me also, that I might not have sorrow on sorrow.
實に彼は病に罹りて、死ぬばかりに成りたれど、神は彼を憫み給ひ、啻に彼のみならず、我悲の上に又悲の重らざる様、我をも憫み給へり。
28 I have sent him therefore the more diligently, that when you see him again, you may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.
此故に彼を見る事によりて、更に汝等を喜ばせ、我憂をも減ぜん為に、一層早く彼を遣はせるなり。
29 Receive him therefore in the Lord with all joy, and hold such people in honour,
然れば汝等主に於て厚く彼を歓迎し、鄭重に斯る人物を待遇せよ、
30 because for the work of Messiah he came near to death, risking his life to supply that which was lacking in your service towards me.
其は彼、我を扶けて汝等の缺けたる所を補はんと、キリストの事業の為に生命を投じて死を犯したればなり。
