< Psalms 17 >

1 A Prayer by David. Hear, LORD, my righteous plea. Give ear to my prayer that doesn’t go out of deceitful lips.
Kadhannaa Daawit. Yaa Waaqayyo, iyyata ani murtii qajeelaaf iyyadhu dhagaʼi; booʼicha koos dhaggeeffadhu. Kadhannaa koo kan afaan nama hin gowwoomsine keessaa baʼuufis gurra kenni.
2 Let my sentence come out of your presence. Let your eyes look on equity.
Murtiin koo si biraa haa dhufu; iji kees waan qajeelaa haa argu.
3 You have proved my heart. You have visited me in the night. You have tried me, and found nothing. I have resolved that my mouth shall not disobey.
Ati yoo garaa koo qorte, halkaniinis yoo na ilaalte, yoo na sakattaates, homaa narratti hin argattu; ani akka afaan koo cubbuu hin hojjenneef kutadheeraatii.
4 As for the deeds of men, by the word of your lips, I have kept myself from the ways of the violent.
Waaʼee hojii namootaa immoo ani dubbii afaan keetiitiin karaa gooltotaa irraa of eeggadheera.
5 My steps have held fast to your paths. My feet have not slipped.
Tarkaanfiin koo karaa kee irratti cimeera; miilli koos hin mucucaanne.
6 I have called on you, for you will answer me, God. Turn your ear to me. Hear my speech.
Yaa Waaqi, waan ati deebii naa kennituuf ani sin waammadha; gurra kee gara kootti qabiitii kadhannaa koo dhagaʼi.
7 Show your marvellous loving kindness, you who save those who take refuge by your right hand from their enemies.
Yaa isa warra diinota isaanii jalaa sitti baqatan harka kee mirgaatiin oolchitu, ati jaalala kee isa hin geeddaramne sana haala dinqisiisaadhaan argisiisi.
8 Keep me as the apple of your eye. Hide me under the shadow of your wings,
Akka agartuu ija keetiitti na eegi; gaaddidduu qoochoo keetiitiinis na dhoksi;
9 from the wicked who oppress me, my deadly enemies, who surround me.
hamoota na dhiphisan jalaa, diinota na ajjeesuuf na marsan jalaa na baasi.
10 They close up their callous hearts. With their mouth they speak proudly.
Isaan garaa isaanii kan namaa hin naane sana ni guduunfu; afaan isaaniis of tuulummaadhaan dubbata.
11 They have now surrounded us in our steps. They set their eyes to cast us down to the earth.
Isaan faana na dhaʼu; ammas na marsaniiru; lafaan na dhaʼuudhaafis ija babaasu.
12 He is like a lion that is greedy of his prey, as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.
Isaan akka leenca waa kukkutachuu kajeeluu ti; akka leenca guddaa riphee waa gaaduu ti.
13 Arise, LORD, confront him. Cast him down. Deliver my soul from the wicked by your sword,
Yaa Waaqayyo kaʼi; itti baʼiitii isaan kuffisi; goraadee keetiinis hamoota jalaa na baasi.
14 from men by your hand, LORD, from men of the world, whose portion is in this life. You fill the belly of your cherished ones. Your sons have plenty, and they store up wealth for their children.
Yaa Waaqayyo, namoota akkanaa jalaa, namoota addunyaa kanaa warra qoodni isaanii jireenyuma ammaa taʼe jalaa harka keetiin na baraari. Garaan isaanii waan ati isaaniif kuufte haa quufu; ijoolleen isaaniis akka malee haa quufan; isaanis waan isaan irraa hafe daaʼimman isaaniitiif haa kaaʼan.
15 As for me, I shall see your face in righteousness. I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with seeing your form.
Ani garuu qajeelummaadhaan fuula kee nan arga; yommuun dammaquttis ani ulfina kee arguudhaan nan quufa.
