Revelation 8
1 When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
小羊が第七の封印を解いたとき、天に半時間ばかり静けさがあった。
2 I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven shofars were given to them.
それから私は、神の御前に立つ七人の御使いを見た。彼らに七つのラッパが与えられた。
3 Another angel came and stood over the altar, having a golden censer. Much incense was given to him, that he should add it to the prayers of all the holy ones on the golden altar which was before the throne.
また、もうひとりの御使いが出て来て、金の香炉を持って祭壇のところに立った。彼にたくさんの香が与えられた。すべての聖徒の祈りとともに、御座の前にある金の祭壇の上にささげるためであった。
4 The smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the holy ones, went up before God out of the angel’s hand.
香の煙は、聖徒たちの祈りとともに、御使いの手から神の御前に立ち上った。
5 The angel took the censer, and he filled it with the fire of the altar, then threw it on the earth. Thunders, sounds, lightnings, and an earthquake followed.
それから、御使いは、その香炉を取り、祭壇の火でそれを満たしてから、地に投げつけた。すると、雷鳴と声といなずまと地震が起こった。
6 The seven angels who had the seven shofars prepared themselves to sound.
すると、七つのラッパを持っていた七人の御使いはラッパを吹く用意をした。
7 The first sounded, and there followed hail and fire, mixed with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. One third of the earth was burnt up, and one third of the trees were burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
第一の御使いがラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、血の混じった雹と火とが現われ、地上に投げられた。そして地上の三分の一が焼け、木の三分の一も焼け、青草が全部焼けてしまった。
8 The second angel sounded, and something like a great burning mountain was thrown into the sea. One third of the sea became blood,
第二の御使いがラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、火の燃えている大きな山のようなものが、海に投げ込まれた。そして海の三分の一が血となった。
9 and one third of the living creatures which were in the sea died. One third of the ships were destroyed.
すると、海の中にいた、いのちのあるものの三分の一が死に、舟の三分の一も打ちこわされた。
10 The third angel sounded, and a great star fell from the sky, burning like a torch, and it fell on one third of the rivers, and on the springs of water.
第三の御使いがラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、たいまつのように燃えている大きな星が天から落ちて来て、川々の三分の一とその水源に落ちた。
11 The name of the star is “Wormwood.” One third of the waters became wormwood. Many people died from the waters, because they were made bitter.
この星の名は苦よもぎと呼ばれ、川の水の三分の一は苦よもぎのようになった。水が苦くなったので、その水のために多くの人が死んだ。
12 The fourth angel sounded, and one third of the sun was struck, and one third of the moon, and one third of the stars, so that one third of them would be darkened; and the day wouldn’t shine for one third of it, and the night in the same way.
第四の御使いがラッパを吹き鳴らした。すると、太陽の三分の一と、月の三分の一と、星の三分の一とが打たれたので、三分の一は暗くなり、昼の三分の一は光を失い、また夜も同様であった。
13 I saw, and I heard an eagle, flying in mid heaven, saying with a loud voice, “Woe! Woe! Woe to those who dwell on the earth, because of the other blasts of the shofars of the three angels, who are yet to sound!”
また私は見た。一羽のわしが中天を飛びながら、大声で言うのを聞いた。「わざわいが来る。わざわいが、わざわいが来る。地に住む人々に。あと三人の御使いがラッパを吹き鳴らそうとしている。」
