< Proverbs 19 >

1 Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than he who is perverse in his lips and is a fool.
Ndi wabwino munthu wosauka amene amayenda mu ungwiro, aposa munthu wopusa woyankhula zokhota.
2 It isn’t good to have zeal without knowledge, nor being hasty with one’s feet and missing the way.
Si bwino kuti munthu akhale wopanda nzeru; ndipo munthu woyenda mofulumira amaphonya njira.
3 The foolishness of man subverts his way; his heart rages against the LORD.
Uchitsiru wa munthu umamubweretsera zovuta, mtima wake umakwiyira Yehova.
4 Wealth adds many friends, but the poor is separated from his friend.
Chuma chimachulukitsa abwenzi; koma munthu wosauka bwenzi lake limamuthawa.
5 A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who pours out lies shall not go free.
Mboni yonama sidzalephera kulangidwa; ndipo iye amene amanena mabodza sadzapulumuka.
6 Many will entreat the favor of a ruler, and everyone is a friend to a man who gives gifts.
Anthu ambiri amafuna munthu wopatsa kuti awakomere mtima, ndipo munthu amene amapereka mphatso ndi bwenzi la munthu aliyense.
7 All the relatives of the poor shun him; how much more do his friends avoid him! He pursues them with pleas, but they are gone.
Ngati munthu wosauka abale ake omwe amadana naye, nanji abwenzi ake tsono! Iwo adzamuthawa kupita kutali. Amayesa kuwatsatira mowapembedza koma iwo samapezeka konse.
8 He who gets wisdom loves his own soul. He who keeps understanding shall find good.
Iye amene amapeza nzeru ndiye kuti amakonda moyo wake. Wosamalitsa kukhala wanzeru, zinthu zimamuyendera bwino.
9 A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who utters lies shall perish.
Mboni yonama sidzalephera kulangidwa, ndipo iye amene amanena mabodza adzawonongeka.
10 Delicate living is not appropriate for a fool, much less for a servant to have rule over princes.
Nʼkosayenera kuti chitsiru chizikhala ndi moyo wamanyado, nanjinso kuti kapolo azilamulira akalonga!
11 The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger. It is his glory to overlook an offense.
Nzeru zimapangitsa munthu kukhala wosakwiya msanga; ulemerero wake uli posalabadira kuchitiridwa zoyipa.
12 The king’s wrath is like the roaring of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.
Mkwiyo wa mfumu uli ngati kubangula kwa mkango, koma kukoma mtima kwake kuli ngati mame pa udzu.
13 A foolish son is the calamity of his father. A wife’s quarrels are a continual dripping.
Mwana wopusa ndiye tsoka la abambo ake ndipo mkazi wolongolola ndi wotopetsa ngati mvula yamvumbi.
14 House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the LORD.
Nyumba ndi chuma ndiye cholowa chochokera kwa makolo; koma mkazi wanzeru ndi wochokera kwa Yehova.
15 Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep. The idle soul shall suffer hunger.
Ulesi umagonetsa tulo tofa nato ndipo munthu wosatakataka amakhala ndi njala.
16 He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, but he who is contemptuous in his ways shall die.
Amene amamvera malangizo amasunga moyo wake, koma amene sasamala malamulo a Yehova adzafa.
17 He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD; he will reward him.
Amene amakomera mtima osauka amachita ngati wakongoletsa Yehova, ndipo Yehovayo ndiye adzamubwezere.
18 Discipline your son, for there is hope; don’t be a willing party to his death.
Langa mwana wako, chiyembekezo chikanalipo; ngati sutero udzawononga moyo wake.
19 A hot-tempered man must pay the penalty, for if you rescue him, you must do it again.
Munthu waukali woopsa ayenera kulandira chilango; pakuti akamulekelera ndiye zidzayipa kuposa kale.
20 Listen to counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter end.
Mvera uphungu ndipo landira malangizo; pa mapeto pake udzakhala wanzeru.
21 There are many plans in a man’s heart, but the LORD’s counsel will prevail.
Munthu amakonzekera zambiri mu mtima mwake, koma cholinga cha Yehova ndiye chidzachitike.
22 That which makes a man to be desired is his kindness. A poor man is better than a liar.
Chimene munthu amafuna ndi chikondi chosatha; nʼkwabwino kukhala wosauka kusiyana ndi kukhala wabodza.
23 The fear of the LORD leads to life, then contentment; he rests and will not be touched by trouble.
Kuopa Yehova kumabweretsa moyo; wotereyo amakhala mu mtendere; ndiye kuti choyipa sichidzamugwera.
24 The sluggard buries his hand in the dish; he will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
Munthu waulesi amapisa dzanja lake mʼmbale; koma sangathe kufikitsa dzanja lakelo pakamwa pake.
25 Flog a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence; rebuke one who has understanding, and he will gain knowledge.
Menya munthu wonyoza, ndipo anthu opanda nzeru adzachenjererapo; dzudzula munthu wozindikira zinthu, ndipo iye adzapezapo chidziwitso.
26 He who robs his father and drives away his mother is a son who causes shame and brings reproach.
Mwana wochita ndewu ndi abambo ake ndi kuthamangitsa amayi ake, ndi mwana wochititsa manyazi ndi wonyozetsa.
27 If you stop listening to instruction, my son, you will stray from the words of knowledge.
Mwana wanga, ukaleka kumvera malangizo, udzapatukana ndi mawu opatsa nzeru.
28 A corrupt witness mocks justice, and the mouth of the wicked gulps down iniquity.
Mboni yopanda pake imanyoza cholungama, ndipo pakamwa pa anthu oyipa pamameza zoyipa.
29 Penalties are prepared for scoffers, and beatings for the backs of fools.
Chilango chakonzedwa kale kuti chigwere anthu oyipa, ndipo mkwapulo wakonzedwa kale kuti ukwapule misana ya anthu opusa.
