< Psalms 30 >
1 The salm of song, for the halewyng of the hows of Dauid. Lord, Y schal enhaunse thee, for thou hast vp take me; and thou delitidist not myn enemyes on me.
Een psalm. Een lied der tempelwijding. Van David. Ik wil U prijzen, o Jahweh; want Gij trokt mij omhoog, Opdat mijn vijanden niet over mij juichen.
2 Mi Lord God, Y criede to thee; and thou madist me hool.
Ik riep tot U: "O Jahweh, mijn God!" En Gij hebt mij genezen, o Jahweh!
3 Lord, thou leddist out my soule fro helle; thou sauedist me fro hem that goen doun into the lake. (Sheol )
(Sheol )
4 Ye seyntis of the Lord, synge to the Lord; and knowleche ye to the mynde of his hoolynesse.
5 For ire is in his indignacioun; and lijf is in his wille. Wepyng schal dwelle at euentid; and gladnesse at the morewtid.
6 Forsothe Y seide in my plentee; Y schal not be moued with outen ende.
In zelfgenoegzaamheid had ik gezegd: "Nooit zal ik wankelen!"
7 Lord, in thi wille; thou hast youe vertu to my fairnesse. Thou turnedist awei thi face fro me; and Y am maad disturblid.
Neen, Jahweh, door uw goedheid alleen Hadt Gij kracht verleend aan mijn geest; Maar nauwelijks hadt Gij uw aanschijn verborgen, Of plotseling zonk ik ineen!
8 Lord, Y schal crye to thee; and Y schal preye to my God.
9 What profit is in my blood; while Y go doun in to corrupcioun? Whether dust schal knouleche to thee; ethir schal telle thi treuthe?
"Wat kan mijn verstomming U baten, En dat ik zink in het graf; Kan het stof U soms loven, En uw trouw nog verkonden?"
10 The Lord herde, and hadde merci on me; the Lord is maad myn helpere.
11 Thou hast turned my weilyng in to ioye to me; thou hast to-rent my sak, and hast cumpassid me with gladnesse.
Gij hebt mijn gejammer in een reidans veranderd, Mijn rouwkleed verscheurd, met vreugd mij omgord:
12 That my glorie synge to thee, and Y be not compunct; my Lord God, Y schal knouleche to thee with outen ende.
Opdat mijn geest U zou prijzen, en nooit meer zou zwijgen, U eeuwig zou loven, o Jahweh, mijn God!
