Psalms 83

1 The song of the salm of Asaph. God, who schal be lijk thee? God, be thou not stille, nether be thou peesid.

Ein Lied, ein Psalm Asaphs. Gott sei dir nicht stille, schweige nicht, raste nicht, o Gott!

2 For lo! thin enemyes sowneden; and thei that haten thee reisiden the heed.

Denn siehe, Deine Feinde toben; und das Haupt erheben, die Dich hassen.

3 Thei maden a wickid counsel on thi puple; and thei thouyten ayens thi seyntis.

Wider Dein Volk handeln sie insgeheim mit Arglist, und ratschlagen wider die, so Du verdeckst.

4 Thei seiden, Come ye, and leese we hem fro the folk; and the name of Israel be no more hadde in mynde.

Sie sagen: Kommt, wir schaffen sie weg, daß sie keine Völkerschaft mehr sind, und des Namens Israels nicht mehr gedacht werde.

5 For thei thouyten with oon acord;

Denn sie ratschlagen miteinander im Herzen und schließen wider Dich einen Bund,

6 the tabernaclis of Ydumeys, and men of Ismael disposiden a testament togidere ayens thee. Moab, and Agarenus, Jebal, and Amon, and Amalech;

Die Zelte Edoms und die Ismaeliter, Moab und die Hagriter,

7 alienys with hem that dwellen in Tyre.

Gebal und Ammon und Amalek, Philistäa mit denen, die in Tyrus wohnen;

8 For Assur cometh with hem; thei ben maad in to help to the sones of Loth.

Auch Assur hängt ihnen an, ein Arm sind sie den Söhnen Lots. (Selah)

9 Make thou to hem as to Madian, and Sisara; as to Jabyn in the stronde of Sison.

Tue ihnen, wie Midjan, wie dem Sisera, wie Jabin im Bachtal Kischon.

10 Thei perischiden in Endor; thei weren maad as a toord of erthe.

Sie wurden in Endor vernichtet, wurden zum Dünger auf dem Boden.

11 Putte thou the prynces of hem as Oreb and Zeb; and Zebee and Salmana. Alle the princis of hem, that seiden;

Mache ihre Edlen wie Oreb und wie Seeb, und wie Sebach und wie Zalmunna, alle ihre Gesalbten;

12 Holde we bi eritage the seyntuarie of God.

Sie, die da sagen: Lasset uns einnehmen für uns Gottes Wohnplätze.

13 My God, putte thou hem as a whele; and as stobil bifor the face of the wynde.

Mache sie, mein Gott, wie Wirbelstaub, wie Spreu vor dem Winde;

14 As fier that brenneth a wode; and as flawme brynnynge hillis.

Wie Feuer den Wald verbrennt, und wie die Flamme, die Berge entflammt,

15 So thou schalt pursue hem in thi tempeste; and thou schalt disturble hem in thin ire.

So setze ihnen nach mit Deinem Wetter, und mit Deinem Sturmwind mache sie bestürzt.

16 Lord, fille thou the faces of hem with schenschipe; and thei schulen seke thi name.

Fülle ihr Gesicht mit Unehre, und lasse sie, Jehovah, Deinen Namen suchen.

17 Be thei aschamed, and be thei disturblid in to world of world; and be thei schent and perische thei.

Lasse sie beschämt und bestürzt werden fort und fort, und lasse sie erröten und vergehen.

18 And knowe thei, that the Lord is name to thee; thou aloone art the hiyeste in ech lond.

Und sie sollen erkennen, daß Du, Dein Name, Jehovah, allein der Allerhöchste bist auf der ganzen Erde.
