Psalms 61

1 To the Overseer, on stringed instruments. — By David. Hear, O God, my loud cry, attend to my prayer.

Psaume de David, [donné] au maître chantre, [pour le chanter] sur Néguinoth. Ô Dieu écoute mon cri, sois attentif à ma requête.

2 From the end of the land unto Thee I call, In the feebleness of my heart, Into a rock higher than I Thou dost lead me.

Je crierai à toi du bout de la terre, lorsque mon cœur se pâme; conduis-moi sur cette roche, qui est trop haute pour moi.

3 For Thou hast been a refuge for me, A tower of strength because of the enemy.

Car tu m'as été pour retraite, et pour une forte tour au-devant de l'ennemi.

4 I sojourn in Thy tent to the ages, I trust in the secret place of Thy wings. (Selah)

Je séjournerai dans ton Tabernacle durant un long temps; je me retirerai sous l'ombre de tes ailes; (Sélah)

5 For Thou, O God, hast hearkened to my vows, Thou hast appointed the inheritance Of those fearing Thy name.

Car tu as, ô Dieu! exaucé mes vœux, [et tu m'as] donné l'héritage de ceux qui craignent ton Nom.

6 Days to the days of the king Thou addest, His years as generation and generation.

Tu ajouteras des jours aux jours du Roi; [et] ses années seront comme plusieurs âges.

7 He dwelleth to the age before God, Kindness and truth appoint — they keep him.

Il demeurera [à] toujours en la présence de Dieu; que la gratuité et la vérité le gardent!

8 So do I praise Thy name for ever, When I pay my vows day by day!

Ainsi je psalmodierai ton Nom à perpétuité, en [te] rendant mes vœux chaque jour.
