1 Korinttilaisille 2

1 Niinpä, kun minä tulin teidän tykönne, veljet, en tullut puheen tai viisauden loistolla teille Jumalan todistusta julistamaan.

And I, when I came among you, brethren, came not with excellency of language, or of human wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God:

2 Sillä minä olin päättänyt olla teidän tykönänne tuntematta mitään muuta paitsi Jeesuksen Kristuksen, ja hänet ristiinnaulittuna.

for I did not think it meet to know any thing among you, but Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.

3 Ja ollessani teidän tykönänne minä olin heikkouden vallassa ja pelossa ja suuressa vavistuksessa,

And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

4 ja minun puheeni ja saarnani ei ollut kiehtovia viisauden sanoja, vaan Hengen ja voiman osoittamista,

And my discourse, and my preaching was not with the persuasive words of human wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power;

5 ettei teidän uskonne perustuisi ihmisten viisauteen, vaan Jumalan voimaan.

that your faith might not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

6 Kuitenkin me puhumme viisautta täydellisten seurassa, mutta emme tämän maailman viisautta emmekä tämän maailman valtiasten, jotka kukistuvat, (aiōn g165)

Yet we speak true wisdom among the perfect: though not the wisdom of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who come to nought. (aiōn g165)

7 vaan me puhumme salattua Jumalan viisautta, sitä kätkettyä, jonka Jumala on edeltämäärännyt ennen maailmanaikoja meidän kirkkaudeksemme, (aiōn g165)

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, that hidden wisdom which God ordained before the worlds for our glory: (aiōn g165)

8 sitä, jota ei kukaan tämän maailman valtiaista ole tuntenut-sillä jos he olisivat sen tunteneet, eivät he olisi kirkkauden Herraa ristiinnaulinneet- (aiōn g165)

which none of the rulers of this age knew; for if they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. (aiōn g165)

9 vaan, niinkuin kirjoitettu on: "mitä silmä ei ole nähnyt eikä korva kuullut, mikä ei ole ihmisen sydämeen noussut ja minkä Jumala on valmistanut niille, jotka häntä rakastavat".

But as it is written, "Eye hath not seen, and ear hath not heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, what things God hath prepared for those that love Him."

10 Mutta meille Jumala on sen ilmoittanut Henkensä kautta, sillä Henki tutkii kaikki, Jumalan syvyydetkin.

But God hath revealed them to us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, even the deep things of God.

11 Sillä kuka ihminen tietää, mitä ihmisessä on, paitsi ihmisen henki, joka hänessä on? Samoin ei myös kukaan tiedä, mitä Jumalassa on, paitsi Jumalan Henki.

For who among men knoweth the things of a man, but the spirit of a man which is in him? so also the things of God no one knoweth, but the Spirit of God.

12 Mutta me emme ole saaneet maailman henkeä, vaan sen Hengen, joka on Jumalasta, että tietäisimme, mitä Jumala on meille lahjoittanut;

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit of God; that we might know the things that are graciously bestowed upon us by God:

13 ja siitä me myös puhumme, emme inhimillisen viisauden opettamilla sanoilla, vaan Hengen opettamilla, selittäen hengelliset hengellisesti.

which we also speak of, not in words dictated by human wisdom, but in those which are dictated by the holy Spirit; explaining spiritual things by spiritual words.

14 Mutta luonnollinen ihminen ei ota vastaan sitä, mikä Jumalan Hengen on; sillä se on hänelle hullutus, eikä hän voi sitä ymmärtää, koska se on tutkisteltava hengellisesti.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

15 Hengellinen ihminen sitä vastoin tutkistelee kaiken, mutta häntä itseään ei kukaan kykene tutkistelemaan.

Whereas the spiritual man discerneth all things, yet is himself discerned by no one.

16 Sillä: "kuka on tullut tuntemaan Herran mielen, niin että voisi neuvoa häntä?" Mutta meillä on Kristuksen mieli.

For who hath known the mind of the Lord, to instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
