Matteuksen 22
1 Ja Jeesus rupesi taas puhumaan heille vertauksilla ja sanoi:
Yeshua [Salvation] answered and spoke again in parables to them, saying,
2 "Taivasten valtakunta on verrattava kuninkaaseen, joka laittoi häät pojallensa.
“The Kingdom of Heaven (God) is like a certain king, who made a marriage feast for his son,
3 Ja hän lähetti palvelijansa kutsumaan häihin kutsuvieraita, mutta nämä eivät tahtoneet tulla.
and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the marriage feast, but they would not come.
4 Vielä hän lähetti toisia palvelijoita lausuen: 'Sanokaa kutsutuille: Katso, minä olen valmistanut ateriani, minun härkäni ja syöttilääni ovat teurastetut, ja kaikki on valmiina; tulkaa häihin'.
Again he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner. My cattle and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the marriage feast!”’
5 Mutta he eivät siitä välittäneet, vaan menivät pois, mikä pellolleen, mikä kaupoilleen;
But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise,
6 ja toiset ottivat kiinni hänen palvelijansa, pitelivät pahoin ja tappoivat.
and the rest grabbed his servants, and treated them shamefully, and killed them.
7 Mutta kuningas vihastui ja lähetti sotajoukkonsa ja tuhosi nuo murhamiehet ja poltti heidän kaupunkinsa.
When the king heard that, he was angry, and sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.
8 Sitten hän sanoi palvelijoillensa: 'Häät ovat valmistetut, mutta kutsutut eivät olleet arvollisia.
“Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.
9 Menkää siis teiden risteyksiin ja kutsukaa häihin, keitä tapaatte.'
Go therefore to the intersections of the highways, and as many as you may find, invite to the marriage feast.’
10 Ja palvelijat menivät ulos teille ja kokosivat kaikki, keitä vain tapasivat, sekä pahat että hyvät, ja häähuone tuli täyteen pöytävieraita.
Those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together as many as they found, both bad and good. The wedding was filled with guests.
11 Mutta kun kuningas meni katsomaan pöytävieraita, näki hän siellä miehen, joka ei ollut puettu häävaatteisiin.
But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who didn’t have on wedding clothing,
12 Ja hän sanoi hänelle: 'Ystävä, kuinka sinä olet tullut tänne sisälle, vaikka sinulla ei ole häävaatteita?' Mutta hän jäi sanattomaksi.
and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?’ He was speechless.
13 Silloin kuningas sanoi palvelijoille: 'Sitokaa hänen jalkansa ja kätensä ja heittäkää hänet ulos pimeyteen'. Siellä on oleva itku ja hammasten kiristys.
Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him into the outer darkness; there is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.’
14 Sillä monet ovat kutsutut, mutta harvat valitut."
For many are called, but few chosen.”
15 Silloin fariseukset menivät ja neuvottelivat, kuinka saisivat hänet sanoissa solmituksi.
Then the Pharisees [Separated] went and took counsel how they might entrap him in his talk.
16 Ja he lähettivät hänen luoksensa opetuslapsensa herodilaisten kanssa sanomaan: "Opettaja, me tiedämme, että sinä olet totinen ja opetat Jumalan tietä totuudessa, kenestäkään välittämättä, sillä sinä et katso henkilöön.
They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter whom you teach, for you are not partial to anyone.
17 Sano siis meille: miten arvelet? Onko luvallista antaa keisarille veroa vai ei?"
Tell us what you think: Does Torah ·Teaching· permit paying taxes to Caesar [Ruler], or not?”
18 Mutta Jeesus ymmärsi heidän pahuutensa ja sanoi: "Miksi kiusaatte minua, te ulkokullatut?
But Yeshua [Salvation] perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you test me, you hypocrites?
19 Näyttäkää minulle veroraha." Niin he toivat hänelle denarin.
Show me the tax money.” They brought to him a denarius [one day’s wage].
20 Hän sanoi heille: "Kenen kuva ja päällekirjoitus tämä on?"
He asked them, “Whose is this image and inscription?”
21 He vastasivat: "Keisarin". Silloin hän sanoi heille: "Antakaa siis keisarille, mikä keisarin on, ja Jumalalle, mikä Jumalan on".
They said to him, “Caesar’s [Ruler]’s.” Then he said to them, “Give therefore to Caesar [Ruler] the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
22 Kun he sen kuulivat, ihmettelivät he ja jättivät hänet ja menivät pois.
When they heard it, they marveled, and left him, and went away.
23 Sinä päivänä tuli hänen luoksensa saddukeuksia, jotka sanovat, ettei ylösnousemusta ole, ja he kysyivät häneltä
On that day Sadducees [Morally-upright] (those who say that there is no resurrection) came to him. They asked him hard questions,
24 sanoen: "Opettaja, Mooses on sanonut: 'Jos joku kuolee lapsetonna, niin hänen veljensä naikoon hänen vaimonsa ja herättäköön siemenen veljelleen'.
saying, “Teacher, Moses [Drawn out] said, ‘If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up offspring for his brother.’
25 Keskuudessamme oli seitsemän veljestä. Ensimmäinen otti vaimon ja kuoli; ja koska hänellä ei ollut jälkeläistä, jätti hän vaimonsa veljelleen.
Now there were with us seven brothers. The first married and died, and having no offspring left his wife to his brother.
26 Niin myös toinen ja kolmas, ja samoin kaikki seitsemän.
In the same way, the second also, and the third, to the seventh.
27 Viimeiseksi kaikista kuoli vaimo.
After them all, the woman died.
28 Kenen vaimo noista seitsemästä hän siis ylösnousemuksessa on oleva? Sillä kaikkien vaimona hän on ollut."
In the resurrection therefore, whose wife will she be of the seven? For they all had her.”
29 Jeesus vastasi ja sanoi heille: "Te eksytte, koska te ette tunne kirjoituksia ettekä Jumalan voimaa.
But Yeshua [Salvation] answered them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 Sillä ylösnousemuksessa ei naida eikä mennä miehelle; vaan he ovat niinkuin enkelit taivaassa.
For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like God’s angels in heaven.
31 Mutta mitä kuolleitten ylösnousemukseen tulee, ettekö ole lukeneet, mitä Jumala on puhunut teille, sanoen:
But concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven’t you read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,
32 'Minä olen Aabrahamin Jumala ja Iisakin Jumala ja Jaakobin Jumala'? Ei hän ole kuolleitten Jumala, vaan elävien."
‘I am the God of Abraham [Father of a multitude], and the God of Isaac [Laughter], and the God of Jacob [Supplanter]?’ God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”
33 Ja sen kuullessaan kansa hämmästyi hänen oppiansa.
When the multitudes heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.
34 Mutta kun fariseukset kuulivat, että hän oli tukkinut saddukeuksilta suun, kokoontuivat he yhteen;
But the Pharisees [Separated], when they heard that he had silenced the Sadducees [Morally-upright], gathered themselves together.
35 ja eräs heistä, joka oli lainoppinut, kysyi häneltä kiusaten:
One of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, testing him.
36 "Opettaja, mikä on suurin käsky laissa?"
“Teacher, which of the mitzvot ·instructions· in the Torah ·Teaching· is the most important?”
37 Niin Jeesus sanoi hänelle: "'Rakasta Herraa, sinun Jumalaasi, kaikesta sydämestäsi ja kaikesta sielustasi ja kaikesta mielestäsi'.
Yeshua [Salvation] said to him, “‘You shall have agapao ·total devotion love· to MarYah [Master Yahweh] your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
38 Tämä on suurin ja ensimmäinen käsky.
This is the greatest and most important mitzvah ·instruction·.
39 Toinen, tämän vertainen, on: 'Rakasta lähimmäistäsi niinkuin itseäsi'.
A second likewise is this, ‘You shall show agapao ·total devoted love· to your neighbor as yourself.’
40 Näissä kahdessa käskyssä riippuu kaikki laki ja profeetat."
All of the Torah ·Teaching· and the Prophets depend on these two mitzvot ·instructions·.”
41 Ja fariseusten ollessa koolla Jeesus kysyi heiltä
Now while the Pharisees [Separated] were gathered together, Yeshua [Salvation] asked them a question,
42 sanoen: "Mitä arvelette Kristuksesta? Kenen poika hän on?" He sanoivat hänelle: "Daavidin".
saying, “What do you think of the Messiah [Anointed one]? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “Of David [Beloved].”
43 Hän sanoi heille: "Kuinka sitten Daavid Hengessä kutsuu häntä Herraksi, sanoen:
He said to them, “How then does David [Beloved] in haRuach [the Spirit] call him MarYah [Master Yahweh], saying,
44 'Herra sanoi minun Herralleni: Istu minun oikealle puolelleni, kunnes minä panen sinun vihollisesi sinun jalkojesi alle'.
‘Yahweh said to adoni [my Lord], sit on my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet’?
45 Jos siis Daavid kutsuu häntä Herraksi, kuinka hän on hänen poikansa?"
“If then David [Beloved] calls him MarYah [Master Yahweh], how is he his son?”
46 Ja kukaan ei voinut vastata hänelle sanaakaan; eikä siitä päivästä lähtien yksikään enää rohjennut kysyä häneltä mitään.
No one was able to answer him a word, neither did any man dare ask him any more hard questions from that day forward.
