Ézéchiel 9
1 Puis il cria à mes oreilles d’une voix forte, disant: "Approchez, fléaux de la ville, chacun son engin de destruction à la main."
Then he cried in my ears with a loud voice, saying, “Cause those who are in charge of the city to draw near, each man with his destroying weapon in his hand.”
2 Et voici que six hommes venaient du côté de la porte supérieure qui regarde au Nord, chacun avec son engin de ruine à la main, et il y avait un homme au milieu d’eux, vêtu de lin, avec l’écritoire du scribe aux reins, et ils vinrent se poster près de l’autel de cuivre.
Behold, six men came from the way of the upper gate, which lies toward the north, every man with his slaughter weapon in his hand. One man in the middle of them was clothed in linen, with a writer’s inkhorn by his side. They went in, and stood beside the bronze altar.
3 Et la gloire du Dieu d’Israël s’éleva, de dessus le Chérubin sur lequel elle se trouvait, vers le seuil de la maison et appela l’homme vêtu de lin qui avait l’écritoire du scribe aux reins.
The glory of the God of Israel went up from the cherub, whereupon it was, to the threshold of the house; and he called to the man clothed in linen, who had the writer’s inkhorn by his side.
4 L’Eternel lui dit: "Passe au milieu de la ville, au milieu de Jérusalem, et tu dessineras un signe sur le front des hommes qui soupirent et gémissent à cause de toutes les iniquités qui s’y commettent."
Yahweh said to him, “Go through the middle of the city, through the middle of Jerusalem, and set a mark on the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry over all the abominations that are done within it.”
5 Et aux autres il dit, à mes oreilles: "Passez dans la ville derrière lui, et frappez; que votre oeil n’ait pas d’indulgence et n’ayez pas pitié.
To the others he said in my hearing, “Go through the city after him, and strike. Don’t let your eye spare, neither have pity.
6 Vieillards, jeunes gens et jeunes filles, enfants et femmes, tuez-les, détruisez-les, mais de tout homme qui porte le signe n’approchez pas, et commencez par mon sanctuaire. "Ils commencèrent par les hommes âgés qui étaient devant le temple."
Kill utterly the old man, the young man, the virgin, little children and women; but don’t come near any man on whom is the mark. Begin at my sanctuary.” Then they began at the old men who were before the house.
7 Et il leur dit: "Profanez la maison et remplissez les cours de cadavres; sortez!" Et ils sortirent et frappèrent dans la ville.
He said to them, “Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain. Go out!” They went out, and struck in the city.
8 Or, comme ils frappaient, et que je demeurais là, je tombai sur ma face, je criai et dis: "Hélas! Seigneur Dieu, vas-tu détruire tout ce qui reste d’Israël en épanchant ta colère sur Jérusalem?"
While they were killing, and I was left, I fell on my face, and cried, and said, “Ah Lord Yahweh! Will you destroy all the residue of Israel in your pouring out of your wrath on Jerusalem?”
9 Il me dit: "L’Iniquité de la maison d’Israël et de Juda est grande, très grande, le pays est rempli de sang, la ville est remplie de dénis de justice, car ils ont dit: "L’Eternel a délaissé le pays, l’Eternel ne voit pas."
Then he said to me, “The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perversion; for they say, ‘Yahweh has forsaken the land, and Yahweh doesn’t see.’
10 Moi non plus, mon oeil n’aura pas d’indulgence et je n’aurai pas de pitié, je ferai retomber leurs actes sur leur tête.
As for me also, my eye won’t spare, neither will I have pity, but I will bring their way on their head.”
11 "Et voici que l’homme, vêtu de lin, qui avait l’écritoire aux reins, fit son rapport en disant: "J’Ai agi comme tu m’avais commandé."
Behold, the man clothed in linen, who had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, “I have done as you have commanded me.”
