Psaumes 2
1 D'où vient que les nations ont frémi et que les peuples ont médité de vains complots?
Therefore did the heathen rage, and the nations imagine vain things?
2 Les rois de la terre se sont levés, et les chefs se sont réunis ensemble contre le Seigneur et contre son Christ; (Interlude)
The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers gathered themselves together, against the Lord, and against his Christ;
3 Rompons leurs liens, rejetons loin de nous leur joug.
[saying], Let us break through their bonds, and cast away their yoke from us.
4 Celui qui habite aux cieux s'en rira, et le Seigneur se moquera d'eux.
He that dwells in the heavens shall laugh them to scorn, and the Lord shall mock them.
5 Alors il leur parlera dans sa colère; et il les troublera dans sa fureur.
Then shall he speak to them in his anger, and trouble them in his fury.
6 Mais moi, il m'a institué roi de Sion, sa sainte montagne,
But I have been made king by him on Sion his holy mountain,
7 Et j'annonce les préceptes du Seigneur. Le Seigneur m'a dit: Tu es mon fils; aujourd'hui je t'ai engendré.
declaring the ordinance of the Lord: the Lord said to me, You are my Son, today have I begotten you.
8 Demande-moi, et je te donnerai les nations pour héritage, et pour ta possession les limites de la terre.
Ask of me, and I will give you the heathen [for] your inheritance, and the ends of the earth [for] your possession.
9 Tu les gouverneras avec une verge de fer; tu les briseras comme un vaisseau d'argile.
You shall rule them with a rod of iron; you shall dash them in pieces as a potter's vessel.
10 Et maintenant, rois, comprenez; instruisez-vous, juges de la terre.
Now therefore understand, you kings: be instructed, all you that judge the earth.
11 Servez le Seigneur avec crainte, et réjouissez-vous en lui avec tremblement.
Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice in him with trembling.
12 Embrassez sa discipline, de peur que le Seigneur ne s'irrite, et que vous ne périssiez hors de la voie juste. Lorsque soudain s'enflammera sa colère, heureux sont ceux qui ont confiance en lui!
Accept correction, lest at any time the Lord be angry, and you should perish from the righteous way: whenever his wrath shall be suddenly kindled, blessed are all they that trust in him.
