1 Et Salomon mit treize ans a construire son palais qu'il acheva complètement.
And Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.
2 D'abord il éleva la maison de la Forêt du Liban, longue de cent coudées, large de cinquante, haute de trente, sur quatre rangs de colonnes de cèdre sur lesquelles posaient des poutres de cèdre;
For he built the house of the forest of Lebanon; the length thereof was an hundred cubits, and the breadth thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits, upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars.
3 et une couverture de cèdre surmontait les chambres qui reposaient sur les colonnes et dont il y avait quarante-cinq, quinze par galerie.
And it was covered with cedar above over the forty and five beams, that were upon the pillars; fifteen in a row.
4 Or il y avait trois étages de planchers, et une triple série de jours à la file l'un de l'autre.
And there were prospects in three rows, and light was over against light in three ranks.
5 Et toutes les portes et les jours étaient formés de poutres en carré, et il y avait trois étages de jours à l'opposite l'un de l'autre.
And all the doors and posts were square in prospect: and light was over against light in three ranks.
6 Il fit aussi la cour de la colonnade, de cinquante coudées dans sa longueur et de trente coudées dans sa largeur, et devant ce portique une cour avec des colonnes et un perron devant celles-ci;
And he made the porch of pillars; the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth thereof thirty cubits; and a porch before them; and pillars and thick beams before them.
7 et il fit la salle du Trône où il rendait la justice, la salle des Jugements avec une boiserie de cèdre d'un plancher à l'autre.
And he made the porch of the throne where he might judge, even the porch of judgment: and it was covered with cedar from floor to floor.
8 Et son palais où il résidait, dans l'autre cour, derrière la cour [du Trône] était une construction pareille. Et il bâtit pour la fille de Pharaon, que Salomon avait épousée, un palais pareil à cette cour.
And his house where he might dwell, the other court within the porch, was of the like work. He made also an house for Pharaoh’s daughter, (whom Solomon had taken to wife, ) like unto this porch.
9 Tous ces bâtiments étaient de pierres choisies, taillées d'après des mesures, sciées avec la scie, et cela à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur, des fondements à la crénelure, du devant à la grande cour;
All these were of costly stones, even of hewn stone, according to measure, sawed with saws, within and without, even from the foundation unto the coping, and so on the outside unto the great court.
10 et ils avaient pour assises des pierres de choix, des pierres de grande dimension, des pierres de dix coudées et des pierres de huit coudées.
And the foundation was of costly stones, even great stones, stones of ten cubits, and stones of eight cubits.
11 Et au-dessus c'étaient des pierres de choix taillées d'après des mesures, et du cèdre.
And above were costly stones, even hewn stone, according to measure, and cedar wood.
12 Et à l'entour de la grande cour régnaient trois rangées de pierres de taille et une rangée de poutres de cèdre, ainsi qu'au Parvis du Temple de l'Éternel, au Parvis intérieur et touchant au Vestibule du Temple.
And the great court round about had three rows of hewn stone, and a row of cedar beams; like as the inner court of the house of the LORD, and the porch of the house.
13 Et par une députation le Roi Salomon fit venir Hiram de Tyr:
And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre.
14 il était fils d'une veuve de la Tribu de Nephthali, mais son père était un Tyrien, ouvrier en airain; et il était plein d'habileté, d'intelligence et de connaissance pour exécuter tous les ouvrages d'airain; il vint donc chez le Roi Salomon, et il exécuta tous ses ouvrages.
He was the son of a widow woman of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass; and he was filled with wisdom and understanding and cunning, to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and wrought all his work.
15 Et il modela les deux colonnes d'airain, dont l'une avait dix-huit coudées de hauteur, et un cordeau de douze coudées formait la circonférence de la seconde.
For he fashioned the two pillars of brass, of eighteen cubits high apiece: and a line of twelve cubits compassed either of them about.
16 Et il fit deux chapiteaux pour les poser sur les cimes des colonnes, coulés en airain, cinq coudées étant la hauteur de l'un et cinq coudées la hauteur de l'autre.
And he made two chapiters of molten brass, to set upon the tops of the pillars: the height of the one chapiter was five cubits, and the height of the other chapiter was five cubits.
17 Des treillis en ouvrage treillissé, des cordons en travail de chaînettes tenaient aux chapiteaux sur les cimes des colonnes, sept à l'un des chapiteaux et sept à l'autre chapiteau.
There were nets of checker work, and wreaths of chain work, for the chapiters which were upon the top of the pillars; seven for the one chapiter, and seven for the other chapiter.
18 Et il fit les grenades, savoir tout autour deux rangs à un treillis pour revêtements des chapiteaux qui étaient à la cime des colonnes; et il en fit autant à l'autre chapiteau.
So he made the pillars; and there were two rows round about upon the one network, to cover the chapiters that were upon the top of the pillars: and so did he for the other chapiter.
19 Et les chapiteaux posés sur la cime des colonnes étaient en façon de lis au Vestibule, ayant quatre coudées.
And the chapiters that were upon the top of the pillars in the porch were of lily work, four cubits.
20 Et les chapiteaux superposés aux deux colonnes montaient encore plus haut droit au-dessus du bourrelet qui était à l'envers du treillis, et deux cents grenades en colliers entouraient le second chapiteau.
And there were chapiters above also upon the two pillars, close by the belly which was beside the network: and the pomegranates were two hundred, in rows round about upon the other chapiter.
21 Et il érigea les colonnes pour le Vestibule du Temple, et il érigea la colonne de droite et la nomma Jachin, et il érigea la colonne de gauche et la nomma Boas.
And he set up the pillars at the porch of the temple: and he set up the right pillar, and called the name thereof Jachin: and he set up the left pillar, and called the name thereof Boaz.
22 Et sur la cime des colonnes il y avait une façon de lis, et ainsi fut achevé le travail des colonnes.
And upon the top of the pillars was lily work: so was the work of the pillars finished.
23 Et il fit la Mer en fonte, ayant dix coudées de l'un de ses bords à l'autre bord, ronde en circonférence, haute de cinq coudées et mesurant trente coudées dans le tour de sa circonférence.
And he made the molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round in compass, and the height thereof was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits compassed it round about.
24 Et des coloquintes l'entouraient au-dessous de son bord tout autour, à raison de dix par coudée en cercle autour de la Mer dans sa circonférence sur deux rangs: les coloquintes furent coulées dans la fonte même.
And under the brim of it round about there were knops which did compass it, for ten cubits, compassing the sea round about: the knops were in two rows, cast when it was cast.
25 Elle reposait sur douze taureaux, trois regardant vers le Nord, et trois vers l'Occident, et trois vers le Midi et trois vers le Levant, et la Mer leur était directement superposée, et toutes leurs croupes convergeaient vers le dessous.
It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set upon them above, and all their hinder parts were inward.
26 Et elle avait une palme d'épaisseur, et son rebord avait la façon d'un rebord de coupe, en fleur de lis; elle contenait deux mille baths.
And it was an handbreadth thick; and the brim thereof was wrought like the brim of a cup, like the flower of a lily: it held two thousand baths.
27 Et il fit les dix porte-aiguière d'airain, chaque porte-aiguière long de quatre coudées et large de quatre coudées et haut de trois coudées.
And he made the ten bases of brass; four cubits was the length of one base, and four cubits the breadth thereof, and three cubits the height of it.
28 Et voici quelle était la façon des porte-aiguière: ils avaient des panneaux et les panneaux étaient tenus entre les listels.
And the work of the bases was on this manner: they had borders; and there were borders between the ledges:
29 Et sur les panneaux tenus entre les listels il y avait des lions, des taureaux et des Chérubins, et sur les listels, aussi bien au-dessus qu'au-dessous des lions et des taureaux, il y avait des guirlandes en ciselure profonde.
and on the borders that were between the ledges were lions, oxen, and cherubim; and upon the ledges there was a pedestal above: and beneath the lions and oxen were wreaths of hanging work.
30 Et chaque porte-aiguière avait quatre roues d'airain munies d'essieux d'airain, et ses quatre pieds leur servaient d'épaulements; les épaulements avaient été coulés sous le bassin vis-à-vis l'un de l'autre.
And every base had four brasen wheels, and axles of brass: and the four feet thereof had undersetters: beneath the laver were the undersetters molten, with wreaths at the side of each.
31 (Et l'orifice du porte-aiguière se trouvait en dedans du chapiteau, puis il y avait une coudée en hauteur; et l'orifice du chapiteau était arrondi, comme cela se pratique pour de tels meubles, et avait une coudée et demie d'ouverture, et à l'orifice il y avait aussi une garniture ciselée.) Or les panneaux [des porte-aiguière] étaient carrés et non pas ronds.
And the mouth of it within the chapiter and above was a cubit: and the mouth thereof was round after the work of a pedestal, a cubit and an half: and also upon the mouth of it were gravings, and their borders were foursquare, not round.
32 Et les quatre roues étaient sous les panneaux, et les épaulements des roues furent fixés au porte-aiguière, et chaque roue avait une coudée et une demi-coudée de hauteur.
And the four wheels were underneath the borders; and the axletrees of the wheels were in the base: and the height of a wheel was a cubit and half a cubit.
33 Et la façon des roues était la même que la façon des roues de char; leurs essieux, leurs jantes et leurs rais, et leurs moyeux, le tout avait été coulé.
And the work of the wheels was like the work of a chariot wheel: their axletrees, and their felloes, and their spokes, and their naves, were all molten.
34 Et quatre épaulements étaient aux quatre angles de chaque porte-aiguière; et de chaque porte-aiguière sortaient ses épaulements.
And there were four undersetters at the four corners of each base: the undersetters thereof were of the base itself.
35 Et le dessus du porte-aiguière s'élevait d'une demi-coudée en forme arrondie, et sur [ce] dessus du porte-aiguière était [un bassin], portant ses propres épaulements et ses panneaux qui y tenaient.
And in the top of the base was there a round compass of half a cubit high: and on the top of the base the stays thereof and the borders thereof were of the same.
36 Et sur les plaques de ses épaulements et sur ses panneaux il cisela des Chérubins, des lions et des palmes, selon l'espace libre qu'il y avait sur chacun d'eux, et des guirlandes à l'entour.
And on the plates of the stays thereof, and on the borders thereof, he graved cherubim, lions, and palm tress, according to the space of each, with wreaths round about.
37 C'est de cette manière qu'il fit les dix porte-aiguière; même coulure, même mesure et même coupe pour tous.
After this manner he made the ten bases: all of them had one casting, one measure, and one form.
38 Et il fit dix bassins d'airain, chaque bassin de la contenance de quarante baths, chaque bassin de quatre coudées, chacun des bassins superposé à un des dix porte-aiguière.
And he made ten lavers of brass: one laver contained forty baths: and every laver was four cubits: and upon every one of the ten bases one laver.
39 Et il plaça les porte-aiguière, cinq au côté droit de l'édifice, et cinq au côté gauche de l'édifice; et il plaça la Mer dans la direction du côté droit de l'édifice vers l'Orient contre le Midi.
And he set the bases, five on the right side of the house, and five on the left side of the house: and he set the sea on the right side of the house eastward, toward the south.
40 Et Hiram fit la poterie et les pelles et les jattes;
And Hiram made the lavers, and the shovels, and the basons. So Hiram made an end of doing all the work that he wrought for king Solomon in the house of the LORD:
41 et Hiram acheva tout l'ouvrage qu'il avait entrepris pour le Roi Salomon dans la maison de l'Éternel; deux colonnes et les bourrelets [et] chapiteaux surmontant les colonnes, au nombre de deux, et les deux treillis pour revêtement des deux bourrelets des chapiteaux superposés aux colonnes;
the two pillars, and the two bowls of the chapiters that were on the top of the pillars; and the two networks to cover the two bowls of the chapiters that were on the top of the pillars;
42 et les quatre cents grenades pour les deux treillis, deux rangées de grenades par treillis pour revêtement des deux bourrelets des chapiteaux superposés aux colonnes;
and the four hundred pomegranates for the two networks; two rows of pomegranates for each network, to cover the two bowls of the chapiters that were upon the pillars;
43 et les dix porte-aiguière et les dix bassins qui reposaient sur les porte-aiguière;
and the ten bases, and the ten lavers on the bases;
44 et la Mer, unique, et les douze taureaux qui étaient sous la Mer,
and the one sea, and the twelve oxen under the sea;
45 et la poterie et les pelles et les jattes. Et tous ces meubles que Hiram fit pour le Roi Salomon dans la Maison de l'Éternel, étaient d'airain fourbi.
and the pots, and the shovels, and the basons: even all these vessels, which Hiram made for king Solomon, in the house of the LORD, were of burnished brass.
46 Et c'est dans le Cercle du Jourdain que le Roi les fit couler, au moyen de la terre glaise, entre Succoth et Tsarthan.
In the Plain of Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarethan.
47 Et Salomon ne se soucia point de tous les meubles à cause de l'énorme quantité: on ne s'enquit point du poids de l'airain.
And Solomon left all the vessels [unweighed], because they were exceeding many: the weight of the brass could not be found out.
48 Et Salomon fit tout le mobilier de la Maison de l'Éternel, l'Autel d'or et la Table d'or où l'on posait les pains de présentation,
And Solomon made all the vessels that were in the house of the LORD: the golden altar, and the table whereupon the shewbread was, of gold;
49 et les candélabres, d'or fin, cinq à droite et cinq à gauche devant le Sanctuaire, et les fleurs et les lampes et les mouchettes d'or,
and the candlesticks, five on the right side, and five on the left, before the oracle, of pure gold; and the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs, of gold;
50 et les bassins et les couteaux et les jattes et les poêles et les pinces d'or fin, et les gonds aux portes à battants du Temple intérieur donnant sur le Lieu Très-Saint; et les portes à battants de la maison pour entrer au Temple, étaient d'or.
and the cups, and the snuffers, and basons, and the spoons, and the firepans, of pure gold; and the hinges, both for the doors of the inner house, the most holy place, and for the doors of the house, [to wit], of the temple, of gold.
51 Et ainsi fut achevé tout l'ouvrage que le Roi Salomon exécuta dans la Maison de l'Éternel. Et Salomon y fit entrer ce que David, son père, avait consacré; il mit l'argent et l'or et les meubles dans les Trésors de la maison de l'Éternel.
Thus all the work that king Solomon wrought in the house of the LORD was finished. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated, [even] the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, and put them in the treasuries of the house of the LORD.
