Psalm 62

1 Auf den Siegesspender, für Zurückgezogene. Ein Lied von David. In Gott allein ist Stille, meine Seele; von ihm kommt meine Hilfe.

To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him [cometh] my salvation.

2 Mein Hort und Heil ist er allein und meine Burg. Ich zweifle nicht daran.

He only [is] my rock and my salvation; [he is] my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

3 Wie lange schreiet einen Mann ihr an und wollet ihn ums Leben bringen, ihr alle, die ihr einer schiefen Wand und einem morschen Zaune gleicht?

How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall [shall ye be, and as] a tottering fence.

4 Sie raten ihm gar eitel, wollen ihn verführen. Mit ihrem Lügenmunde segnen sie und hegen Fluch im Herzen. (Sela)

They only consult to cast [him] down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. (Selah)

5 Mein Herz, sei still in Gott! Von ihm allein kommt, was ich hoffe.

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation [is] from him.

6 Mein Hort und Heil ist er allein und meine Burg. Ich zweifle nicht daran. (Sela)

He only [is] my rock and my salvation: [he is] my defence; I shall not be moved.

7 Auf Gott beruht mein Heil und Ruhm. Er ist mein starker Hort. Bei Gott ist meine Zuversicht.

In God [is] my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, [and] my refuge, [is] in God.

8 Vertraut, ihr Leute, ihm zu jeder Zeit der Trübsal! Und schüttet vor ihm aus das Herz! Nur Gott ist unsere Zuversicht. (Sela)

Trust in him at all times; [ye] people, pour out your heart before him: God [is] a refuge for us. (Selah)

9 Die Menschenkinder sind ein Nichts, die Männer Täuschung; sie schnellen auf der Waage wie ein Nichts empor.

Surely men of low degree [are] vanity, [and] men of high degree [are] a lie: to be laid in the balance, they [are] altogether [lighter] than vanity.

10 Vertrauet nicht auf unrecht Gut! Auf Raub setzt nicht die eitle Hoffnung! Und sprosse Reichtum auch daraus, nicht achtet drauf!

Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart [upon them].

11 Ein Wort hat Gott gesprochen, und Zwiefaches entnehme ich daraus: "Die Macht ist Gottes Eigentum"

God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power [belongeth] unto God.

12 und "Eigen ist Dir Gnade, Herr, und jeglichem lohnst Du nach seinem Werke."

Also unto thee, O Lord, [belongeth] mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.
