2 Korinther 7
1 Da wir nun solche Verheißungen haben, Geliebte, so wollen wir uns reinigen von jeder Befleckung Fleisches und Geistes, und Heiligkeit herstellen in Furcht Gottes.
HAVING therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
2 Gewähret uns Eingang bei euch; wir haben niemand beleidigt, niemand zu Grunde gerichtet, niemand übervorteilt.
Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.
3 ich rede nicht um zu verurteilen. Habe ich doch zuvorgesagt, daß ihr uns im Herzen liegt auf Todes- und Lebensgemeinschaft.
I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you.
4 Ich bin voll Zuversicht euch gegenüber, voll Ruhmes über euch; ich habe Trost die Fülle, Freude im Ueberfluß bei aller unserer Trübsal.
Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.
5 Wie wir nach Makedonia kamen, da gab es bei uns überall keine Erholung für das Fleisch, nichts als Bedrängnis: von außen Kämpfe, innen Furcht.
For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.
6 Aber der Gott, der die Niedrigen tröstet, hat uns mit der Ankunft des Titus getröstet;
Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;
7 nicht durch sein Kommen allein; sondern auch durch den Trost, den er von euch erhalten hatte, da er uns berichtete von eurem Verlangen, eurem Jammer, eurem Eifer für mich, da schlug es bei mir in Freude um.
And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.
8 Wenn ich euch mit meinem Briefe auch betrübt habe, so ist es mir nicht leid. War es mir auch leid - denn ich sehe wohl, daß jener Brief euch, wenn auch nur für den Augenblick, betrübte -
For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.
9 so freue ich mich jetzt, nicht daß ihr betrübt wurdet, sondern daß ihr betrübt wurdet zur Reue. Denn ihr wurdet nach göttlicher Weise betrübt, auf daß ihr auch in gar nichts von uns aus zu Schaden kämet.
Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.
10 Denn die göttliche Betrübnis wirkt eine Reue zum Heile, die man nie bereut. Die Betrübnis der Welt aber wirkt den Tod.
For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
11 Sehet doch diese göttliche Betrübnis, die ihr erlebt habt: wie hat sie euch zum Ernste getrieben, ja zur Verteidigung, zur Entrüstung, zum Schrecken, zur Sehnsucht, zum Eifer, zur Vergeltung. Alles habt ihr gethan, euch rein in der Sache zu beweisen.
For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.
12 Nun denn, was ich euch auch geschrieben, es geschah nicht wegen des Beleidigers oder wegen des Beleidigten, sondern um euren Eifer für uns offenbar werden zu lassen in eurer Mitte vor Gott.
Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear unto you.
13 Darum haben wir unseren Trost gefunden. Zu unserem Troste wurden wir aber erst recht hoch erfreut durch die Freude des Titus darüber, daß sein Geist bei euch insgesamt seine Erquickung gefunden hatte.
Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.
14 So war ich denn nicht zu Schanden geworden, wenn ich mich bei ihm euretwegen gerühmt hatte, sondern wie alles, was wir euch gesagt, wahr gewesen ist, so hat sich auch unser Rühmen bei Titus als Wahrheit ausgewiesen.
For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.
15 Und sein Herz ist euch nun um so mehr zugewendet, wenn er denkt an euer aller Willigkeit, wie ihr ihn mit Furcht und Zittern empfiengt.
And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.
16 So freue ich mich, weil ich mich in allem auf euch verlassen kann.
I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.
