Hesekiel 8

1 Im sechsten Jahr aber, am sechsten Monat, am fünften des Monats, als ich in meinem Hause saß, und die Vornehmen von Juda vor mir saßen, fiel daselbst die Hand des Herrn Jahwe auf mich.

And it was doon in the sixte yeer, in the sixte monethe, in the fyuethe dai of the monethe, Y sat in myn hous, and the elde men of Juda saten bifore me; and the hond of the Lord God felle there on me.

2 Und ich sah hin, da war ein Gebilde, das sah aus wie ein Mann; von seinen Hüften an abwärts war Feuer, und von seinen Hüften an aufwärts war es wie Lichtglanz anzusehen, wie das Leuchten von Glanzerz.

And Y siy, and lo! a licnesse as the biholdyng of fier; fro the biholding of hise leendis and bynethe was fier, and fro hise leendis and aboue was as the biholdyng of schynyng, as the siyt of electre.

3 Und er reckte etwas wie eine Hand aus und erfaßte mich bei den Locken meines Hauptes, und der Geist hob mich empor zwischen Erde und Himmel und brachte mich nach Jerusalem in einem göttlichen Gesicht an den Eingang des inneren Thors, das nach Norden gewendet ist, wo die den Eifer Jahwes erregende Bildsäule stand.

And the licnesse of an hond was sent out, and took me bi the heer of myn heed; and the spirit reiside me bitwixe heuene and erthe, and brouyte me in to Jerusalem, in the siyt of God, bisidis the ynnere dore that bihelde to the north, where the idol of enuye was set, to stire indignacioun.

4 Es war aber daselbst die Herrlichkeit des Gottes Israels, entsprechend dem Gesichte, das ich in der Thalebene geschaut hatte.

And lo! the glorie of God of Israel was there, bi siyt which Y siy in the feeld.

5 Und er sprach zu mir: Menschensohn, erhebe einmal deine Augen in der Richtung nach Norden! Als ich nun meine Augen in Richtung nach Norden erhob, da stand nördlich vom Altarthore diese eifererregende Bildsäule am Eingang.

And he seide to me, Thou, sone of man, reise thin iyen to the weie of the north; and Y reiside myn iyen to the weie of the north, and lo! fro the north of the yate of the auter the idol of enuye was in that entryng.

6 Und er sprach zu mir: Menschensohn, siehst du wohl, was sie da machen? Große Greuel sind es, welche das Haus Israel hier treibt, so daß ich fern bleiben muß von meinem Heiligtum; aber du wirst noch weitere große Greuel sehen!

And he seide to me, Sone of man, gessist thou whether thou seest what thing these men doon, the grete abhomynaciouns whiche the hous of Israel doith here, that Y go fer awei fro my seyntuarie? and yit thou schalt turne, and schalt se grettere abhomynaciouns.

7 Und er brachte mich an den Eingang des Vorhofs. Und als ich hinsah, befand sich ein Loch in der Wand.

And he ledde me with ynne to the dore of the halle; and Y siy, and lo! oon hoole in the wal.

8 Und er sprach zu mir: Stoße durch die Wand durch! Als ich nun durch die Wand durchstieß, befand sich da eine Thür.

And he seide to me, Sone of man, digge thou the wal; and whanne Y hadde diggid the wal, o dore apperide.

9 Und er sprach zu mir: Gehe hinein und sieh' dir die schlimmen Greuel an, die sie hier treiben!

And he seide to me, Entre thou, and se the worste abhomynaciouns, whiche these men doon here.

10 Als ich nun hinein kam und mich umsah, da fanden sich allerlei Gebilde von greulichem Gewürm und Vieh und allen Götzen des Hauses Israel rings herum an der Wand eingegraben.

And Y entride, and siy; and lo! ech licnesse of `crepynge beestis, and abhomynacioun of beestis, and alle idols of the hous of Israel, weren peyntid in the wal al aboute in cumpas.

11 Und da waren siebzig Männer von den Vornehmen des Hauses Israel und Jaasanja, der Sohn Safans, in ihrer Mitte als ihr Vorsteher, und ein jeder hatte sein Räucherbecken in der Hand, und der Duft der Weihrauchwolken stieg empor.

And seuenti men of the eldere of the hous of Israel stoden; and Jeconye, the sone of Saphan, stood in the myddis of hem, stondynge bifore the peyntyngis; and ech man hadde a censere in his hond, and the smoke of a cloude of encense stiede.

12 Und er sprach zu mir: Hast du wohl gesehen, Menschensohn, was die Vornehmen des Hauses Israel in der Finsternis treiben, ein jeder in seinen Bilderkammern? Denn sie denken: Jahwe sieht uns nicht, Jahwe hat das Land verlassen!

And he seide to me, Certis, sone of man, thou seest what thingis the eldere men of the hous of Israel doen in derknessis, ech man in the hid place of his bed; for thei seiyn, The Lord seeth not vs, the Lord hath forsake the lond.

13 Sodann sprach er zu mir: Du wirst noch weitere große Greuel sehen, die sie treiben!

And the Lord seide to me, Yit thou schalt turne, and schalt se gretter abhomynaciouns, whiche these men doon.

14 Und er brachte mich an den Eingang des Thors des Jahwetempels, welches nach Norden zu liegt; da nun saßen die Weiber, die den Tammus beweinten.

And he ledde me with ynne, bi the dore of the yate of the hous of the Lord, which dore bihelde to the north; and lo! wymmen saten there, biweilynge Adonydes.

15 Und er sprach zu mir: Hast du es gesehen, o Menschensohn? Du wirst noch weitere Greuel sehen, die noch größer sind als diese.

And the Lord seide to me, Certis, sone of man, thou hast seyn; yit thou schalt turne, and schalt se gretere abhomynaciouns than these.

16 Und er brachte mich in den inneren Vorhof des Tempels Jahwes; da waren am Eingange zum Jahwetempel zwischen der Vorhalle und dem Altare gegen 25 Männer; mit dem Rücken gegen den Jahwetempel und mit dem Gesichte gegen Osten gewendet, beteten sie nach Osten hin die Sonne an.

And he ledde me with ynne, in to the ynnere halle of the hous of the Lord; and lo! in the dore of the temple of the Lord, bitwixe the porche and the auter, weren as fyue and twenti men hauynge the backis ayens the temple of the Lord, and her faces to the eest; and thei worschipiden at the risyng of the sunne.

17 Und er sprach zu mir: Hast du es gesehen, Menschensohn? Ist es dem Hause Juda zu wenig, die Greuel zu verüben, die sie hier verübt haben, daß sie außerdem das Land mit Gewaltthat erfüllt und mich immer wieder zum Zorne gereizt haben? Nun sieh, wie sie den Reiserbüschel an ihre Nase halten!

And the Lord seide to me, Certis, sone of man, thou hast seyn; whether this is a liyt thing to the hous of Juda, that thei schulden do these abhomynaciouns, whiche thei diden here? For thei filliden the lond with wickidnesse, and turneden to terre me to wraththe; and lo! thei applien a braunche to her nose thirlis.

18 So will ich denn auch im Grimme handeln: ich will nicht mitleidig blicken, noch will ich Schonung üben. Und wenn sie mir dann mit lauter Stimme in die Ohren schreien, werde ich sie nicht hören.

Therfor and Y schal do in strong veniaunce; myn iye schal not spare, nether Y schal do merci; and whanne thei schulen crie to myn eris with greet vois, Y schal not here hem.
