Psalm 127

1 Wallfahrtslieder. Von Salomo. Wenn Jahwe nicht das Haus baut, so haben sich seine Erbauer umsonst mit ihm abgemüht; wenn Jahwe nicht die Stadt behütet, so hat der Wächter umsonst gewacht.

[the] song of The ascents of Solomon if Yahweh - not he will build a house vanity - they have toiled builders its in it if Yahweh not he will watch over a city vanity - he has kept awake [the] watchman.

2 Es ist umsonst für euch, die ihr früh aufsteht und erst spät euch niederlegt, indem ihr das Brot der Mühen eßt: ebenso giebt er's seinem Geliebten im Schlafe.

Vanity [belongs] to you - [who] rise early to rise [who] delay to sit [who] eat [the] bread of labors thus he gives to beloved [one] his sleep.

3 Fürwahr, ein von Jahwe verliehener Besitz sind Söhne, ein Lohn die Leibesfrucht.

Here! [the] inheritance of Yahweh [is] sons [is] a reward [the] fruit of the womb.

4 Wie Pfeile in der Hand eines Helden, also sind die Söhne der Jugendkraft.

Like arrows in [the] hand of a warrior so [are] [the] sons of youth.

5 Wohl dem Manne, der seinen Köcher mit ihnen gefüllt hat! Sie werden nicht zu Schanden, wenn sie im Thore mit Feinden verhandeln.

How blessed! [is] the man who he has filled quiver his from them not they will be ashamed if they will speak with enemies in the gate.
