Apostelgeschichte 5
1 Ein Mann aber, mit Namen Ananias, verkaufte mit seinem Weibe Sapphira ein Gut,
But a certaine man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, solde a possession,
2 Und behielt mit Wissen seines Weibes von dem Erlös zurück, brachte einen Teil und legte ihn zu den Füßen der Apostel.
And kept away part of the price, his wife also being of counsell, and brought a certaine part, and layde it downe at the Apostles feete.
3 Petrus aber sprach: Ananias, warum hat der Satan dein Herz erfüllt, daß du den Heiligen Geist belogest und von dem Erlös des Grundstückes zurückbehieltest?
Then saide Peter, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart, that thou shouldest lye vnto the holy Ghost, and keepe away part of the price of this possession?
4 Blieb es nicht, unverkauft, dein eigen, und verkauft in deiner Gewalt? Was hast du den solches in deinem Herzen beschlossen? Du hast nicht Menschen, sondern Gott belogen.
Whiles it remained, appertained it not vnto thee? and after it was solde, was it not in thine owne power? howe is it that thou hast conceiued this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lyed vnto men, but vnto God.
5 Da Ananias diese Worte hörte, fiel er nieder und gab den Geist auf. Und es kam eine große Furcht über alle, die es hörten.
Now when Ananias heard these wordes, he fell downe, and gaue vp the ghost. Then great feare came on all them that heard these things.
6 Es standen aber die Jüngeren auf, nahmen ihn bei Seite, trugen ihn hinaus und begruben ihn.
And the yong men rose vp, and tooke him vp, and caried him out, and buried him.
7 Es begab sich aber nach Verlauf von etwa drei Stunden, daß sein Weib, die nichts von dem Vorgefallenen wußte, eintrat.
And it came to passe about the space of three houres after, that his wife came in, ignorant of that which was done.
8 Da hob Petrus an zu ihr: Sage mir, habt ihr das Grundstück so teuer verkauft? Sie sprach: Ja, so teuer.
And Peter sayd vnto her, Tell me, solde ye the land for so much? And she sayd, Yea, for so much.
9 Petrus aber sprach zu ihr: Was seid ihr übereingekommen, den Geist des Herrn zu versuchen? Siehe, die Füße derer, die deinen Mann begruben, sind vor der Tür und werden dich hinaustragen.
Then Peter sayde vnto her, Why haue ye agreed together, to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? beholde, the feete of them which haue buried thine husband, are at the doore, and shall carie thee out.
10 Da stürzte sie alsbald zu seinen Füßen nieder und gab den Geist auf. Da traten die Jünglinge ein, fanden sie tot, trugen sie fort und begruben sie bei ihrem Manne.
Then she fell downe straightway at his feete, and yeelded vp the ghost: and the yong men came in, and found her dead, and caried her out, and buried her by her husband.
11 Und es kam eine große Furcht über die ganze Gemeinde und über alle, die solches hörten.
And great feare came on all the Church, and on as many as heard these things.
12 Es geschahen aber durch die Hände der Apostel viele Zeichen und Wunder unter dem Volke, und sie waren alle einmütig beisammen in Salomohs Halle.
Thus by the hands of the Apostles were many signes and wonders shewed among the people (and they were all with one accorde in Salomons porche.
13 Von den übrigen aber wagte keiner sich ihnen zuzugesellen, aber das Volk hielt große Dinge auf sie.
And of the other durst no man ioyne him selfe to them: neuerthelesse the people magnified them.
14 Es wurden aber eine Menge Männer und Weiber, die an den Herrn glaubten, hinzugetan;
Also the number of them that beleeued in the Lord, both of men and women, grewe more and more)
15 So daß man die Kranken auf die Gassen herausbrachte und auf Tragstellen und Betten niederließ, auf daß, wenn Petrus käme, auch nur sein Schatten ihrer einen überschattete.
In so much that they brought the sicke into the streetes, and layd them on beds and couches, that at the least way the shadowe of Peter, when he came by, might shadow some of them.
16 Es kamen auch viele aus den Städten umher nach Jerusalem, und brachten Kranke und die von unsauberen Geistern geplagt wurden, und alle wurden geheilt.
There came also a multitude out of the cities round about vnto Hierusalem, bringing sicke folkes, and them which were vexed with vncleane spirits, who were all healed.
17 Da erhob sich aber der Hohepriester und alle, die mit ihm waren, und die Sekte der Sadduzäer, und wurden voll Eifers,
Then the chiefe Priest rose vp, and all they that were with him (which was the sect of the Sadduces) and were full of indignation,
18 Und legten ihre Hände an die Apostel und brachten sie in öffentlichen Gewahrsam.
And laide hands on the Apostles, and put them in the common prison.
19 Der Engel des Herrn aber tat während der Nacht die Türen des Gefängnisses auf, führte sie heraus und sprach:
But the Angel of the Lord, by night opened the prison doores, and brought them forth, and sayd,
20 Gehet hin, stehet in dem Tempel und redet zum Volke alle die Worte dieses Lebens.
Go your way, and stand in the Temple, and speake to the people, all the wordes of this life.
21 Da sie das gehört hatten, gingen sie in aller Frühe in den Tempel und lehrten. Der Hohepriester aber kam herbei und die mit ihm waren, und beriefen den Hohen Rat und alle Ältesten der Söhne Israels und schickten nach dem Gefängnis, um sie vorführen zu lassen.
So when they heard it, they entred into the Temple early in the morning, and taught. And the chiefe Priest came, and they that were with him, and called the Councill together, and all the Elders of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison, to cause them to be brought.
22 Als aber die Diener kamen, fanden sie dieselben nicht im Gefängnis, kehrten wieder und verkündigten es,
But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned and tolde it,
23 Und sprachen: Das Gefängnis haben wir mit allem Fleiß verschlossen gefunden und die Hüter standen vor den Türen; da wir aber auftaten, fanden wir niemand darin.
Saying, Certainely we founde the prison shut as sure as was possible, and the keepers standing without, before the doores: but when we had opened, we found no man within.
24 Wie sie diese Reden hörten, wurden der Oberpriester, der Tempelhauptmann und die Hohenpriester betreten und wußten nicht, was doch das werden sollte.
Then when the chiefe Priest, and the captaine of the Temple, and the hie Priestes heard these things, they doubted of them, whereunto this would growe.
25 Da kam jemand und sagte ihnen an: Siehe, die Männer, die ihr ins Gefängnis geworfen, sind im Tempel, stehen und lehren das Volk.
Then came one and shewed them, saying, Beholde, the men that ye put in prison, are standing in the Temple, and teach the people.
26 Da ging der Tempelhauptmann mit den Gerichtsdienern ab, und führte sie herbei, nicht mit Gewalt; denn sie fürchteten sich vor dem Volke, sie möchten gesteinigt werden.
Then went the captaine with the officers, and brought them without violence (for they feared the people, lest they should haue bene stoned)
27 Und da sie selbige brachten, stellten sie sie vor den Hohen Rat, und der Hohepriester befragte sie,
And when they had brought them, they set them before the Councill, and the chiefe Priest asked them,
28 Und sprach: Haben wir euch nicht ernstlich untersagt, in diesem Namen zu lehren? Und siehe, ihr habt ganz Jerusalem mit eurer Lehre erfüllt, und wollt das Blut dieses Menschen auf uns bringen.
Saying, Did not we straightly commaund you, that ye should not teach in this Name? and behold, ye haue filled Hierusale with your doctrine, and ye would bring this mans blood vpon vs.
29 Da antworteten Petrus und die Apostel und sprachen: Man muß Gott mehr gehorchen als den Menschen.
Then Peter and the Apostles answered, and sayd, We ought rather to obey God then men.
30 Der Gott unserer Väter hat Jesus auferweckt, Den ihr zum Tode gebracht und ans Kreuz geschlagen habt.
The God of our fathers hath raised vp Iesus, whom ye slewe, and hanged on a tree.
31 Diesen hat Gott mit Seiner Rechten zu einem Fürsten und Heiland erhöht, zu geben Israel Buße und Vergebung der Sünden.
Him hath God lift vp with his right hand, to be a Prince and a Sauiour, to giue repentance to Israel, and forgiuenes of sinnes.
32 Und wir sind über diese Dinge Seine Zeugen, und der Heilige Geist, den Gott gegeben hat denen, die Ihm gehorchen.
And we are his witnesses concerning these things which we say: yea, and the holy Ghost, whome God hath giuen to them that obey him.
33 Da sie dies hörten, schnitt es ihnen durchs Herz, und sie gedachten, sie umzubringen.
Now when they heard it, they brast for anger, and consulted to slay them.
34 Da stand aber in dem Hohen Rat ein Pharisäer auf, mit Namen Gamaliel, ein Schriftgelehrter, der bei allem Volk in Achtung stand, und hieß die Apostel für eine Weile abführen;
Then stoode there vp in the Councill a certaine Pharise named Gamaliel, a doctour of the Lawe, honoured of all the people, and commanded to put the Apostles forth a litle space,
35 Und sprach zu ihnen: Männer von Israel, nehmet euch wohl in Acht, was ihr mit diesen Männern tun wollet,
And sayd vnto them, Men of Israel, take heede to your selues, what ye intende to doe touching these men.
36 Vor diesen Tagen stand Theudas auf und gab vor, er sei etwas, und es hingen ihm eine Anzahl Männer an, bei vierhundert; der ward erschlagen, und alle, die sich zu ihm hielten, sind zerstreut und zunichte geworden.
For before these times, rose vp Theudas boasting himselfe, to whom resorted a number of men, about a foure hundreth, who was slaine: and they all which obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.
37 Nach ihm stand der Galiläer Judas auf, in den Tagen der Schatzung, und brachte viel Volks zum Abfall. Auch er kam um, und alle, die zu ihm hielten, wurden zerstreut.
After this man, arose vp Iudas of Galile, in the dayes of the tribute, and drewe away much people after him: hee also perished, and all that obeyed him, were scattered abroad.
38 Und nun sage ich euch, befasset euch nicht mit diesen Leuten, und lasset sie gehen! Ist dieses Vorgehen, oder dies Werk von Menschen, so wird es untergehen;
And nowe I say vnto you, Refraine your selues from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsell, or this worke be of men, it will come to nought:
39 Ist es aber von Gott, so könnt ihr sie nicht unterdrücken, auf daß ihr nicht als solche erfunden werdet, die wider Gott streiten wollen.
But if it be of God, ye can not destroy it, lest ye be found euen fighters against God.
40 Da fielen sie ihm zu und riefen den Aposteln, stäupten sie und verboten ihnen, sie sollten nicht reden im Namen Jesus, und gaben sie frei.
And to him they agreed, and called the Apostles: and when they had beaten them, they commanded that they should not speake in the Name of Iesus, and let them goe.
41 Sie aber verließen den Hohen Rat hocherfreut, daß sie gewürdigt wurden, um dieses Namens willen Schmach zu erleiden,
So they departed from the Councill, reioycing, that they were counted worthy to suffer rebuke for his Name.
42 und hörten nicht auf, alle Tage im Tempel und in den Häusern zu lehren und das Evangelium von Jesus Christus zu predigen.
And dayly in the Temple, and from house to house they ceased not to teach, and preach Iesus Christ.
