תְהִלִּים 149

1 הַ֥לְלוּ יָ֨הּ ׀ שִׁ֣ירוּ לַֽ֭יהוָה שִׁ֣יר חָדָ֑שׁ תְּ֝הִלָּת֗וֹ בִּקְהַ֥ל חֲסִידִֽים׃

Praise Adonai! Sing to Adonai a new song, his tehilah ·praise song· in the assembly of the saints.

2 יִשְׂמַ֣ח יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל בְּעֹשָׂ֑יו בְּנֵֽי־צִ֝יּ֗וֹן יָגִ֥ילוּ בְמַלְכָּֽם׃

Let Israel [God prevails] rejoice in him who made them. Let the children of Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking] be joyful in their King.

3 יְהַֽלְל֣וּ שְׁמ֣וֹ בְמָח֑וֹל בְּתֹ֥ף וְ֝כִנּ֗וֹר יְזַמְּרוּ־לֽוֹ׃

Let them praise his name in the dance! Let them sing zahmar ·musical praise· to him with tambourine and harp!

4 כִּֽי־רוֹצֶ֣ה יְהוָ֣ה בְּעַמּ֑וֹ יְפָאֵ֥ר עֲ֝נָוִ֗ים בִּישׁוּעָֽה׃

For Adonai takes pleasure in his people. He crowns the humble with yishu'ah ·salvation·.

5 יַעְלְז֣וּ חֲסִידִ֣ים בְּכָב֑וֹד יְ֝רַנְּנ֗וּ עַל־מִשְׁכְּבוֹתָֽם׃

Let the saints rejoice in kavod ·weighty glory·. Let them sing for joy on their beds.

6 רוֹמְמ֣וֹת אֵ֭ל בִּגְרוֹנָ֑ם וְחֶ֖רֶב פִּֽיפִיּ֣וֹת בְּיָדָֽם׃

May the high praises of God be in their mouths, and a two-edged sword in their hand;

7 לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת נְ֭קָמָה בַּגּוֹיִ֑ם תּֽ֝וֹכֵחֹ֗ת בַּל־אֻמִּֽים׃

To execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments on the peoples;

8 לֶאְסֹ֣ר מַלְכֵיהֶ֣ם בְּזִקִּ֑ים וְ֝נִכְבְּדֵיהֶ֗ם בְּכַבְלֵ֥י בַרְזֶֽל׃

To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

9 לַעֲשׂ֤וֹת בָּהֶ֨ם ׀ מִשְׁפָּ֬ט כָּת֗וּב הָדָ֣ר ה֭וּא לְכָל־חֲסִידָ֗יו הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃

to execute on them the written judgment. All his saints have this honor. Halleluyah ·praise Yah·!
