< Jeremias 36 >

1 Ket napasamak nga iti maikapat a tawen iti panagari ni Jehoiakim a putot ni Josias idiay Juda, ket immay daytoy a sao kenni Jeremias manipud kenni Yahweh, a kunana,
In the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the LORD:
2 “Mangalaka iti lulukoten a pagsuratan ket isuratmo iti daytoy amin dagiti sao nga imbagak maipapan iti Israel ken Juda, ken tunggal nasion. Aramidem daytoy iti amin nga imbagak manipud iti aldaw ni Josias agingga ita nga aldaw.
“Take a scroll and write on it all the words I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah, and all the nations, from the day I first spoke to you during the reign of Josiah until today.
3 Bareng no denggen dagiti tattao ti Juda dagiti amin a didigra a pinanggepko nga idissuor kadakuada. Bareng no tallikudan ti tunggal maysa ti dakes nga aramidna, tapno mapakawanko ti kinadakes ken basolda.”
Perhaps when the people of Judah hear about all the calamity I plan to bring upon them, each of them will turn from his wicked way. Then I will forgive their iniquity and their sin.”
4 Ket inayaban ni Jeremias ni Baruc a putot ni Nerias, ket insurat ni Baruc iti maysa a lulukoten a pagsuratan bayat iti panangibagbaga ni Jeremias, amin dagiti sasao ni Yahweh a naibaga kenkuana.
So Jeremiah called Baruch son of Neriah, and at the dictation of Jeremiah, Baruch wrote on a scroll all the words that the LORD had spoken to Jeremiah.
5 Kalpasanna, binilin ni Jeremias ni Baruk. Kunana, “Addaak iti pagbaludan ket saanak a makapan idiay balay ni Yahweh.
Then Jeremiah commanded Baruch, “I am restricted; I cannot enter the house of the LORD;
6 Isu a masapul a mapanka ket ibasam manipud iti lulukoten a pagbasaan ti insuratmo bayat iti panangibagbagak. Iti aldaw ti panagayunar, masapul nga ibasam dagiti sao ni Yahweh tapno mangngeg dagiti tattao iti balayna, ken kasta met a mangngeg dagiti amin a taga-Juda nga immay manipud kadagiti siudadda. Iwaragawagmo dagitoy a sasao kadakuada.
so you are to go to the house of the LORD on a day of fasting, and in the hearing of the people you are to read the words of the LORD from the scroll you have written at my dictation. Read them in the hearing of all the people of Judah who are coming from their cities.
7 Bareng no dumanun iti sangoanan ni Yahweh ti panagpakpakaasida. Bareng no tallikudan ti tunggal maysa dagiti dakes nga aramidna, agsipud ta nakaro unay ti unget ken pungtot nga imbaga ni Yahweh a maibusor kadagitoy a tattao.”
Perhaps they will bring their petition before the LORD, and each one will turn from his wicked way; for great are the anger and fury that the LORD has pronounced against this people.”
8 Inaramid ngarud ni Baruk a putot ni Nerias amin dagiti imbilin ni Jeremias a profeta nga aramidenna. Imbasana iti napigsa dagiti sasao ni Yahweh iti balay ni Yahweh.
So Baruch son of Neriah did everything that Jeremiah the prophet had commanded him. In the house of the LORD he read the words of the LORD from the scroll.
9 Ket napasamak iti maikasiam a bulan iti maikalima a tawen a panagari ni Jehoiakim a putot ni Josias iti Juda, nga amin dagiti tattao iti Jerusalem ken dagiti tattao nga immay iti Jerusalem a naggapu kadagiti siudad ti Juda ket nagayunar kas panangdayawda kenni Yahweh.
Now in the ninth month of the fifth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, a fast before the LORD was proclaimed to all the people of Jerusalem and all who had come there from the cities of Judah.
10 Imbasa ni Baruk iti napigsa dagiti imbaga ni Jeremias iti balay ni Yahweh, manipud iti siled ni Gemarias a putot ni Safan nga eskriba, iti akinngato a paraangan, iti ruangan ti pagserkan iti balay ni Yahweh. Inaramidna daytoy tapno mangngeg dagiti amin a tattao.
From the chamber of Gemariah son of Shaphan the scribe, which was in the upper courtyard at the opening of the New Gate of the house of the LORD, Baruch read from the scroll the words of Jeremiah in the hearing of all the people.
11 Ita, nangngeg ni Micaias a putot ni Gemarias a putot ni Safan amin dagiti sao ni Yahweh a nakasurat iti lulukoten a pagbasaan.
When Micaiah son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, heard all the words of the LORD from the scroll,
12 Bimmaba isuna a napan iti balay ti ari, iti siled ti sekretario. Adtoy, adda a nakatugaw sadiay amin dagiti ofisiales: ni Elisama a sekretario, ni Delaias a putot ni Semaias, ni Elnatan a putot ni Akbor, ni Gemarias a putot ni Safan, ken ni Zedekias a putot ni Hananias, ken dagiti amin nga ofisiales.
he went down to the scribe’s chamber in the king’s palace, where all the officials were sitting: Elishama the scribe, Delaiah son of Shemaiah, Elnathan son of Achbor, Gemariah son of Shaphan, Zedekiah son of Hananiah, and all the other officials.
13 Ket impadamag ni Micaias kadakuada dagiti amin a sasao a nangngeganna nga imbasa ni Baruk iti napigsa tapno mangngeg dagiti tattao.
And Micaiah reported to them all the words he had heard Baruch read from the scroll in the hearing of the people.
14 Imbaon ngarud dagiti ofisiales ni Jehudi a putot ni Netanias a putot ni Selemias a putot ni Cusi kenni Baruk. Kinuna ni Jehudi kenni Baruk, “Alaem ti lulukoten a pagbasaan, nga ibasbasam kadagiti tattao tapno mangngegda ket umayka.” Innala ngarud ni Baruk a putot ni Nerias ti lulukoten a pagbasaan ket napan iti ayan dagiti ofisiales.
Then all the officials sent word to Baruch through Jehudi son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, saying, “Bring the scroll that you read in the hearing of the people, and come here.” So Baruch son of Neriah took the scroll and went to them.
15 Ket kinunada kenkuana, “Agtugawka ket ibasam daytoy kadakami.” Imbasa ngarud ni Baruk ti lulukoten a pagbasaan.
“Please sit down,” they said, “and read it in our hearing.” So Baruch read it in their hearing.
16 Napasamak nga idi nangngegda amin dagitoy a sasao, agpapadada a nagbuteng ket kinunada kenni Baruk, “Nasken nga ipadamagtayo iti ari amin dagitoy a sasao.”
When they had heard all these words, they turned to one another in fear and said to Baruch, “Surely we must report all these words to the king.”
17 Ket sinaludsodda kenni Baruk, “Ibagam kadakami, kasanom nga insurat amin dagitoy a sasao nga imbaga ni Jeremias?”
“Tell us now,” they asked Baruch, “how did you write all these words? Was it at Jeremiah’s dictation?”
18 Kinuna ni Baruk kadakuada, “Indiktarna amin kaniak dagitoy a sasao, ket insuratko dagitoy iti tinta iti daytoy a lulukoten a pagsuratan.”
“It was at his dictation,” Baruch replied. “He recited all these words to me and I wrote them in ink on the scroll.”
19 Ket kinuna dagiti ofiales kenni Baruk, “Inka aglemmeng, ken kasta met ni Jeremias. Saanyo nga itulok a maammoanda no sadino iti ayanyo.”
Then the officials said to Baruch, “You and Jeremiah must hide yourselves and tell no one where you are.”
20 Ket napanda iti ayan ti paraangan ti palasio ti ari ket impadamagda dagitoy a sasao kenkuana. Ngem inkabilda nga umuna ti nalukot a pagbasaan iti siled ni Elisama a sekretario.
So the officials went to the king in the courtyard. And having stored the scroll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, they reported everything to the king.
21 Ket imbaon ti ari ni Jehudi a mapanna alaen ti lulukoten a pagbasaan. Innala ni Jehudi daytoy manipud iti siled ni Elisama a sekretario. Ket imbasana daytoy iti napigsa iti ari ken kadagiti amin nga ofiales a nakatakder iti abayna.
Then the king sent Jehudi to get the scroll, and he took it from the chamber of Elishama the scribe. And Jehudi read it in the hearing of the king and all the officials who were standing beside him.
22 Ti ari ket adda idi nga agiggian iti balay a pagnanaedanna no tiempo ti lam-ek iti maikasiam a bulan, ket adda iti sangoananna ti paginuduan nga adda sumsumged nga apuy.
Since it was the ninth month, the king was sitting in his winter quarters with a fire burning before him.
23 Ket napasamak a tunggal maibasa ni Jehudi ti tallo wenno uppat a binnatug, putdan ti ari daytoy babaen iti kutsilio sana ipuruak daytoy iti apuy iti paginuduan agingga a napuoran ti entero a lulukoten a pagbasaan.
And as soon as Jehudi had read three or four columns, Jehoiakim would cut them off with a scribe’s knife and throw them into the firepot, until the entire scroll had been consumed by the fire.
24 Ngem saan man la a nagbuteng ti ari wenno ti uray maysa kadagiti adipenna a nakangngeg kadagitoy amin a sasao, wenno nalidayan, ket impakitada koma daytoy babaen iti panangray-abda kadagiti pagan-anayda.
Yet in hearing all these words, the king and his servants did not become frightened or tear their garments.
25 Uray no nagpakpakaasi da Elnatan, Delaias ken Gemerias iti ari a saanna nga ipuor ti lulukoten a pagbasaan, ngem saanna ida nga impangag.
Even though Elnathan, Delaiah, and Gemariah urged the king not to burn the scroll, he would not listen to them.
26 Kalpasanna, imbilin ti ari kada Jerameel, kenni Selema a putot ni Abdeel a tiliwenda ni Baruk nga eskriba ken ni Jeremias a profeta, ngem inlemmeng ida ni Yahweh.
Instead, the king commanded Jerahmeel, a son of the king, as well as Seraiah son of Azriel and Shelemiah son of Abdeel, to seize Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet. But the LORD had hidden them.
27 Ket immay ti sao ni Yahweh kenni Jeremias kalpasan nga impuor ti ari ti lulukoten a pagbasaan a nakailanadan dagiti sao nga insurat ni Baruk bayat nga ibagbaga ni Jeremias, a kunana,
After the king had burned the scroll containing the words that Baruch had written at Jeremiah’s dictation, the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:
28 “Agsublika, mangalaka iti sabali a lulukoten a pagsuratan, ket isuratmo iti daytoy dagiti amin a sasao a naisurat iti immuna a lulukoten a pagsuratan nga impuor ni Jehoiakim nga ari ti Juda.
“Take another scroll and rewrite on it the very words that were on the original scroll, which Jehoiakim king of Judah has burned.
29 Kalpasanna, masapul nga ibagam daytoy kenni Jehoiakim nga ari ti Juda: “Impuormo daydiay a lulukoten a pagbasaan! Ket kinunam: Apay nga insuratmo iti daytoy, “Umayto ti ari ti Babilonia ket dadaelenna daytoy a daga, ta agpada a dadaelennanto ti tao ken ti ayup iti daytoy.”?'”
You are to proclaim concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah that this is what the LORD says: You have burned the scroll and said, ‘Why have you written on it that the king of Babylon would surely come and destroy this land and deprive it of man and beast?’
30 Ngarud, kastoy ti kuna ni Yahweh maipapan kenka, Jehoiakim nga ari ti Juda: “Awanto a pulos iti kaputotam nga agtugaw iti trono ni David. Maipapan kenka, maipurwakto ti bangkaymo iti ruar ket mainitan iti aldaw ken malinnawan iti rabii.
Therefore this is what the LORD says about Jehoiakim king of Judah: He will have no one to sit on David’s throne, and his body will be thrown out and exposed to heat by day and frost by night.
31 Ta dusaenkanto, dagiti kaputotam, ken dagiti adipenmo gapu iti kinadakesyo amin. Iyegkonto kadakayo, kadagiti amin nga agnanaed iti Jerusalem, ken iti tunggal maysa iti Juda dagiti amin a didigra nga imballaagko a maibusor kadakayo, ngem saanyo nga impangag.”
I will punish him and his descendants and servants for their iniquity. I will bring on them, on the residents of Jerusalem, and on the men of Judah, all the calamity about which I warned them but they did not listen.”
32 Nangala ngarud ni Jeremias iti maysa pay a lulukoten a pagsuratan ket intedna daytoy iti eskriba a ni Baruk a putot ni Nerias. Insurat ni Baruk iti daytoy bayat nga ibagbaga ni Jeremias dagiti amin a sasao nga adda iti imun-una a lulukoten a pagsuratan nga impuor ni Jehoiakim nga ari ti Juda. Ket kasta pay, adu dagiti dadduma a kapadpada a sasao ti nainayon iti daytoy a lulukoten a pagsuratan.
Then Jeremiah took another scroll and gave it to the scribe Baruch son of Neriah, and at Jeremiah’s dictation he wrote on it all the words of the scroll that Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire. And many similar words were added to them.
