< Job 22 >

1 Ket simmungbat ni Elipas a Temanita ket kinunana,
Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered,
2 “Adda kadi serserbi ti tao iti Dios? Adda kadi serserbi ti nasarib a tao kenkuana?
“Can a man be profitable to God? Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself.
3 Pakaragsakan kadi ti Mannakabalin-amin no nalintegka? Adda kadi ti magun-odna no aramidem dagiti wagasmo nga awan pakababalawanna?
Is it any pleasure to the Almighty that you are righteous? Or does it benefit him that you make your ways perfect?
4 Gapu kadi iti panagraemmo kenkuana a tubtubngarennaka ken uk-ukomennaka?
Is it for your piety that he reproves you, that he enters with you into judgment?
5 Saan kadi a nakaro ti kinadangkesmo? Awan kadi ti pagpatinggaan dagiti kinadakesmo?
Isn’t your wickedness great? Neither is there any end to your iniquities.
6 Ta pinilitmo nga innala ti pammatalged manipud iti kabsatmo nga awan gapgapuna; linabusam ti maysa a lamo-lamo a tao kadagiti pagan-anayna.
For you have taken pledges from your brother for nothing, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
7 Saanka a nangted iti danum nga inumen dagiti nabannog a tattao; inyimutmo ti tinapay kadagiti mabisin a tattao.
You haven’t given water to the weary to drink, and you have withheld bread from the hungry.
8 uray no sika, a nabileg a tao, tinagikuam ti daga, uray no sika, mararaem a tao, nagnaedka iti daytoy.
But as for the mighty man, he had the earth. The honorable man, he lived in it.
9 Pinapanawmo dagiti balo nga awanan; natukkol dagiti takkiag dagiti ulila.
You have sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
10 Ngarud, adda dagiti silo iti amin nga aglawlawmo, ken rirriribukennaka ti kellaat a panagbuteng.
Therefore snares are around you. Sudden fear troubles you,
11 Adda ti kinasipnget, tapno saanka a makakita; liplipusennaka ti aglaplapusanan a danum.
or darkness, so that you can not see, and floods of waters cover you.
12 Saan kadi nga adda ti Dios kadagiti kinangato ti langit? Kitaem ti kinangato dagiti bituen, anian a nagngatoda!
“Isn’t God in the heights of heaven? See the height of the stars, how high they are!
13 Ibagbagam, 'Ania ti ammo ti Dios? Makaukom kadi isuna iti nakaro a kinasipnget?
You say, ‘What does God know? Can he judge through the thick darkness?
14 Dagiti napuskol nga ulep ket maysa a manglinglinged kenkuana, isu a saannatayo a makitkita; magmagna isuna iti dakkel a silid ti langit.'
Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that he doesn’t see. He walks on the vault of the sky.’
15 Agtultuloyka kadi iti daan a dalan a nagnaan dagiti nadangkes a tattao -
Will you keep the old way, which wicked men have trodden,
16 dagiti narabsut sakbay pay ti tiempoda, dagiti naiyanud dagiti pundasionda a kas iti maysa a karayan,
who were snatched away before their time, whose foundation was poured out as a stream,
17 dagiti nangibaga iti Dios, 'Adaywannakami'; dagiti nangibaga, 'Ania ti maaramidan ti Mannakabalin-amin kadakami?'
who said to God, ‘Depart from us!’ and, ‘What can the Almighty do for us?’
18 Nupay kasta, pinunnona dagiti babbalayda kadagiti naimbag a banbanag; adayo kaniak dagiti panggep dagiti nadangkes a tattao.
Yet he filled their houses with good things, but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
19 Makita dagiti nalinteg a tattao ti gasatda ket maragsakanda; katkatawaan ida dagiti awan basolna a tattao a mangum-umsi.
The righteous see it, and are glad. The innocent ridicule them,
20 Kunada, '“Awan dua-dua a maputed dagiti tumakder a maibusor kadatayo; inuram ti apuy dagiti sanikuada.'
saying, ‘Surely those who rose up against us are cut off. The fire has consumed their remnant.’
21 Ita, makianamongka iti Dios ken makikapiaka kenkuana; iti kasta a wagas, umayto kenka ti kinaimbag.
“Acquaint yourself with him now, and be at peace. By it, good will come to you.
22 Agpakpakaasiak kenka, awatem ti pagannurotan manipud iti ngiwatna; salimetmetam dagiti sasaona dita pusom.
Please receive instruction from his mouth, and lay up his words in your heart.
23 No agsublika iti Mannakabalin-amin, mapapigsaka, no iyadayom ti kinakillo kadagiti toldam.
If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up, if you put away unrighteousness far from your tents.
24 Ikabilmo dagiti gamengmo iti tapok, ti balitok ti Ophir kadagiti batbato dagiti waig,
Lay your treasure in the dust, the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks.
25 ket ti Mannakabalin-amin ti agbalinto a gamengmo, ti napateg a pirak kenka.
The Almighty will be your treasure, and precious silver to you.
26 Ta kalpasanna agragsakanto iti Mannakabalin-amin; itangadmonto ti rupam iti Dios.
For then you will delight yourself in the Almighty, and will lift up your face to God.
27 Agkararagkanto kenkuana, ket denggennakanto; aramidemto dagiti sapatam kenkuana.
You will make your prayer to him, and he will hear you. You will pay your vows.
28 Mangikeddengkanto met iti aniaman a banag, ket mapasingkedanto kenka; agraniagto ti silaw kadagiti dalanmo.
You will also decree a thing, and it will be established to you. Light will shine on your ways.
29 Ipababa ti Dios ti napalangguad a tao, ken isalakanna dagiti nakadumog.
When they cast down, you will say, ‘be lifted up.’ He will save the humble person.
30 Ispalenna ti tao nga awan basolna; maispalkanto babaen iti kinadalus dagiti imam.”
He will even deliver him who is not innocent. Yes, he will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands.”
