1 ED avvenne, in capo di due anni intieri, che Faraone sognò, e gli pareva di essere presso al fiume.
And it fortuned at. ij. yeres end that Pharao dreamed and thought that he stode by a ryuers syde and that there came out of the ryver
2 Ed ecco, dal fiume salivano sette vacche di bella apparenza, e grasse, e carnose, e pasturavano nella giuncaia.
.vij. goodly kyne and fatt fleshed and fedd in a medowe.
3 Poi ecco, dal fiume salivano sette altre vacche di brutta apparenza, e magre, e scarne; e si fermarono presso a quelle [altre] in su la riva del fiume.
And him though that. vij. other kyne came vp after them out of the ryver euelfauored and leane fleshed and stode by the other vpon the brynke of the ryuer.
4 E le vacche di brutta apparenza, e magre, e scarne, mangiarono le sette vacche di bella apparenza, e grasse. E Faraone si risvegliò.
And the evill favored and Ienefleshed kyne ate vp the. vij. welfauored and fatt kyne: and be awoke their with.
5 Poi, raddormentatosi, sognò di nuovo: ed ecco, sette spighe prospere, e belle, salivano da un gambo.
And he slepte agayne and dreamed the second tyme that. vij. eares of corne grewe apon one stalke rancke and goodly.
6 Poi ecco, sette altre spighe minute, ed arse dal vento orientale, germogliavano dopo quelle.
And that. vij. thynne eares blasted with the wynde spronge vp after them:
7 E le spighe minute tranghiottirono le sette spighe prospere e piene. E Faraone si risvegliò; ed ecco un sogno.
and that the. vij. thynne eares deuowrerd the. vij. rancke and full eares. And than Pharao awaked: and se here is his dreame.
8 E venuta la mattina, lo spirito suo fu conturbato; e mandò a chiamar tutti i Magi ed i Savi d'Egitto, e racontò loro i suoi sogni; ma non [vi fu] alcuno che li potesse interpretare a Faraone.
When the mornynge came his sprete was troubled And he sent and casted for all the soythsayers of Egypte and all the wyse men there of and told them his dreame: but there was none of them that coude interpretate it vnto Pharao.
9 Allora il coppier maggiore parlò a Faraone, dicendo: Io mi rammemoro oggi i miei falli.
Than spake the chefe buttelar vnto Pharao saynge. I do remembre my fawte this daye.
10 Faraone si crucciò [già] gravemente contro a' suoi servitori, e mise me e il panattier maggiore in prigione, in casa del Capitan delle guardie.
Pharao was angrie with his servauntes and put in warde in the chefe marshals house both me and the chefe baker.
11 E sognammo egli ed io, in una [stessa] notte ciascuno un sogno; noi sognammo ciascuno il suo sogno, conveniente all'interpretazione che ne fu data.
And we dreamed both of vs in one nyght and ech mannes dreame of a sondrye interpretation.
12 Or quivi con noi [era] un giovane Ebreo, servitor del Capitan delle guardie, al quale noi raccontammo i nostri sogni, ed egli ce l'interpretò, dando la interpretazione a ciascuno secondo il suo sogno.
And there was with vs a yonge man an Hebrue borne servaunte vnto the chefe marshall. And we told him and he declared oure dreames to vs acordynge to ether of oure dreames.
13 Ed avvenne che, secondo l'interpretazione ch'egli ci avea data, [Faraone] mi rimise nel mio stato, e fece appiccar quell'[altro].
And as he declared them vnto vs euen so it came to passe. I was restored to myne office agayne and he was hanged.
14 Allora Faraone mandò a chiamar Giuseppe, il quale prestamente fu tratto fuor della fossa; ed egli [si] tondè, e si cambiò i vestimenti, e venne a Faraone.
Than Pharao sent and called Ioseph. And they made him haste out of preson. And he shaued him self and chaunged his rayment and went in to Pharao.
15 E Faraone disse a Giuseppe: Io ho sognato un sogno, e non [vi è] niuno che l'interpreti; or io ho udito dir di te, che tu intendi i sogni, per interpretarli.
And Pharao sayde vnto Ioseph: I haue dreamed a dreame and no man ca interpretate it but I haue herde saye of the yt as soon as thou hearest a dreame thou dost interpretate it.
16 E Giuseppe rispose a Faraone, dicendo: [V'è altri] che me; Iddio risponderà [ciò che sarà per] la prosperità di Faraone.
And Ioseph answered Pharao saynge: God shall geue Pharao an answere of peace without me.
17 E Faraone disse a Giuseppe: E' mi pareva nel mio sogno che io stava presso alla riva del fiume.
Pharao sayde vnto Ioseph: in my dreame me thought I stode by a ryvers syde and there came out of the ryver
18 Ed ecco, dal fiume salivano sette vacche, grasse, e carnose, e di bella apparenza, e pasturavano nella giuncaia.
vij fatt fleshed ad well fauored kyne and fedd in the medowe.
19 Poi ecco, sette altre vacche salivano dietro a quelle, magre, e di bruttissima apparenza, e scarne; io non ne vidi [mai] di così misere in tutto il paese di Egitto.
And then. vij. other kyne came vp after them poore and very euell fauored ad leane fleshed: so that I neuer sawe their lyke in all the lande of Egipte in euell fauordnesse.
20 E le vacche magre, e misere, mangiarono le sette prime vacche grasse.
And the. vij. leane and euell fauored kyne ate vpp the first. vij. fatt kyne
21 E quelle entrarono loro in corpo; ma pur non se ne riconobbe nulla; conciossiachè fossero di così brutto aspetto, come prima. Ed io mi risvegliai.
And when they had eaten them vp a man cowde not perceaue that they had eate them: for they were still as evyll fauored as they were at the begynnynge. And I awoke.
22 E' mi [parve] ancora, sognando, veder sette spighe piene e belle, che salivano da un gambo.
And I sawe agayne in my dreame. vij. eares sprynge out of one stalk full and good
23 Poi ecco, sette altre spighe aride, minute, arse dal vento orientale, germogliarono dopo quelle.
and. vij. other eares wytherd thinne and blasted with wynde sprynge vp after them.
24 E le spighe minute tranghiottirono le sette spighe belle. Or io ho detti [questi sogni] a' Magi; ma non [vi è stato] alcuno che me [li] abbia saputi dichiarare.
And the thynne eares deuowred the. vij. good cares. And I haue tolde it vnto the sothsayers but no man can tell me what it meaneth.
25 Allora Giuseppe disse a Faraone: Ciò che ha sognato Faraone [è] una [stessa] cosa. Iddio ha significato a Faraone ciò ch'egli è per fare.
Then Ioseph sayde vnto Pharao: both Pharaos dreames are one. And god doth shewe Pharao what he is aboute to do.
26 Le sette vacche belle son sette anni; e le sette spighe belle sono [altresì] sette anni; l'uno e l'altro sogno [sono] una [stessa] cosa.
The vij. good kyne are. vij yeare: and the. vij. good eares are. vij. yere also and is but one dreame.
27 Parimente, le sette vacche magre e brutte, che salivano dopo quelle, son sette anni; e le sette spighe vote, arse dal vento orientale, saranno sette anni di fame.
Lykewyse the. vij. thynne and euell fauored kyne that came out after them are. vij. yeares: and the. vij. emptie and blasted eares shalbe vij. yeares of hunger.
28 Questo è quello che io ho detto a Faraone: [Che] Iddio ha mostrato a Faraone ciò ch'egli è per fare.
This is that which I sayde vnto Pharao that God doth shewe Pharao what he is aboute to doo.
29 Ecco, vengono sette anni di grande abbondanza in tutto il paese di Egitto.
Beholde there shall come. vij. yere of great plenteousnes through out all the lande of Egypte.
30 Poi, dopo quelli, verranno sette anni di fame; e tutta quella abbondanza sarà dimenticata nel paese di Egitto; e la fame consumerà il paese.
And there shall aryse after them vij. yeres of hunger. So that all the plenteousnes shalbe forgeten in the lande of Egipte. And the hunger shall consume the lande:
31 E quell'abbondanza non si conoscerà nel paese, per cagion di quella fame [che verrà] appresso; perciocchè ella [sarà] molto aspra.
so that the plenteousnes shall not be once asene in the land by reason of that hunger that shall come after for it shalbe exceading great
32 E quant'è a ciò che il sogno è stato reiterato per due volte a Faraone, [ciò è avvenuto], perchè la cosa [è] determinata da Dio; e Iddio l'eseguirà tosto.
And as concernynge that the dreame was dubled vnto Pharao the second tyme it belokeneth that the thynge is certanly prepared of God ad that God will shortly brynge it to passe.
33 Ora dunque provvegga[si] Faraone di un uomo intendente e savio, il quale egli costituisca sopra il paese di Egitto.
Now therfore let Pharao provyde for a man of vnderstondynge and wysdome and sett him over the lande of Egipte.
34 Faraone faccia [questo: ] Ordini de' commissari nel paese; e facciasi dare il quinto [della rendita] del paese di Egitto, ne' sette anni dell'abbondanza.
And let Pharao make officers ouer the lande and take vp the fyfte parte of the land of Egipte in the vij. plenteous yeres
35 E adunino [essi] tutta la vittuaglia di questi sette buoni anni che vengono, e ammassino il grano sotto la mano di Faraone, per vittuaglia nella città; e [lo] conservino.
and let them gather all the foode of these good yeres that come ad lay vp corne vnder the power of Pharo: that there may be foode in the cities
36 E quella vittuaglia sarà per provvisione del paese, ne' sette anni della fame che saranno nel paese di Egitto; e il paese non sarà distrutto per la fame.
and there let them kepte it: that there may be foode in stoore in the lande agaynst the. vij. yeres of hunger which shall come in the lande of Egipte and that the lande perishe not thorow hunger.
37 E la cosa piacque a Faraone e a tutti i suoi servitori.
And the saynge pleased Pharao ad all his seruauntes.
38 E Faraone disse a' suoi servitori: Potremmo noi trovare alcuno pari a costui, [ch'è] uomo in cui [è] lo Spirito di Dio?
Than sayde Pharao vnto his seruavauntes: where shall we fynde soch a ma as this is that hath the sprete of God in him?
39 E Faraone disse a Giuseppe: Poichè Iddio ti ha manifestato tutto questo, e' non [vi è alcuno] intendente, nè savio, come [sei] tu.
wherfore Pharao sayde vnto Ioseph: for as moch as God hath shewed the all this there is no man of vnderstondyng nor of wysdome lyke vnto the
40 Tu sarai sopra la mia casa, e tutto il mio popolo ti bacerà in bocca; io non sarò più grande di te, salvo che nel trono.
Thou therfore shalt be ouer my house and acordinge to thy worde shall all my people obey: only in the kynges seate will I be aboue the.
41 Oltre a ciò, Faraone disse a Giuseppe: Vedi, io ti costituisco sopra tutto il paese di Egitto.
And he sayde vnto Ioseph: beholde I haue sett the ouer all the lande of Egipte.
42 E Faraone si trasse il suo anello di mano, e lo mise in mano a Giuseppe, e lo fece vestir di vestimenti di bisso, e gli mise una collana d'oro al collo.
And he toke off his rynge from his fyngre and put it vpon Iosephs fingre and arayed him in raymet of bisse and put a golden cheyne aboute his necke
43 E lo fece salir sopra il carro della seconda [persona del] suo [regno]; e si gridava davanti a lui: Ognuno s'inginocchi; e ch'egli lo costituiva sopra tutto il paese di Egitto.
and set him vpon the best charett that he had saue one. And they cryed before him Abrech ad that Pharao had made him ruelar ouer all the lande of Egipte.
44 Faraone disse ancora a Giuseppe: Io [son] Faraone; niuno leverà il piè, nè la mano, in tutto il paese di Egitto, senza te.
And Pharao sayde vnto Ioseph: I am Pharao without thi will shall no man lifte vp ether his hande or fote in all the lande of Egipte.
45 E Faraone pose nome a Giuseppe Safenatpaanea; e gli diede per moglie Asenat, figliuola di Potifera, Governatore di On. E Giuseppe andò attorno per lo paese di Egitto.
And be called Iosephs name Zaphnath Paenea. And he gaue him to wyfe Asnath the doughter of Potiphara preast of On. Than went Ioseph abrode in the lade of Egipte.
46 (Or Giuseppe [era] d'età di trent'anni, quando egli si presentò davanti a Faraone, re di Egitto.) Giuseppe adunque si partì dal cospetto di Faraone, e passò per tutto il paese di Egitto.
And he was. xxx. yere olde whe he stode before Pharao kynge of Egipte. And than Ioseph departed from Pharao and went thorow out all the lande of Egipte.
47 E la terra produsse a menate, ne' sette anni dell'abbondanza.
And in the. vij. pleteous yeres they made sheves and gathered
48 E [Giuseppe] adunò tutta la vittuaglia di quei sette anni, che furono nel paese di Egitto, e la ripose nelle città; egli ripose in ciascuna tutta la vittuaglia del contado circonvicino.
vp all the fode of the. vij. plenteous yeres which were in the lande of Egipte and put it in to the cities. And he put the food of the feldes that grewe rounde aboute euery cyte: euen in the same.
49 Giuseppe adunque ammassò grano in grandissima quantità, come la rena del mare; tanto che si rimase di annoverar[lo]; perciocchè era innumerabile.
And Ioseph layde vp corne in stoore lyke vnto the sande of the see in multitude out of mesure vntyll he left nombrynge: For it was with out nombre.
50 Ora, avanti che venisse [il primo] anno della fame, nacquero a Giuseppe due figliuoli; i quali Asenat, figliuola di Potifera, Governatore di On, gli partorì.
And vnto Ioseph were borne. ij. sonnes before the yeres of hunger came which Asnath the doughter of Potiphara preast of On bare vnto him.
51 E Giuseppe pose nome al primogenito Manasse; perciocchè, [disse egli], Iddio mi ha fatto dimenticare ogni affanno, e tutta la casa di mio padre.
And he called the name of the first sonne Manasse for God (sayde he) hath made me forgett all my laboure and all my fathers husholde.
52 E pose nome al secondo, Efraim; perciocchè, [disse egli], Iddio mi ha fatto fruttare nel paese della mia afflizione.
The seconde called he Ephraim for God (sayde he) hath caused me to growe in the lande of my trouble.
53 Poi, finiti i sette anni dell'abbondanza che fu nel paese di Egitto;
And when the. vij. yeres plenteousnes that was in the lands of Egypte were ended
54 cominciarono a venire i sette anni della fame, siccome Giuseppe avea detto; e vi fu fame per tutti i paesi; ma per tutto Egitto vi era del pane.
than came the. vij. yeres of derth acordynge as Ioseph had sayde. And the derth was in all landes: but in the lade of Egipte was there yet foode.
55 Alla fine tutto il paese di Egitto fu [anch'esso] affamato, e il popolo gridò a Faraone per del pane. E Faraone disse a tutti gli Egizj: Andate a Giuseppe, [e] fate ciò ch'egli vi dirà.
When now all the lande of Egipte began to hunger than cried the people to Pharao for bread. And Pharao sayde vnto all Egipte: goo vnto Ioseph and what he sayth to you that doo
56 Ed essendo la fame per tutto il paese, Giuseppe aperse tutti i granai, e [ne] vendè agli Egizj. E la fame si aggravò nel paese di Egitto.
And when the derth was thorow out all the lande Ioseph opened all that was in the cities and solde vnto the Egiptias And hunger waxed fore in the land of Egipte.
57 [Da] ogni paese eziandio si veniva in Egitto a Giuseppe, per comperar [del grano]; perciocchè la fame si era aggravata per tutta la terra.
And all countrees came to Egipte to Ioseph for to bye corne: because that the hunger was so sore in all landes.
