Salmi 142

1 Maschil di Davide; orazione [ch'egli fece], quando era nella spelonca IO grido colla mia voce al Signore; Io supplico al Signore colla mia voce.

[A Psalm] of instruction for David, when he was in the cave, —a Prayer. I cried to the Lord with my voice; with my voice I made supplication to the Lord.

2 Io spando la mia orazione davanti a lui; Io racconto davanti a lui la mia tribolazione,

I will pour out before him my supplication: I will declare before him mine affliction.

3 Mentre lo spirito mio spasima in me. Or tu, [Signore], conosci il mio sentiero. Essi mi hanno nascosto un laccio In su la via, per la quale ho da camminare.

When my spirit was fainting within me, then thou knewest my paths; in the very way wherein I was walking, they hid a snare for me.

4 Io riguardo a destra, e miro; E non [vi è] alcuno che mi riconosca; [Ogni] rifugio è perduto per me; Non [vi è] alcuno che abbia cura dell'anima mia.

I looked on [my] right hand, and behold, for there was none that noticed me; refuge failed me; and there was none that cared for my soul.

5 O Signore, io grido a te; Io dico: Tu [sei] il mio ricetto, La mia parte nella terra de' viventi.

I cried unto thee, O Lord, and said, Thou art my hope, my portion in the land of the living.

6 Attendi al mio gridare; Perciocchè io son ridotto in molto misero stato; Riscuotimi da quelli che mi perseguitano; Perciocchè son più possenti di me.

Attend to my supplication, for I am brought very low; deliver me from them that persecute me; for they are stronger than I.

7 Tira fuor di carcere l'anima mia, Acciocchè io celebri il tuo Nome; I giusti m'intonieranno, Quando tu mi avrai fatta la mia retribuzione.

Bring my soul out of prison, that I may give thanks to thy name, O Lord; the righteous shall wait for me, until thou recompense me.
