創世記 30

1 ラケル己がヤコブに子を生ざるを見て其姉を夢みヤコブに言けるは我に子を與へよ然らずば我死んと

And when Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said to Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.

2 ヤコブ、ラケルにむかひて怒を發して言ふ汝の胎に子をやどらしめざる者は神なり我神に代るをえんや

And Jacob's anger was kindled against Rachel; and he said, [Am] I in God's stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?

3 ラケルいふ吾婢ビルハを視よ彼の處に入れ彼子を生てわが膝に置ん然ば我もまた彼によりて子をうるにいたらんと

And she said, Behold, my maid Bilhah, go in to her; and she shall bear upon my knees, that I may also have children by her.

4 其仕女ビルハを彼にあたへて妻となさしめたりヤコブ即ち彼の處にいる

And she gave him Bilhah, her handmaid, for a wife: and Jacob went in to her.

5 ビルハ遂にはらみてヤコブに子を生ければ

And Bilhah conceived, and bore Jacob a son.

6 ラケルいひけるは神我を監み亦わが聲を聽いれて吾に子をたまへりと是によりて其名をダンと名けたり

And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore she called his name Dan.

7 ラケルの仕女ビルハ再び姙みて次の子をヤコブに生ければ

And Bilhah, Rachel's maid, conceived again, and bore Jacob a second son.

8 ラケル我神の爭をもて姉と爭ひて勝ぬといひて其名をナフタリと名けたり

And Rachel said, With great wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed: and she called his name Naphtali.

9 茲にレア產ことの止たるを見しかば其仕女ジルパをとりて之をヤコブにあたへて妻となさしむ

When Leah saw that she had left bearing, she took Zilpah, her maid, and gave her Jacob for a wife.

10 レアの仕女ジルパ、ヤコブに子を產ければ

And Zilpah, Leah's maid, bore Jacob a son.

11 レア福來れりといひて其名をガドと名けたり

And Leah said, A troop cometh: and she called his name Gad.

12 レアの仕女ジルパ次子をヤコブに生ければ

And Zilpah, Leah's maid, bore Jacob a second son.

13 レアいふ我は幸なり女等我を幸なる者となさんと其名をアセルとなづけたり

And Leah said, Happy am I, for the daughters will call me blessed: and she called his name Asher.

14 茲に麥苅の日にルベン出ゆきて野にて戀茄を獲これを母レアの許にもちきたりければラケル、レアにいひけるは請ふ我に汝の子の戀茄をあたへよ

And Reuben went, in the days of wheat-harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them to his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, Give me, I pray thee, of thy son's mandrakes.

15 レア彼にいひけるは汝のわが夫を奪しは微き事ならんや然るに汝またわが子の戀茄をも奪んとするやラケルいふ然ば汝の子の戀茄のために夫是夜汝と寢べし

And she said to her, [Is it] a small matter that thou hast taken my husband? and wouldest thou take away my son's mandrakes also? And Rachel said, Therefore he shall lie with thee to-night for thy son's mandrakes.

16 晩におよびてヤコブ野より來りければレア之をいでむかへて言けるは我誠にわが子の戀茄をもて汝を雇ひたれば汝我の所にいらざるべからずヤコブ即ち其夜彼といねたり

And Jacob came from the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said, Thou must come in to me; for surely I have hired thee with my son's mandrakes. And he lay with her that night.

17 神レアに聽たまひければ彼妊みて第五の子をヤコブに生り

And God hearkened to Leah, and she conceived, and bore Jacob the fifth son.

18 レアいひけるは我わが仕女を夫に與へたれば神我に其値をたまへりと其名をイツサカルと名けたり

And Leah said, God hath given me my hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband: and she called his name Issachar.

19 レア復妊みて第六の子をヤコブに生り

And Leah conceived again, and bore Jacob the sixth son.

20 レアいひけるは神我に嘉賚を貺ふ我六人の男子を生たれば夫今より我と偕にすまんと其名をゼブルンとなづけたり

And Leah said, God hath endowed me [with] a good dower; now will my husband dwell with me, because I have borne him six sons: and she called his name Zebulun.

21 其後彼女子を生み其名をデナと名けたり

And afterwards she bore a daughter, and called her name Dinah.

22 茲に神ラケルを念ひ神彼に聽て其胎を開きたまひければ

And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and rendered her fruitful.

23 彼妊みて男子を生て曰ふ神わが恥辱を洒ぎたまへりと

And she conceived, and bore a son; and said, God hath taken away my reproach:

24 乃ち其名をヨセフと名けて言ふヱホバ又他の子を我に加へたまはん

And she called his name Joseph; and said, The LORD will add to me another son.

25 茲にラケルのヨセフを生むに及びてヤコブ、ラバンに言けるは我を歸して故郷に我國に往しめよ

And it came to pass, when Rachel had borne Joseph, that Jacob said to Laban, Send me away, that I may go to my own place, and to my country.

26 わが汝に事て得たる所の妻子を我に與へて我を去しめよわが汝になしたる役事は汝之を知るなり

Give [me] my wives and my children, for whom I have served thee, and let me go: for thou knowest my service which I have done thee.

27 ラバン彼にいひけるは若なんぢの意にかなはばねがはくは留れ我ヱホバが汝のために我を祝みしを卜ひ得たり

And Laban said to him, I pray thee, if I have found favor in thine eyes, [tarry: for] I have learned by experience, that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake.

28 又言ふ汝の望む値をのべよ我之を與ふべし

And he said, Appoint me thy wages, and I will give [it].

29 ヤコブ彼にいひけるは汝は如何にわが汝に事しか如何に汝の家畜を牧しかを知る

And he said to him, Thou knowest how I have served thee, and how thy cattle were with me.

30 わが來れる前に汝の有たる者は鮮少なりしが増て遂に群をなすに至る吾來りてよりヱホバ汝を祝みたまへり然ども我は何時吾家を成にいたらんや

For [it was] little which thou hadst before I [came], and it is [now] increased to a multitude; and the Lord hath blessed thee since my coming: and now when shall I provide for my own house also?

31 彼言ふ我何を汝に與へんかヤコブいひけるは汝何者をも我に與ふるに及ばず汝若此事を我になさば我復汝の群を牧守らん

And he said, What shall I give thee? And Jacob said, Thou shalt not give me any thing; if thou wilt do this thing for me, I will again feed [and] keep thy flock:

32 即ち我今日徧く汝の群をゆきめぐりて其中より凡て斑なる者點なる者を移し綿羊の中の凡て黑き者を移し山羊の中の點なる者と斑なる者を移さん是わが値なるべし

I will pass through all thy flock to-day, removing from thence all the speckled and spotted cattle, and all the brown cattle among the sheep, and the spotted and speckled among the goats: and [of such] shall be my hire.

33 後に汝來りてわが傭値をしらぶる時わが義我にかはりて應をなすべし若わが所に山羊の斑ならざる者點ならざる者あり綿羊の黑からざる者あらば皆盜る者となすべし

So shall my righteousness answer for me in time to come, when it shall come for my hire before thy face: every one that [is] not speckled and spotted among the goats, and brown among the sheep, that shall be accounted stolen with me.

34 ラバンいふ汝の言の如くなさんことを願ふ

And Laban said, Behold, I would it might be according to thy word.

35 是に於て彼其日牡山羊の斑入なる者斑點なる者を移し凡て牝山羊の斑駮なる者斑點なる者都て身に白色ある者を移し又綿羊の中の凡て黑き者を移して其子等の手に付せり

And he removed that day the he-goats that were ring-streaked and spotted, and all the she-goats that were speckled and spotted; every one that had [some] white in it, and all the brown among the sheep, and gave [them] into the hands of his sons.

36 而して彼己とヤコブの間に三日程の隔をたてたりヤコブはラバンの餘の群を牧ふ

And he set three days' journey between himself and Jacob: and Jacob fed the rest of Laban's flocks.

37 茲にヤコブ楊柳と楓と桑の靑枝を執り皮を剥て白紋理を成り枝の白き所をあらはし

And Jacob took to him rods of green poplar, and of the hazel and chesnut-tree; and peeled white streaks in them, and made the white appear which [was] in the rods.

38 其皮をはぎたる枝を群の來りて飮むところの水槽と水鉢に立て群に向はしめ群をして水のみの來る時に孕ましむ

And he set the rods, which he had peeled, before the flocks in the gutters in the watering-troughs, when the flocks came to drink, that they should conceive when they came to drink.

39 群すなはち枝の前に孕みて斑入の者斑駮なる者斑點なる者を產しかば

And the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth cattle ring-streaked, speckled, and spotted.

40 ヤコブ其羔羊を區分ちラバンの群の面を其群の斑入なる者と黑き者に對はしめたりしが己の群をば一所に置てラバンの群の中にいれざりき

And Jacob separated the lambs, and set the faces of the flocks towards the ring-streaked, and all the brown in the flock of Laban: and he put his own flocks by themselves, and put them not with Laban's cattle.

41 又家畜の壯健き者孕みたる時はヤコブ水槽の中にて其家畜の目の前に彼枝を置き枝の傍において孕ましむ

And it came to pass, whenever the stronger cattle conceived, that Jacob laid the rods before the eyes of the cattle in the gutters, that they might conceive among the rods.

42 然ど家畜の羸弱かる時は之を置ず是に因て羸弱者はラバンのとなり壯健者はヤコブのとなれり

But when the cattle were feeble, he put [them] not in: so the feebler were Laban's, and the stronger Jacob's.

43 是に於て其人大に富饒になりて多の家畜と婢僕および駱駝驢馬を有にいたれり

And the man increased exceedingly, and had many cattle, and maid-servants, and men-servants, and camels, and asses.
