テサロニケ人への手紙第二 2
1 さて兄弟たちよ。私たちの主イエス・キリストが再び来られることと、私たちが主のみもとに集められることに関して、あなたがたにお願いすることがあります。
Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to Him, we urge you
2 霊によってでも、あるいはことばによってでも、あるいは私たちから出たかのような手紙によってでも、主の日がすでに来たかのように言われるのを聞いて、すぐに落ち着きを失ったり、心を騒がせたりしないでください。
not to be quickly shaken from your conviction or disturbed, whether by a spirit or a word or a letter as from us, as though the Day of Christ has come.
3 だれにも、どのようにも、だまされないようにしなさい。なぜなら、まず背教が起こり、不法の人、すなわち滅びの子が現われなければ、主の日は来ないからです。
Do not let anyone deceive you by any means; because that day cannot come unless the rebellion comes first and the man of sin is revealed, the son of ruin,
4 彼は、すべて神と呼ばれるもの、また礼拝されるものに反抗し、その上に自分を高く上げ、神の宮の中に座を設け、自分こそ神であると宣言します。
who opposes and exalts himself over everything that is called a god or an object of worship, to the point of taking his seat as God in God's sanctuary, proclaiming himself to be God.
5 私がまだあなたがたのところにいたとき、これらのことをよく話しておいたのを思い出しませんか。
(Don't you remember that I used to tell you these things while still with you?)
6 あなたがたが知っているとおり、彼がその定められた時に現われるようにと、いま引き止めているものがあるのです。
So now you know what is restraining, to the end that he may be revealed at his own time.
7 不法の秘密はすでに働いています。しかし今は引き止める者があって、自分が取り除かれる時まで引き止めているのです。
For the mystery of the lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He removes Himself.
8 その時になると、不法の人が現われますが、主は御口の息をもって彼を殺し、来臨の輝きをもって滅ぼしてしまわれます。
And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and abolish by the splendor of His coming;
9 不法の人の到来は、サタンの働きによるのであって、あらゆる偽りの力、しるし、不思議がそれに伴い、
that one's coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 また、滅びる人たちに対するあらゆる悪の欺きが行なわれます。なぜなら、彼らは救われるために真理への愛を受け入れなかったからです。
and with all wicked deception among those who are wasting themselves, because they did not receive the love of the truth so that they might be saved.
11 それゆえ神は、彼らが偽りを信じるように、惑わす力を送り込まれます。
Yes, because of this God will send them an active delusion so that they will believe the lie
12 それは、真理を信じないで、悪を喜んでいたすべての者が、さばかれるためです。
and so that all may be condemned who have not believed the truth but have taken pleasure in wickedness.
13 しかし、あなたがたのことについては、私たちはいつでも神に感謝しなければなりません。主に愛されている兄弟たち。神は、御霊によるきよめと、真理による信仰によって、あなたがたを、初めから救いにお選びになったからです。
Now we are obligated to always give thanks to God about you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you into salvation, through sanctification of spirit and belief in truth,
14 ですから神は、私たちの福音によってあなたがたを召し、私たちの主イエス・キリストの栄光を得させてくださったのです。
to which He called you through our gospel, so as to obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 そこで、兄弟たち。堅く立って、私たちのことば、または手紙によって教えられた言い伝えを守りなさい。
So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, whether by word or by letter.
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope, by grace, (aiōnios g166)
17 あらゆる良いわざとことばとに進むよう、あなたがたの心を慰め、強めてくださいますように。
encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good word and work.
