< Orekma 7 >

1 Mwet Tol Fulat el siyuk sel Stephen, “Ya pwaye ma mwet inge fahk keim uh?”
Then said the high priest, Are these things so?
2 Ac Stephen el fahk, “Mwet lili ac papa an, kowos porongeyu! Meet liki Abraham, papa matu tumasr, el tuh som ac muta lac Haran, God lun wolana El sikyang nu sel in acn Mesopotamia,
And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran,
And said to him, Depart from thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall show thee.
Tukun papa tumal Abraham ah misa, God El sap elan tuku nu in acn se ma kowos muta we inge.
Then he came from the land of the Chaldeans, and dwelt in Haran: and from there, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, in which ye now dwell.
5 God El tiana sang kutu srisrik ipin acn inge nu sel Abraham in pacl sac tuh in ma lal. Tusruktu God El tuh wuleang mu El ac fah sang acn inge lal, oayapa nu sin fwilin tulik natul. In pacl se God El orala wulela se inge, wangin tulik natul Abraham.
And he gave him no inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on: yet he promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his offspring after him, when as yet he had no child.
6 Pa inge ma God El fahk nu sel: ‘Fita lom uh ac fah muta in sie facl sac, yen elos ac fah mwet kohs we, ac elos ac fah akkeokyeyuk ke lusen yac angfoko.
And God spoke in this way, That his offspring should sojourn in a foreign land; and that they should bring them into bondage, and oppress them four hundred years.
7 Tusruk nga ac fah nununku mwet ma ac akkeokyalos uh, na tok elos ac illa liki facl se ingo ac alu nu sik in facl se inge.’
And the nation to whom they shall be in bondage will I judge, said God: and after that they shall come forth, and serve me in this place.
And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.
9 “Joseph el sie sin mwet matu pwengpeng lasr, ac tamulel lal elos sok sel ac kukakunulla tuh elan sie mwet kohs in acn Egypt. Tusruktu, God El welul
And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,
10 ac karinganulang ke mwe ongoiya nukewa nu sel. Ke Joseph el utukyak nu ye mutal Pharoah, tokosra lun Egypt, God El sang ohi ac lalmwetmet nu sel, na tokosra sac el oakilya Joseph tuh elan governor fin acn we, ac oayapa fin mwet nukewa inkul fulat lun tokosra.
And delivered him from all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.
Mwet matu lasr elos tuh tia ku in konauk mwe mongo,
Now there came a famine over all the land of Egypt and Canaan, and great affliction: and our fathers found no sustenance.
12 ac ke Jacob el lohngak lah oasr wheat in acn Egypt, el supwala wen natul, aok papa matu tumasr, ke fahsr se meet lalos nu we.
But when Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt, he sent out our fathers first.
And at the second time Joseph was made known to his brethren; and Joseph’s kindred was made known to Pharaoh.
14 Na Joseph el sapla nu sel Jacob, papa tumal, ac fahk tuh el ac sou lal in tuku nu Egypt — mwet itngoul limekosr nufon.
Then Joseph sent, and called his father Jacob to him, and all his kindred, seventy and five souls.
15 Na Jacob el oatula som nu Egypt, yen ma el, ac papa matu tumasr, misa we.
So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he, and our fathers,
And were carried over into Shechem, and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money of the sons of Emmor the father of Shechem.
17 “Ke apkuran me pacl se ma God El tuh wuleang kac nu sel Abraham ah, pisen mwet lasr in acn Egypt arulana puseni.
But when the time of the promise drew near, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,
18 Fahsr nwe sie tokosra su tia etu kacl Joseph el mutawauk in leum fin acn Egypt.
Till another king arose, who knew not Joseph.
19 El kiapwela mwet matu lasr, ac arulana sulallal nu selos, ac el orek sap ku nu selos in sisla tulik fusr natulos liki lohm selos elos in misa.
The same dealt treacherously with our kindred, and oppressed our fathers, so that they cast out their young children, to the end they might not live.
Mwet in lohm sel uh liyalang ke malem tolu,
In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished in his father’s house three months:
21 ac ke sisila el liki lohm sel ah, acn se natul tokosra nutella ac tufahlla oana in ma na natul.
And when he was cast out, Pharaoh’s daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.
22 Lutiyuk el ke kain in etauk nukewa lun mwet Egypt, ac el sie mwet arulana pah in kas ac ku ke orekma.
And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.
23 “Ke Moses el yac angngaul matwal, el nunkauk in som liye lah mwet Israel wial uh fuka.
And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel.
And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian:
25 El nunku mu mwet lal uh ac kalem kac lah God El orekmakunul in aksukosokyalosla, tuh elos tiana kalem kac.)
For he supposed his brethren to understand that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not.
26 In len tok ah el liye ke mwet Israel luo anwuk, na el srike in akmisyeltalla, ac el fahk nu seltal, ‘Porongeyu. Komtal kewa mwet Israel, na efu ku komtal anwuk angan?’
And the next day he showed himself to them as they were fighting, and would have constrained them to be at peace again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one to another?
27 Tusruktu mwet se ma oru koluk mwet se ngia el sinukunulla Moses ac siyuk sel, ‘Su oru kom in leum facsr ac nununkekut uh?
But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us?
Wilt thou kill me, as thou didst the Egyptian yesterday?
29 Ke Moses el lohng kas inge, el kaingla liki acn Egypt ac som muta in facl Midian. Ke el muta we, oasr wen luo natul we.
Then Moses fled at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Midian, where he begat two sons.
And when forty years had passed, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sinai an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.
When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the Lord came to him,
32 ‘Nga God lun papa matu tomom somla — God lal Abraham, Isaac, ac Jacob.’ Moses el rarrar ke sangeng, ac tia ku in ngetang nu kac.
Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and dared not behold.
33 Ac Leum God El fahk nu sel, ‘Eisla fahluk lom an, tuh acn se kom tu we inge acn mutal se.
Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground.
34 Nga liye lupan ongoiya lun mwet luk in acn Egypt. Nga lohng sasao lalos, ac inge nga oatui in molelosla. Fahsru, ac nga fah supwekomla nu Egypt.’
I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt.
35 “Moses se inge pa mwet Israel tuh srangesr lohngol, ac fahk nu sel mu, ‘Su oru kom in leum facsr ac nununkekut uh?’ El pa mwet se ma God El supwala in tuh kol mwet uh, ac molelosla ke kasru lun lipufan se su sikyang nu sel in e se ma firir in sak srisrik soko ah.
This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush.
36 El kolla mwet uh liki acn Egypt, orek mwenmen ac ma sakirik in acn Egypt ac in Meoa Srusra, ac oayapa in acn mwesis uh ke yac angngaul.
He brought them out, after he had showed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.
37 Moses se inge pa mwet se ma tuh fahk nu sin mwet Israel, ‘God El ac fah supwama mwet palu se nu suwos, oana ke El tuh supweyume, ac el ac fah mau sie mwet in mutunfacl suwos.’
This is that Moses, who said to the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up to you of your brethren, like me; him shall ye hear.
38 El pa tuh wi u na lulap se lun mwet Israel su toeni in acn mwesis; el tuh wi mwet matu lasr muta we, ac wi pac lipufan se ma tuh kaskas nu sel fineol Sinai, ac el tuh eis kas moul lun God in tafwema nu sesr.
This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him on the mount Sinai, and with our fathers: who received the living oracles to give to us:
39 “Tusruktu mwet matu lasr elos tia lungse aksol Moses. Elos sisella ac kena folokla nu Egypt.
Whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,
40 Ouinge elos fahk nu sel Aaron, ‘Orala kutu god ah in kol kut.
Saying to Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him.
41 In pacl sac pa elos tuh orala ma sruloala se in luman cow mukul soko, ac orek kisa nu kac, ac orek kufwa in akfulatye ma se elos sifacna orala.
And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice to the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.
42 Ke sripa se inge God El tuh ngetla lukelos, ac eisalosyang in alu nu ke itu inkusrao uh, oana ma fahkak in Ma Simusla lun mwet palu uh, su fahk: ‘Kowos mwet Israel! Ma kowos uniya ac kisakin Ke yac angngaul in acn mwesis ah, Kowos tia oru nu sik.
Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices for forty years in the wilderness?
43 Lohm nuknuk lal god Molech ah pa kowos tuh us forfor ah, Ac ma sruloala in lumal Rephan, god itu lowos; Ma inge kewa ma sruloala ma kowos orala tuh kowos in alu nu kac. Ouinge nga ac fah supwekowosla nu in sruoh nu in sie acn loes liki acn Babylon.’
Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Molech, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.
44 “Mwet matu lasr elos tuh us Lohm Nuknuk su Nien Muta lun Leum God welulos yen mwesis ah. Tuh orekla oana ke God El fahk nu sel Moses, ac fal nu ke srikasrak ma itukyang Moses el liye ah.
Our fathers had the tabernacle of testimony in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking to Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.
45 Tok, mwet matu lasr elos tuh eis lohm nuknuk sacna, ma papa tumalos tuh sang nu selos, ac elos us welulos ke elos tuh welul Joshua sruokya acn sin mutanfahl ma God El tuh lusak ye mutalos. Na lohm nuknuk sac oanna we nwe ke pacl lal David.
Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Joshua into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers, to the days of David;
46 God El tuh insewowo sel David, ac David el siyuk God Elan lela nu sel in musai sie lohm sin God lal Jacob.
Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.
But Solomon built for him an house.
48 “Tusruktu God Fulatlana El tia muta in lohm ma orekla ke poun mwet; oana ke mwet palu el fahk,
Yet the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,
49 ‘Leum God El fahk, Kusrao nien muta fulat luk, Ac faclu ma loangeyen niuk. Lohm fuka se kowos ac musaela sik an? Pia acn nga ac muta we uh?
Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build for me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?
50 Ya tia nga pa orala ma inge nukewa uh?’”
Hath not my hand made all these things?
51 Ac Stephen el fahk, “Seyal kowos arulana likkeke ac lohsr insiowos! Kowos mwet srangesr lohng kas sin God me! Kowos wi pac lain Ngun Mutal oana mwet matu lowos somla!
Ye stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Spirit: as your fathers did, so do ye.
52 Ku oasr mwet palu ma mwet matu lowos ah tuh tia akkeokye? Elos tuh uniya mwet utuk kas lun God su fahkak oemeet ke Mwet Kulansap suwoswos se lun God su ac tuku. Ac inge kowos tukakunulak ac unilya.
Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them who showed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:
53 Kowos pa tuh eis Ma Sap lun God su tutafme sin lipufan ah — ne ouinge, a kowos tiana akos!”
Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.
54 Ke Un Mwet Pwapa Fulat elos lohng kas lal Stephen, elos arulana foloyak ac ngalseni wihselos ke kasrkusrak lalos sel.
When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.
But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
56 Na el fahk, “Ngetak liye! Nga liye kusrao ikakla, ac Wen nutin Mwet el tu lac po layot sin God!”
And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
57 Un Mwet Pwapa Fulat uh wola ke sie pusra lulap ac fonosya insraclos. Na elos nufon tukenina yuyang nu sel,
Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,
58 sisella nu likin siti uh, ac mutawauk in tanglal. Mwet orek loh lainul elos filiya nuknuk lik lalos yurin sie mwet fusr pangpang Saul.
And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul.
59 Elos nuna tanglal na Stephen ke el pang nu sin Leum ac fahk, “Leum Jesus, eis ngunik!”
And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
