1 Hi quoque venerunt ad David in Siceleg, cum adhuc fugeret Saul filium Cis, qui erant fortissimi et egregii pugnatores,
And these [were] the [ones who] came to David to Ziklag still kept back from before Saul [the] son of Kish and they [were] among the warriors [who] helped of the war.
2 tendentes arcum, et utraque manu fundis saxa iacientes, et dirigentes sagittas: de fratribus Saul ex Beniamin.
[they were] equipped of Bow using right [hand] and using left [hand] with stones and with arrows with the bow some of [the] relatives of Saul from Benjamin.
3 Princeps Ahiecer, et Ioas filii Samaa Gabaathites, et Iaziel, et Phallet filii Azmoth, et Baracha, et Iehu Anathotites.
The chief Ahiezer and Joash [the] sons of the Shemaahite the Gibeathite (and Jeziel *QK) and Pelet [the] sons of Azmaveth and Berachah and Jehu the Anathothite.
4 Samaias quoque Gabaonites fortissimus inter triginta et super triginta. Ieremias, et Ieheziel, et Iohanan, et Iezabad Gaderothites,

8 Sed et de Gaddi transfugerunt ad David, cum lateret in deserto, viri robustissimi, et pugnatores optimi, tenentes clypeum et hastam: facies eorum quasi facies leonis, et veloces quasi capreæ in montibus:

14 Hi de filiis Gad principes exercitus: novissimus centum militibus præerat, et maximus, mille.
These [were] of [the] descendants of Gad [the] chiefs of the army one to a hundred the little and the great to a thousand.

17 Egressusque est David obviam eis, et ait: Si pacifice venistis ad me ut auxiliemini mihi, cor meum iungatur vobis: si autem insidiamini mihi pro adversariis meis, cum ego iniquitatem in manibus non habeam, videat Deus patrum nostrorum, et iudicet.
And he went out David before them and he answered and he said to them if to peace you have come to me to help me it will belong to me towards you a heart for unity and if to betray me to foes my with not violence in hands my may he see [the] God of ancestors our and may he judge.
18 Spiritus vero induit Amasai principem inter triginta, et ait: Tui sumus, o David, et tecum, fili Isai: pax, pax tibi, et pax adiutoribus tuis. Te enim adiuvat Deus tuus. Suscepit ergo eos David, et constituit principes turmæ.
And a spirit it clothed Amasai [the] chief of (the officers *QK) to you O David and with you O son of Jesse peace - peace [be] to you and peace [be] to [one who] helps you for he has helped you God your and he received them David and he appointed them [the] chiefs of the marauding band.
19 Porro de Manasse transfugerunt ad David, quando veniebat cum Philisthiim adversus Saul, ut pugnaret: et non dimicavit cum eis. Quia inito consilio remiserunt eum principes Philisthinorum, dicentes: Periculo capitis nostri revertetur ad dominum suum Saul.
And some of Manasseh they fell on David when went he with [the] Philistines on Saul for battle and not they helped them for by plan they sent away him [the] rulers of [the] Philistines saying by heads our he will fall to lord his Saul.
20 Quando igitur reversus est in Siceleg, transfugerunt ad eum de Manasse, Ednas, et Iozabad, et Iedihel, et Michael, et Ednas, et Iozabad, et Eliu, et Salathi, principes millium in Manasse.
When went he to Ziklag they fell on him - some of Manasseh Adnach and Jozabad and Jediael and Michael and Jozabad and Elihu and Zillethai [the] chiefs of the thousands who [belonged] to Manasseh.
21 Hi præbuerunt auxilium David adversus latrunculos: omnes enim erant viri fortissimi, et facti sunt principes in exercitu.
And they they helped with David on the marauding band[s] for [were] mighty [men] of strength all of them and they were commanders in the army.
22 Sed et per singulos dies veniebant ad David ad auxiliandum ei, usque dum fieret grandis numerus, quasi exercitus Dei.
For to a time of a day in a day they came to David to help him until to a camp great like [the] camp of God.
23 Iste quoque est numerus principum exercitus, qui venerunt ad David, cum esset in Hebron, ut transferrent regnum Saul ad eum, iuxta verbum Domini.
And these [are] [the] numbers of [the] chiefs of the [man] equipped for war [who] they came to David Hebron towards to turn over [the] kingdom of Saul to him according to [the] mouth of Yahweh.
24 Filii Iuda portantes clypeum et hastam, sex millia octingenti expediti ad prælium.
[the] descendants of Judah bearers of shield and spear six thousand and eight hundred [men] equipped of war.
25 De filiis Simeon virorum fortissimorum ad pugnandum, septem millia centum.
Of [the] descendants of Simeon mighty [men] of strength for war seven thousand and one hundred.
26 De filiis Levi, quattuor millia sexcenti.
Of [the] descendants of the Levite[s] four thousand and six hundred.
27 Ioioda quoque princeps de stirpe Aaron, et cum eo tria millia septingenti.
And Jehoiada [was] the leader of Aaron and [were] with him three thousand and seven hundred.
28 Sadoc etiam puer egregiæ indolis, et domus patris eius, principes viginti duo.
And Zadok a young man mighty of strength and [the] house of father his commanders twenty and two.
29 De filiis autem Beniamin fratribus Saul, tria millia: magna enim pars eorum adhuc sequebatur domum Saul.
And of [the] descendants of Benjamin [the] relatives of Saul three thousand and until now greater part their [were] keeping [the] duty of [the] house of Saul.
30 Porro de filiis Ephraim viginti millia octingenti, fortissimi robore, viri nominati in cognationibus suis.
And of [the] descendants of Ephraim twenty thousand and eight hundred mighty [men] of strength men of names of [the] house of ancestors their.
31 Et ex dimidia tribu Manasse, decem et octo millia, singuli per nomina sua venerunt ut constituerent regem David.
And of [the] half of [the] tribe of Manasseh eight-teen thousand who they had been designated by names to come to make king David.
32 De filiis quoque Issachar viri eruditi, qui noverant singula tempora ad præcipiendum quid facere deberet Israel, principes ducenti: omnis autem reliqua tribus eorum consilium sequebatur.
And of [the] descendants of Issachar [those who] knew understanding of the times to know what? will it do Israel chiefs their two hundred and all relatives their [were] on mouth their.
33 Porro de Zabulon qui egrediebantur ad prælium, et stabant in acie instructi armis bellicis, quinquaginta millia venerunt in auxilium, non in corde duplici.

And from [the] other side of the Jordan of the Reubenite[s] and the Gadite[s] and [the] half of - [the] tribe of Manasseh with all weapons of war of battle one hundred and twenty thousand.
38 Omnes isti viri bellatores expediti ad pugnandum, corde perfecto venerunt in Hebron, ut constituerent regem David super universum Israel: sed et omnes reliqui ex Israel, uno corde erant, ut rex fieret David.
All these [were] men of war helpers of a battle line with a heart complete they came Hebron towards to make king David over all Israel and also all [the] remainder of Israel a heart one to make king David.
39 Fueruntque ibi apud David tribus diebus comedentes et bibentes. Præparaverant enim eis fratres sui.
And they were there with David days three eating and drinking for they had prepared for them relatives their.
40 Sed et qui iuxta eos erant, usque ad Issachar, et Zabulon, et Nephthali, afferebant panes in asinis, et camelis, et mulis, et bobus ad vescendum: farinam, palathas, uvam passam, vinum, oleum, boves, arietes ad omnem copiam. Gaudium quippe erat in Israel.
And also the [people] near to them to Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali [were] bringing food on donkeys and on camels and on mules - and on ox[en] food flour fig cakes and bunches of raisins and wine and oil and ox[en] and sheep to abundance for joy [was] in Israel.
