< Ohabolana 28 >

1 Ny ratsy fanahy mandositra, na dia tsy misy manenjika aza; Fa ny marina kosa dia matoky toy ny liona tanora.
The wicked flee when no man pursueth; but the righteous are bold as a lion.
2 Ny fahotan’ ny tany mahamaro mpanapaka; Fa ny fisian’ ny olona manan-tsaina kosa no mampahateza ny fanjakana.
By the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof; but by a man of understanding [and] of knowledge, [its] stability is prolonged.
3 Ny malahelo izay mampahory ny mahantra Dia toy ny ranonorana izay manindao ka tsy maha-misy hanina.
A poor man who oppresseth the helpless is a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
4 Izay mahafoy ny lalàna dia mandoka ny ratsy fanahy; Fa izay mitandrina ny lalàna dia mirehitra amin’ ny fanoherana azy.
They that forsake the law praise the wicked; but such as keep the law contend with them.
5 Ny ratsy fanahy dia tsy mahalala rariny; Fa izay mitady an’ i Jehovah no mahalala ny zavatra rehetra.
Evil men understand not judgment; but they that seek Jehovah understand everything.
6 Ny malahelo izay mandeha amin’ ny fahitsiany Dia tsara noho ny manan-karena izay mivadika ka mandeha amin’ ny lalana miolikolika.
Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse, double in ways, though he be rich.
7 Izay mitandrina ny lalàna no zanaka hendry; Fa izay misakaiza amin’ ny mpandany harena dia manome henatra ny rainy.
Whoso observeth the law is a son that hath understanding; but he that is a companion of profligates bringeth shame to his father.
8 Izay mampitombo ny fananany amin’ ny zana-bola sy ny tombony Dia mamory ho an’ izay miantra ny malahelo
He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance gathereth it for him that is gracious to the poor.
9 Izay manentsin-tadiny tsy hihaino ny lalàna, Na ny fivavahany aza dia fahavetavetana.
He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.
10 Izay mampivily ny mahitsy ho amin’ ny lalan-dratsy Dia ho lavo amin’ ny lavaka nataony; Fa ny tsy misy tsiny no handova ny soa.
Whoso causeth the upright to go astray in an evil way, shall himself fall into his own pit; but the perfect shall inherit good.
11 Ny manan-karena manao azy ho hendry; Fa ny malahelo izay manan-tsaina dia hizaha toetra azy.
A rich man is wise in his own eyes; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
12 Raha ravoravo ny marina, dia be ny famirapiratana; Fa raha misandratra kosa ny ratsy fanahy, dia miery ny vahoaka.
When the righteous triumph, there is great glory; but when the wicked rise, men conceal themselves.
13 Izay manafina ny fahotany tsy hambinina; Fa izay mitsotra ka mahafoy azy no hahazo famindram-po.
He that covereth his transgressions shall not prosper; but whoso confesseth and forsaketh [them] shall obtain mercy.
14 Sambatra izay olona matahotra mandrakariva; Fa izay manamafy ny fony no hidiran-doza.
Happy is the man that feareth always; but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into evil.
15 Liona mierona sy bera miremby Ny mpanapaka ratsy fanahy amin’ ny olona reraka.
A roaring lion, and a ranging bear, is a wicked ruler over a poor people.
16 Ny mpanapaka tsy ampy saina dia mahery mampahory; Izay mankahala ny fieremana no ho ela velona.
The prince void of intelligence is also a great oppressor: he that hateth covetousness shall prolong [his] days.
17 Izay itambesaran-keloka noho ny fandatsahan-drà dia handositra hatrany an-davaka; Aoka tsy hisy hihazona azy.
A man laden with the blood of [any] person, fleeth to the pit: let no man stay him.
18 Izay mandeha tsy misy tsiny no ho voavonjy; Fa izay mivadika ka mandeha amin’ ny lalana miolikolika no ho lavo tampoka.
Whoso walketh in integrity shall be saved; but he that is perverted in [his] double ways, shall fall in one [of them].
19 Izay miasa ny taniny dia ho voky hanina Fa izay manaraka ny olom-poana ho voky alahelo kosa.
He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread; but he that followeth the worthless shall have poverty enough.
20 Izay olona mahatoky tokoa dia ho be fitahiana; Fa izay maimay ta-hanan-karena dia tsy maintsy hohelohina.
A faithful man aboundeth with blessings; but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.
21 Tsy mety raha mizaha tavan’ olona; Kanefa na dia amin’ ny sombin-kanina ihany aza dia sahin’ ny olona hanotana.
To have respect of persons is not good; but for a piece of bread will a man transgress.
22 Ny mpialona dia maimay ta-hanan-karena; Tsy fantany fa hanjo azy ny alahelo.
He that hath an evil eye hasteth after wealth, and knoweth not that poverty shall come upon him.
23 Izay mananatra olona no hahazo fitia be rahatrizay Noho izay mandrobo amin’ ny lelany.
He that rebuketh a man shall afterwards find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.
24 Izay mandroba ray sy reny Ka manao hoe: Tsy heloka izany, Dia naman’ ny mpanimba.
Whoso robbeth his father and his mother, and saith, It is no transgression, the same is the companion of a destroyer.
25 Izay mierina manetsika ady; Fa izay matoky an’ i Jehovah dia hohatavezina.
He that is puffed up in soul exciteth contention; but he that relieth upon Jehovah shall be made fat.
26 Izay matoky ny fony dia adala; Fa izay mandeha amin’ ny fahendrena no ho afa-miala.
He that confideth in his own heart is a fool; but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
27 Izay manome ny malahelo tsy hanan-java-mahory; Fa izay mitampi-maso hahazo ozona be;
He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack; but he that withdraweth his eyes shall have many a curse.
28 Raha misandratra ny ratsy fanahy, dia miery ny vahoaka; Fa raha ringana kosa izy, dia mihamaro ny marina.
When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous increase.
