ലൂക്കോസ് 16
1 പിന്നെ അവൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ധനവാനായോരു മനുഷ്യന്നു ഒരു കാൎയ്യവിചാരകൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ അവന്റെ വസ്തുവക നാനാവിധമാക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചിലർ അവനെ കുറ്റം പറഞ്ഞു.
To his disciples he said. "There was a certain rich man who had a steward, and this steward was accused to him of wasting his property.
2 അവൻ അവനെ വിളിച്ചു: നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഈ കേൾക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? നിന്റെ കാൎയ്യവിചാരത്തിന്റെ കണക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചുതരിക; നീ ഇനി കാൎയ്യവിചാരകനായിരിപ്പാൻ പാടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
"He called to him to him and said. "‘What is this that I hear about you? Render an account of your stewardship; for you can no longer be steward.’
3 എന്നാറെ കാൎയ്യവിചാരകൻ: ഞാൻ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു? യജമാനൻ കാൎയ്യവിചാരത്തിൽ നിന്നു എന്നെ നീക്കുവാൻ പോകുന്നു; കിളെപ്പാൻ എനിക്കു പ്രാപ്തിയില്ല; ഇരപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ നാണിക്കുന്നു.
"Now the steward said to himself. ‘What shall I do, now that my master is taking away my stewardship? I am not strong enough to dig, to beg I am ashamed.
4 എന്നെ കാൎയ്യവിചാരത്തിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിയാൽ അവർ എന്നെ തങ്ങളുടെ വീടുകളിൽ ചേൎത്തുകൊൾവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാൻ ചെയ്യേണ്ടതു എന്തു എന്നു എനിക്കു അറിയാം എന്നു ഉള്ളുകൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു.
"‘I know what I will do, so that when I am put out of my stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.’
5 പിന്നെ അവൻ യജമാനന്റെ കടക്കാരിൽ ഓരോരുത്തനെ വരുത്തി ഒന്നാമത്തവനോടു: നീ യജമാനന്നു എത്ര കടംപെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
"So he called to him each of his master’s debtors and said to the first, ‘How much money do you owe my master?’
6 നൂറു കുടം എണ്ണ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അവനോടു: നിന്റെ കൈച്ചീട്ടു വാങ്ങി വേഗം ഇരുന്നു അമ്പതു എന്നു എഴുതുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
"‘A hundred measures of oil,’ he answered. "He said to him, ‘Take your bill and sit down quickly and write fifty."
7 അതിന്റെ ശേഷം മറ്റൊരുത്തനോടു: നീ എത്ര കടം പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. നൂറു പറ കോതമ്പു എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു; അവനോടു: നിന്റെ കൈച്ചീട്ടു വാങ്ങി എണ്പതു എന്നു എഴുതുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
"To a second he said, ‘How much do you owe?’ "The man answered, ‘A hundred measures of wheat.’ "‘Here is you bill,’ he said, ‘change it to eighty measures.’
8 ഈ അനീതിയുള്ള കാൎയ്യവിചാരകൻ ബുദ്ധിയോടെ പ്രവൎത്തിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു യജമാനൻ അവനെ പുകഴ്ത്തി; വെളിച്ചമക്കളെക്കാൾ ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ മക്കൾ തങ്ങളുടെ തലമുറയിൽ ബുദ്ധിയേറിയവരല്ലോ. (aiōn g165)
"And the master praised the unjust steward because he had acted shrewdly; for the sons of this world are in relation to their own generation wiser than the sons of the light. (aiōn g165)
9 അനീതിയുള്ള മമ്മോനെക്കൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങൾക്കു സ്നേഹിതന്മാരെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിക്കൊൾവിൻ എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു. അതു ഇല്ലാതെയാകുമ്പോൾ അവർ നിത്യകൂടാരങ്ങളിൽ നിങ്ങളെ ചേൎത്തുകൊൾവാൻ ഇടയാകും. (aiōnios g166)
"And to you I say, Use mammon, dishonest as it is, to make yourselves friends, so that when it shall fail they will welcome you to the eternal tabernacles. (aiōnios g166)
10 അത്യല്പത്തിൽ വിശ്വസ്തനായവൻ അധികത്തിലും വിശ്വസ്തൻ; അത്യല്പത്തിൽ നീതികെട്ടവൻ അധികത്തിലും നീതി കെട്ടവൻ.
"The man who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much, and he who is unjust in a very little, is unjust also as much.
11 നിങ്ങൾ അനീതിയുള്ള മമ്മോനിൽ വിശ്വസ്തരായില്ല എങ്കിൽ സത്യമായതു നിങ്ങളെ ആർ ഭരമേല്പിക്കും?
"If therefore you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will trust to you the true riches?
12 അന്യമായതിൽ വിശ്വസ്തരായില്ല എങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു സ്വന്തമായതു ആർ തരും?
"And if you are not faithful with what belongs to another, who will give you what is your own?
13 രണ്ടു യജമാനന്മാരെ സേവിപ്പാൻ ഒരു ഭൃത്യന്നും കഴികയില്ല; അവൻ ഒരുവനെ പകെച്ചു മറ്റവനെ സ്നേഹിക്കും; അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഒരുത്തനോടു പറ്റിച്ചേൎന്നു മറ്റവനെ നിരസിക്കും. നിങ്ങൾക്കു ദൈവത്തെയും മമ്മോനെയും സേവിപ്പാൻ കഴികയില്ല.
"No one can be a household servants to two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will cling to the one and despise the other. You cannot be the slave of God and of Mammon."
14 ഇതൊക്കെയും ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹികളായ പരീശന്മാർ കേട്ടു അവനെ പരിഹസിച്ചു.
Now the Pharisees who loved money listened to all this and they jeered at him.
15 അവൻ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളെ തന്നേ മനുഷ്യരുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നീതീകരിക്കുന്നവർ ആകുന്നു; ദൈവമോ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയം അറിയുന്നു; മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഉന്നതമായതു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ അറെപ്പത്രേ.
He said to them. "You are those that justify themselves in the eyes of men; but God knows you hearts; for that which is lofty in the eyes of men is abomination in the eyes of God.
16 ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്റെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെയും കാലം യോഹന്നാൻ വരെ ആയിരുന്നു; അന്നുമുതൽ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ സുവിശേഷിച്ചുവരുന്നു; എല്ലാവരും ബലാല്ക്കാരേണ അതിൽ കടപ്പാൻ നോക്കുന്നു.
"The Law and the Prophet lasted until John; since then the gospel of the kingdom of God is preached, and any one presses in.
17 ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ ഒരു പുള്ളി വീണുപോകുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നതു എളുപ്പം.
"Yet it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away then for one title of the law to fail.
18 ഭാൎയ്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു മറ്റൊരുത്തിയെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഭൎത്താവു ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചവളെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നവനും വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു.
"Every man who divorces his wife and marries some one else, commits adultery; and he who marries one who is put away by her husband commits adultery.
19 ധനവാനായോരു മനുഷ്യൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ ധൂമ്രവസ്ത്രവും പട്ടും ധരിച്ചു ദിനമ്പ്രതി ആഡംബരത്തോടെ സുഖിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
"Now there was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen, and made merry every day in splendor.
20 ലാസർ എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു ദരിദ്രൻ വ്രണം നിറഞ്ഞവനായി അവന്റെ പടിപ്പുരക്കൽ കിടന്നു
"And a certain beggar named Lazarus was thrown at his door.
21 ധനവാന്റെ മേശയിൽ നിന്നു വീഴുന്നതു തിന്നു വിശപ്പടക്കുവാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു; നായ്ക്കളും വന്നു അവന്റെ വ്രണം നക്കും.
"He was full of sores, and longingly desired to be fed with the crumbs that fell from the rich man’s table. Yes! even the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 ആ ദരിദ്രൻ മരിച്ചപ്പോൾ ദൂതന്മാർ അവനെ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ മടിയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി.
"But in the course of time the beggar died; and he was carried by angels into Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died, and was buried.
23 ധനവാനും മരിച്ചു അടക്കപ്പെട്ടു; പാതാളത്തിൽ യാതന അനുഭവിക്കുമ്പോൾ മേലോട്ടു നോക്കി ദൂരത്തു നിന്നു അബ്രാഹാമിനെയും അവന്റെ മടിയിൽ ലാസരിനെയും കണ്ടു: (Hadēs g86)
"And as he was tormented in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom. (Hadēs g86)
24 അബ്രാഹാംപിതാവേ, എന്നോടു കനിവുണ്ടാകേണമേ; ലാസർ വിരലിന്റെ അറ്റം വെള്ളത്തിൽ മുക്കി എന്റെ നാവിനെ തണുപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവനെ അയക്കേണമേ; ഞാൻ ഈ ജ്വാലയിൽ കിടന്നു വേദന അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു എന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.
"And he cried out and said, ‘Father Abraham have mercy on me; and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’
25 അബ്രാഹാം: മകനേ, നിന്റെ ആയുസ്സിൽ നീ നന്മയും ലാസർ അവ്വണ്ണം തിന്മയും പ്രാപിച്ചു എന്നു ഓൎക്ക; ഇപ്പോൾ അവൻ ഇവിടെ ആശ്വസിക്കുന്നു: നീയോ വേദന അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു.
"‘Remember my son.’ said Abraham, ‘that you had in your lifetime all your good things, and in the same way Lazarus his evil things; but now here he is comforted, and you are in anguish.
26 അത്രയുമല്ല ഞങ്ങൾക്കും നിങ്ങൾക്കും നടുവെ വലിയോരു പിളൎപ്പുണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇവിടെ നിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ കടന്നുവരുവാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവൎക്കു കഴിവില്ല; അവിടെനിന്നു ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ കടന്നു വരുവാനും പാടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
"But besides all this, between us and you there is a great chasm fixed, so that those who want to cross from here to you cannot, nor can those who would cross from you to us.’
27 അതിന്നു അവൻ: എന്നാൽ പിതാവേ, അവനെ എന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ അയക്കേണമെന്നു ഞാൻ അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു;
"‘I beg you then, father,’ he said, ‘send him to my fathers house. For I have five brothers.
28 എനിക്കു അഞ്ചു സഹോദരന്മാർ ഉണ്ടു; അവരും ഈ യാതനാസ്ഥലത്തു വരാതിരിപ്പാൻ അവൻ അവരോടു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
"‘Let him earnestly warn them, lest they too come to this place of torment.’
29 അബ്രാഹാം അവനോടു: അവൎക്കു മോശെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; അവരുടെ വാക്കു അവർ കേൾക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
"But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets, let them listen to them.’
30 അതിന്നു അവൻ: അല്ലല്ല, അബ്രാഹാം പിതാവേ, മരിച്ചവരിൽനിന്നു ഒരുത്തൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവർ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
"‘Nay, Father Abraham,’ he said ‘but if some one went to them from the dead they would repent.’
31 അവൻ അവനോടു: അവർ മോശെയുടെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെയും വാക്കു കേൾക്കാഞ്ഞാൽ മരിച്ചവരിൽ നിന്നു ഒരുത്തൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ചെന്നാലും വിശ്വസിക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
"‘If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets,’ said Father Abraham, ‘neither will they be persuaded if one should rise from the dead.’"
