Provérbios 10
1 Proverbios de Salomão. O filho sabio alegra a seu pae, mas o filho louco é a tristeza de sua mãe.
The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father; But a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
2 Os thesouros da impiedade de nada aproveitam; porém a justiça livra da morte.
Treasures of wickedness profit nothing; But righteousness delivereth from death.
3 O Senhor não deixa ter fome a alma do justo, mas a fazenda dos impios rechaça.
Jehovah will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish; But he thrusteth away the desire of the wicked.
4 O que trabalha com mão enganosa empobrece, mas a mão dos diligentes enriquece.
He becometh poor that worketh with a slack hand; But the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
5 O que ajunta no verão é filho entendido, mas o que dorme na sega é filho que faz envergonhar.
He that gathereth in summer is a wise son; [But] he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
6 Bençãos ha sobre a cabeça do justo, mas a violencia cobre a bocca dos impios.
Blessings are upon the head of the righteous; But violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
7 A memoria do justo é abençoada, mas o nome dos impios apodrecerá.
The memory of the righteous is blessed; But the name of the wicked shall rot.
8 O sabio de coração acceita os mandamentos, mas o louco de labios será transtornado.
The wise in heart will receive commandments; But a prating fool shall fall.
9 Quem anda em sinceridade, anda seguro; mas o que perverte os seus caminhos será conhecido.
He that walketh uprightly walketh surely; But he that perverteth his ways shall be known.
10 O que acena com os olhos dá dôres, e o tolo de labios será transtornado.
He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow; But a prating fool shall fall.
11 A bocca do justo é fonte de vida, mas a bocca dos impios cobre a violencia.
The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life; But violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
12 O odio excita contendas, mas o amor cobre todas as transgressões.
Hatred stirreth up strifes; But love covereth all transgressions.
13 Nos labios do entendido se acha a sabedoria, mas a vara é para as costas do falto de entendimento.
In the lips of him that hath discernment wisdom is found; But a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
14 Os sabios escondem a sabedoria; mas a bocca do tolo está perto da ruina.
Wise men lay up knowledge; But the mouth of the foolish is a present destruction.
15 A fazenda do rico é a cidade da sua fortaleza: a pobreza dos pobres é a sua ruina.
The rich man’s wealth is his strong city: The destruction of the poor is their poverty.
16 A obra do justo conduz á vida, as novidades do impio ao peccado.
The labor of the righteous [tendeth] to life; The increase of the wicked, to sin.
17 O caminho para a vida é d'aquelle que guarda a correcção, mas o que deixa a reprehensão faz errar.
He is in the way of life that heedeth correction; But he that forsaketh reproof erreth.
18 O que encobre o odio tem labios falsos, e o que produz má fama é um insensato.
He that hideth hatred is of lying lips; And he that uttereth a slander is a fool.
19 Na multidão de palavras não ha falta de transgressão, mas o que modera os seus labios é prudente.
In the multitude of words there wanteth not transgression; But he that refraineth his lips doeth wisely.
20 Prata escolhida é a lingua do justo: o coração dos impios é de nenhum preço.
The tongue of the righteous is [as] choice silver: The heart of the wicked is little worth.
21 Os labios do justo apascentam a muitos, mas os tolos, por falta de entendimento, morrem.
The lips of the righteous feed many; But the foolish die for lack of understanding.
22 A benção do Senhor é a que enriquece; e não lhe accrescenta dôres.
The blessing of Jehovah, it maketh rich; And he addeth no sorrow therewith.
23 Como brincadeira é para o tolo fazer abominação, mas sabedoria para o homem entendido.
It is as sport to a fool to do wickedness; And [so is] wisdom to a man of understanding.
24 O temor do impio virá sobre elle, mas o desejo dos justos Deus lhe cumprirá.
The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him; And the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
25 Como passa a tempestade, assim o impio mais não é; mas o justo tem perpetuo fundamento.
When the whirlwind passeth, the wicked is no more; But the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
26 Como vinagre para os dentes, como o fumo para os olhos, assim é o preguiçoso para aquelles que o mandam.
As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, So is the sluggard to them that send him.
27 O temor do Senhor augmenta os dias, mas os annos dos impios serão abreviados.
The fear of Jehovah prolongeth days; But the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
28 A esperança dos justos é alegria, mas a expectação dos impios perecerá.
The hope of the righteous [shall be] gladness; But the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
29 O caminho do Senhor é fortaleza para os rectos, mas ruina será para os que obram iniquidade.
The way of Jehovah is a stronghold to the upright; But it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.
30 O justo nunca jámais será abalado, mas os impios não habitarão a terra.
The righteous shall never be removed; But the wicked shall not dwell in the land.
31 A bocca do justo em abundancia produz sabedoria, mas a lingua da perversidade será desarreigada.
The mouth of the righteous bringeth forth wisdom; But the perverse tongue shall be cut off.
32 Os beiços do justo sabem o que agrada, mas a bocca dos impios anda cheia de perversidades.
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable; But the mouth of the wicked [speaketh] perverseness.
