Lucas 23
1 Toda a empresa deles se levantou e o trouxe perante Pilate.
And the whole multitude of them, rising up, led him to Pilate.
2 Eles começaram a acusá-lo, dizendo: “Encontramos este homem pervertendo a nação, proibindo o pagamento de impostos a César, e dizendo que ele mesmo é Cristo, um rei”.
And they began to accuse him, saying, We have found this [man] perverting our nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ, a king.
3 Pilatos lhe perguntou: “Você é o Rei dos Judeus?” Ele lhe respondeu: “É o que você diz”.
And Pilate demanded of him saying, Art thou the king of the Jews? And he answering him said, Thou sayest.
4 Pilatos disse aos chefes dos sacerdotes e às multidões: “Não encontro nenhuma base para uma acusação contra este homem”.
And Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, I find no guilt in this man.
5 Mas eles insistiram, dizendo: “Ele estimula o povo, ensinando por toda a Judéia, começando da Galiléia até este lugar”.
But they insisted, saying, He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judaea, beginning from Galilee even on to here.
6 Mas quando Pilatos ouviu falar da Galileia, ele perguntou se o homem era galileu.
But Pilate, having heard Galilee [named], demanded if the man were a Galilaean;
7 Quando descobriu que estava na jurisdição de Herodes, ele o enviou a Herodes, que também estava em Jerusalém durante aqueles dias.
and having learned that he was of Herod's jurisdiction, remitted him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem in those days.
8 Agora, quando Herodes viu Jesus, estava muito contente, pois há muito tempo queria vê-lo, pois tinha ouvido muitas coisas a seu respeito. Ele esperava ver algum milagre ser feito por ele.
And when Herod saw Jesus he greatly rejoiced, for he had been a long while desirous of seeing him, because of hearing many things concerning him, and he hoped to see some sign done by him;
9 Ele o questionou com muitas palavras, mas não deu nenhuma resposta.
and he questioned him in many words, but he answered him nothing.
10 Os chefes dos sacerdotes e os escribas o acusaram veementemente.
And the chief priests and the scribes stood and accused him violently.
11 Herodes, com seus soldados, o humilhou e zombou dele. Vestindo-o com roupas luxuosas, eles o enviaram de volta a Pilatos.
And Herod with his troops having set him at nought and mocked him, having put a splendid robe upon him, sent him back to Pilate.
12 Herodes e Pilatos se tornaram amigos naquele mesmo dia, pois antes disso eram inimigos um do outro.
And Pilate and Herod became friends with one another the same day, for they had been at enmity before between themselves.
13 Pilatos reuniu os chefes dos sacerdotes, os governantes e o povo,
And Pilate, having called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,
14 e disse-lhes: “Vocês trouxeram este homem até mim como alguém que perverte o povo, e eis que, tendo-o examinado diante de vocês, não encontrei nenhuma base para uma acusação contra este homem em relação àquelas coisas das quais vocês o acusam.
said to them, Ye have brought to me this man as turning away the people [to rebellion], and behold, I, having examined him before you, have found nothing criminal in this man as to the things of which ye accuse him;
15 Nem Herodes, pois eu o enviei até ele, e veja, nada digno de morte foi feito por ele.
nor Herod either, for I remitted you to him, and behold, nothing worthy of death is done by him.
16 Portanto, vou castigá-lo e libertá-lo”.
Having chastised him therefore, I will release him.
17 Now ele teve que liberar um prisioneiro para eles na festa.
(Now he was obliged to release one for them at the feast.)
18 Mas todos eles gritaram juntos, dizendo: “Fora com este homem! Liberte-nos Barrabás” -
But they cried out in a mass saying, Away with this [man] and release Barabbas to us;
19 um que foi lançado na prisão por uma certa revolta na cidade, e por assassinato.
who was one who, for a certain tumult which had taken place in the city, and [for] murder, had been cast into prison.
20 Então Pilatos falou novamente com eles, querendo libertar Jesus,
Pilate therefore, desirous to release Jesus, again addressed [them].
21 mas eles gritaram, dizendo: “Crucificar! Crucifica-o!”
But they cried out in reply saying, Crucify, crucify him.
22 Ele disse a eles pela terceira vez: “Por quê? Que mal este homem fez? Eu não encontrei nele nenhum crime capital. Vou, portanto, castigá-lo e libertá-lo”.
And he said the third time to them, What evil then has this [man] done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will chastise him therefore and release him.
23 Mas eram urgentes com vozes altas, pedindo que ele fosse crucificado. Suas vozes e as vozes dos chefes dos sacerdotes prevaleceram.
But they were urgent with loud voices, begging that he might be crucified. And their voices [and those of the chief priests] prevailed.
24 Pilatos decretou que o que eles pediam deveria ser feito.
And Pilate adjudged that what they begged should take place.
25 Ele libertou aquele que havia sido lançado na prisão por insurreição e assassinato, por quem eles pediram, mas ele entregou Jesus à vontade deles.
And he released him who, for tumult and murder, had been cast into prison, whom they begged for, and Jesus he delivered up to their will.
26 Quando o levaram embora, pegaram um Simão de Cirene, vindo do país, e colocaram a cruz sobre ele para carregá-la depois de Jesus.
And as they led him away, they laid hold on a certain Simon, a Cyrenian, coming from the field, and put the cross upon him to bear it behind Jesus.
27 Uma grande multidão de pessoas o seguiu, inclusive mulheres que também o lamentaram e lamentaram.
And a great multitude of the people, and of women who wailed and lamented him, followed him.
28 Mas Jesus, voltando-se para elas, disse: “Filhas de Jerusalém, não chorem por mim, mas chorem por vocês mesmas e por seus filhos”.
And Jesus turning round to them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep over me, but weep over yourselves and over your children;
29 Pois eis que estão chegando os dias em que dirão: “Bem-aventurados os estéreis, os ventres que nunca choraram, e os seios que nunca amamentaram”.
for behold, days are coming in which they will say, Blessed [are] the barren, and wombs that have not borne, and breasts that have not given suck.
30 Então eles começarão a dizer às montanhas, 'Caiam sobre nós!' e dirão às colinas, 'Cubram-nos'.
Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall upon us; and to the hills, Cover us:
31 Pois se eles fizerem essas coisas na árvore verde, o que será feito na seca”?
for if these things are done in the green tree, what shall take place in the dry?
32 Havia também outros, dois criminosos, levados com ele para a morte.
Now two others also, malefactors, were led with him to be put to death.
33 Quando chegaram ao lugar chamado “A Caveira”, o crucificaram ali com os criminosos, um à direita e outro à esquerda.
And when they came to the place which is called Skull, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, the other on the left.
34 Jesus disse: “Pai, perdoa-lhes, pois eles não sabem o que estão fazendo”. Dividindo suas peças de vestuário entre eles, eles lançam à sorte.
And Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. And, parting out his garments, they cast lots.
35 O povo ficou de pé observando. Os governantes com eles também zombaram dele, dizendo: “Ele salvou outros”. Deixe-o salvar a si mesmo, se este é o Cristo de Deus, seu escolhido”!
And the people stood beholding, and the rulers also [with them] sneered, saying, He has saved others; let him save himself if this is the Christ, the chosen one of God.
36 Os soldados também escarneceram dele, vindo até ele e oferecendo-lhe vinagre,
And the soldiers also made game of him, coming up offering him vinegar,
37 e dizendo: “Se você é o Rei dos Judeus, salve-se!
and saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.
38 Uma inscrição também foi escrita sobre ele em letras gregas, latinas e hebraicas: “ESTE É O REI DOS JUDEUS”.
And there was also an inscription [written] over him in Greek, and Roman, and Hebrew letters: This is the King of the Jews.
39 Um dos criminosos que foi enforcado insultou-o, dizendo: “Se você é o Cristo, salve-se a si mesmo e a nós”!
Now one of the malefactors who had been hanged spoke insultingly to him, saying, Art not thou the Christ? save thyself and us.
40 Mas o outro respondeu, e repreendendo-o disse: “Você não teme sequer a Deus, vendo que está sob a mesma condenação?
But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost thou too not fear God, thou that art under the same judgment?
41 E nós, de fato, justamente, pois recebemos a devida recompensa por nossos atos, mas este homem não fez nada de errado”.
and we indeed justly, for we receive the just recompense of what we have done; but this [man] has done nothing amiss.
42 Ele disse a Jesus: “Senhor, lembra-te de mim quando vieres ao teu Reino”.
And he said to Jesus, Remember me, [Lord, ] when thou comest in thy kingdom.
43 Jesus lhe disse: “Com certeza eu lhe digo, hoje você estará comigo no Paraíso”.
And Jesus said to him, Verily I say to thee, To-day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
44 Era agora por volta da sexta hora, e a escuridão veio sobre toda a terra até a nona hora.
And it was about [the] sixth hour, and there came darkness over the whole land until [the] ninth hour.
45 O sol escureceu, e o véu do templo foi rasgado em dois.
And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple rent in the midst.
46 Jesus, chorando com voz alta, disse: “Pai, em tuas mãos entrego meu espírito”. Tendo dito isto, ele deu seu último suspiro.
And Jesus, having cried with a loud voice, said, Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit. And having said this, he expired.
47 Quando o centurião viu o que foi feito, ele glorificou a Deus, dizendo: “Certamente este era um homem justo”.
Now the centurion, seeing what took place, glorified God, saying, In very deed this man was just.
48 Todas as multidões que se reuniram para ver isto, quando viram as coisas que foram feitas, voltaram para casa batendo em seus peitos.
And all the crowds who had come together to that sight, having seen the things that took place, returned, beating [their] breasts.
49 Todos os seus conhecidos e as mulheres que o acompanharam desde a Galiléia ficaram à distância, observando estas coisas.
And all those who knew him stood afar off, the women also who had followed him from Galilee, beholding these things.
50 Eis que havia um homem chamado José, que era membro do conselho, um homem bom e justo
And behold, a man named Joseph, who was a councillor, a good man and a just
51 (ele não tinha consentido com seus conselhos e atos), de Arimatéia, cidade dos judeus, que também esperava o Reino de Deus.
(this [man] had not assented to their counsel and deed), of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews, who also waited, [himself also, ] for the kingdom of God
52 Este homem foi a Pilatos, e pediu o corpo de Jesus.
— he having gone to Pilate begged the body of Jesus;
53 Ele o tirou e o envolveu em um pano de linho, e o colocou em uma tumba que foi cortada em pedra, onde ninguém jamais havia sido deitado.
and having taken it down, wrapped it in fine linen and placed him in a tomb hewn in the rock, where no one had ever been laid.
54 Era o dia da Preparação, e o sábado estava se aproximando.
And it was preparation day, and [the] sabbath twilight was coming on.
55 As mulheres que tinham vindo com ele da Galiléia o seguiram, e viram o túmulo e como seu corpo foi depositado.
And women, who had come along with him out of Galilee, having followed, saw the sepulchre and how his body was placed.
56 Elas voltaram e prepararam especiarias e ungüentos. No sábado elas descansaram de acordo com o mandamento.
And having returned they prepared aromatic spices and ointments, and remained quiet on the sabbath, according to the commandment.
