੧ ਥਿਸ਼਼ਲਨੀਕਿਨਃ 5
1 ਹੇ ਭ੍ਰਾਤਰਃ, ਕਾਲਾਨ੍ ਸਮਯਾਂਸ਼੍ਚਾਧਿ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਮਮ ਲਿਖਨੰ ਨਿਸ਼਼੍ਪ੍ਰਯੋਜਨੰ,
But, concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, —ye have, no need, that, unto you, anything be written;
2 ਯਤੋ ਰਾਤ੍ਰੌ ਯਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਕ੍ ਤਸ੍ਕਰਸ੍ਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਕ੍ ਪ੍ਰਭੋ ਰ੍ਦਿਨਮ੍ ਉਪਸ੍ਥਾਸ੍ਯਤੀਤਿ ਯੂਯੰ ਸ੍ਵਯਮੇਵ ਸਮ੍ਯਗ੍ ਜਾਨੀਥ|
For, ye yourselves, perfectly well know—that, the day of the Lord, as a thief in the night, so, cometh;
3 ਸ਼ਾਨ੍ਤਿ ਰ੍ਨਿਰ੍ੱਵਿਨ੍ਘਤ੍ਵਞ੍ਚ ਵਿਦ੍ਯਤ ਇਤਿ ਯਦਾ ਮਾਨਵਾ ਵਦਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਨ੍ਤਿ ਤਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਵਵੇਦਨਾ ਯਦ੍ਵਦ੍ ਗਰ੍ੱਭਿਨੀਮ੍ ਉਪਤਿਸ਼਼੍ਠਤਿ ਤਦ੍ਵਦ੍ ਅਕਸ੍ਮਾਦ੍ ਵਿਨਾਸ਼ਸ੍ਤਾਨ੍ ਉਪਸ੍ਥਾਸ੍ਯਤਿ ਤੈਰੁੱਧਾਰੋ ਨ ਲਪ੍ਸ੍ਯਤੇ|
As soon as they begin to say—Peace! and safety! then, suddenly, upon them, cometh destruction, —just as the birth-throe unto her that is with child, —and in nowise shall they escape.
4 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਹੇ ਭ੍ਰਾਤਰਃ, ਯੂਯਮ੍ ਅਨ੍ਧਕਾਰੇਣਾਵ੍ਰੁʼਤਾ ਨ ਭਵਥ ਤਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍ ਤੱਦਿਨੰ ਤਸ੍ਕਰ ਇਵ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਸ੍ਯਤਿ|
But, ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that, the day, upon you, as upon thieves, should lay hold;
5 ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇ ਯੂਯੰ ਦੀਪ੍ਤੇਃ ਸਨ੍ਤਾਨਾ ਦਿਵਾਯਾਸ਼੍ਚ ਸਨ੍ਤਾਨਾ ਭਵਥ ਵਯੰ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਵੰਸ਼ਾਸ੍ਤਿਮਿਰਵੰਸ਼ਾ ਵਾ ਨ ਭਵਾਮਃ|
For, all ye, are, sons of light, and sons of day, —we are not of night, nor of darkness:
6 ਅਤੋ (ਅ)ਪਰੇ ਯਥਾ ਨਿਦ੍ਰਾਗਤਾਃ ਸਨ੍ਤਿ ਤਦ੍ਵਦ੍ ਅਸ੍ਮਾਭਿ ਰ੍ਨ ਭਵਿਤਵ੍ਯੰ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਜਾਗਰਿਤਵ੍ਯੰ ਸਚੇਤਨੈਸ਼੍ਚ ਭਵਿਤਵ੍ਯੰ|
Hence, then, let us not be sleeping, as the rest, but let us watch and be sober: —
7 ਯੇ ਨਿਦ੍ਰਾਨ੍ਤਿ ਤੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਯਾਮੇਵ ਨਿਦ੍ਰਾਨ੍ਤਿ ਤੇ ਚ ਮੱਤਾ ਭਵਨ੍ਤਿ ਤੇ ਰਜਨ੍ਯਾਮੇਵ ਮੱਤਾ ਭਵਨ੍ਤਿ|
For, they that sleep, by night, do sleep, and, they that drink, by night, do drink: —
8 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਵਯੰ ਦਿਵਸਸ੍ਯ ਵੰਸ਼ਾ ਭਵਾਮਃ; ਅਤੋ (ਅ)ਸ੍ਮਾਭਿ ਰ੍ਵਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਸਿ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯਯਪ੍ਰੇਮਰੂਪੰ ਕਵਚੰ ਸ਼ਿਰਸਿ ਚ ਪਰਿਤ੍ਰਾਣਾਸ਼ਾਰੂਪੰ ਸ਼ਿਰਸ੍ਤ੍ਰੰ ਪਰਿਧਾਯ ਸਚੇਤਨੈ ਰ੍ਭਵਿਤਵ੍ਯੰ|
But, we, being of the day, let us be sober, putting on a breastplate of faith and love, and, for helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 ਯਤ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰੋ(ਅ)ਸ੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੇ ਨ ਨਿਯੁਜ੍ਯਾਸ੍ਮਾਕੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁਨਾ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟੇਨ ਪਰਿਤ੍ਰਾਣਸ੍ਯਾਧਿਕਾਰੇ ਨਿਯੁਕ੍ਤਵਾਨ੍,
Because God did not appoint us unto anger, but unto acquiring salvation through our Lord Jesus [Christ]: —
10 ਜਾਗ੍ਰਤੋ ਨਿਦ੍ਰਾਗਤਾ ਵਾ ਵਯੰ ਯਤ੍ ਤੇਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੁਨਾ ਸਹ ਜੀਵਾਮਸ੍ਤਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਸੋ(ਅ)ਸ੍ਮਾਕੰ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਨ੍ ਤ੍ਯਕ੍ਤਵਾਨ੍|
Who died for us, in order that, whether we be watching or sleeping, together with him, we should live.
11 ਅਤਏਵ ਯੂਯੰ ਯਦ੍ਵਤ੍ ਕੁਰੁਥ ਤਦ੍ਵਤ੍ ਪਰਸ੍ਪਰੰ ਸਾਨ੍ਤ੍ਵਯਤ ਸੁਸ੍ਥਿਰੀਕੁਰੁਧ੍ਵਞ੍ਚ|
Wherefore be consoling one another, and building up, each the other, —even as ye are also doing.
12 ਹੇ ਭ੍ਰਾਤਰਃ, ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਮਧ੍ਯੇ ਯੇ ਜਨਾਃ ਪਰਿਸ਼੍ਰਮੰ ਕੁਰ੍ੱਵਨ੍ਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੋ ਰ੍ਨਾਮ੍ਨਾ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਅਧਿਤਿਸ਼਼੍ਠਨ੍ਤ੍ਯੁਪਦਿਸ਼ਨ੍ਤਿ ਚ ਤਾਨ੍ ਯੂਯੰ ਸੰਮਨ੍ਯਧ੍ਵੰ|
Now we request you, brethren, —to know them who are toiling among you, and presiding over you, in the Lord, and admonishing you;
13 ਸ੍ਵਕਰ੍ੰਮਹੇਤੁਨਾ ਚ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ੍ਨਾ ਤਾਨ੍ ਅਤੀਵਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਯਧ੍ਵਮਿਤਿ ਮਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਰ੍ਥਨਾ, ਯੂਯੰ ਪਰਸ੍ਪਰੰ ਨਿਰ੍ੱਵਿਰੋਧਾ ਭਵਤ|
And to hold them in very high esteem, in love, their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves,
14 ਹੇ ਭ੍ਰਾਤਰਃ, ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਵਿਨਯਾਮਹੇ ਯੂਯਮ੍ ਅਵਿਹਿਤਾਚਾਰਿਣੋ ਲੋਕਾਨ੍ ਭਰ੍ਤ੍ਸਯਧ੍ਵੰ, ਕ੍ਸ਼਼ੁਦ੍ਰਮਨਸਃ ਸਾਨ੍ਤ੍ਵਯਤ, ਦੁਰ੍ੱਬਲਾਨ੍ ਉਪਕੁਰੁਤ, ਸਰ੍ੱਵਾਨ੍ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਸਹਿਸ਼਼੍ਣਵੋ ਭਵਤ ਚ|
But we exhort you, brethren—admonish the disorderly, soothe them of little soul, help the weak, be longsuffering towards all:
15 ਅਪਰੰ ਕਮਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯਨਿਸ਼਼੍ਟਸ੍ਯ ਫਲਮ੍ ਅਨਿਸ਼਼੍ਟੰ ਕੇਨਾਪਿ ਯੰਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਯੇਤ ਤਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਸਾਵਧਾਨਾ ਭਵਤ, ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਪਰਸ੍ਪਰੰ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਾਨ੍ ਮਾਨਵਾਂਸ਼੍ਚ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਨਿਤ੍ਯੰ ਹਿਤਾਚਾਰਿਣੋ ਭਵਤ|
See that none, evil for evil, unto any, do render: but, evermore, what is good, be pursuing, towards one another, and towards all:
16 ਸਰ੍ੱਵਦਾਨਨ੍ਦਤ|
Evermore, rejoice,
17 ਨਿਰਨ੍ਤਰੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਰ੍ਥਨਾਂ ਕੁਰੁਧ੍ਵੰ|
Unceasingly, pray,
18 ਸਰ੍ੱਵਵਿਸ਼਼ਯੇ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤਜ੍ਞਤਾਂ ਸ੍ਵੀਕੁਰੁਧ੍ਵੰ ਯਤ ਏਤਦੇਵ ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟਯੀਸ਼ੁਨਾ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤਮ੍ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਾਭਿਮਤੰ|
In everything, give thanks, —for, this, is a thing willed of God, in Christ Jesus, towards you:
19 ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਮ੍ ਆਤ੍ਮਾਨੰ ਨ ਨਿਰ੍ੱਵਾਪਯਤ|
The Spirit, do not quench,
20 ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰੀਯਾਦੇਸ਼ੰ ਨਾਵਜਾਨੀਤ|
Prophesyings, do not despise,
21 ਸਰ੍ੱਵਾਣਿ ਪਰੀਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯ ਯਦ੍ ਭਦ੍ਰੰ ਤਦੇਵ ਧਾਰਯਤ|
[But], all things, put to the proof—what is comely, hold ye fast:
22 ਯਤ੍ ਕਿਮਪਿ ਪਾਪਰੂਪੰ ਭਵਤਿ ਤਸ੍ਮਾਦ੍ ਦੂਰੰ ਤਿਸ਼਼੍ਠਤ|
From every form of wickedness, abstain.
23 ਸ਼ਾਨ੍ਤਿਦਾਯਕ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਃ ਸ੍ਵਯੰ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਸਮ੍ਪੂਰ੍ਣਤ੍ਵੇਨ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਾਨ੍ ਕਰੋਤੁ, ਅਪਰਮ੍ ਅਸ੍ਮਤ੍ਪ੍ਰਭੋ ਰ੍ਯੀਸ਼ੁਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟਸ੍ਯਾਗਮਨੰ ਯਾਵਦ੍ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕਮ੍ ਆਤ੍ਮਾਨਃ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਃ ਸ਼ਰੀਰਾਣਿ ਚ ਨਿਖਿਲਾਨਿ ਨਿਰ੍ੱਦੋਸ਼਼ਤ੍ਵੇਨ ਰਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਨ੍ਤਾਂ|
But, the God of peace himself, hallow you completely, and, entire, might your spirit, and soul, and body, —[so as to be] unblameable in the Presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, —be preserved!
24 ਯੋ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਆਹ੍ਵਯਤਿ ਸ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਸਨੀਯੋ(ਅ)ਤਃ ਸ ਤਤ੍ ਸਾਧਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ|
Faithful, is he that is calling you, —who, also will perform.
25 ਹੇ ਭ੍ਰਾਤਰਃ, ਅਸ੍ਮਾਕੰ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰ੍ਥਨਾਂ ਕੁਰੁਧ੍ਵੰ|
Brethren! be praying for us [also].
26 ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਚੁਮ੍ਬਨੇਨ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਾਨ੍ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ੍ਰੁʼਨ੍ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਸਤ੍ਕੁਰੁਧ੍ਵੰ|
Salute all the brethren with a holy kiss.
27 ਪਤ੍ਰਮਿਦੰ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ੍ਰੁʼਣਾਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੁਤਿਗੋਚਰੇ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਭਿਃ ਪਠ੍ਯਤਾਮਿਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੋ ਰ੍ਨਾਮ੍ਨਾ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਸ਼ਪਯਾਮਿ|
I adjure you, by the Lord, that the letter be read unto all the brethren!
28 ਅਸ੍ਮਾਕੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੋ ਰ੍ਯੀਸ਼ੁਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟਸ੍ਯਾਨੁਗ੍ਰਤੇ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਸੁ ਭੂਯਾਤ੍| ਆਮੇਨ੍|
The favour of our Lord Jesus Christ, be with you.
