๑ โยหน: 5
1 ยีศุรภิษิกฺตสฺตฺราเตติ ย: กศฺจิทฺ วิศฺวาสิติ ส อีศฺวราตฺ ชาต: ; อปรํ ย: กศฺจิตฺ ชนยิตริ ปฺรียเต ส ตสฺมาตฺ ชาเต ชเน 'ปิ ปฺรียเตฯ
Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. Whoever loves the Father also loves the child who is born of him.
2 วยมฺ อีศฺวรสฺย สนฺตาเนษุ ปฺรียามเห ตทฺ อเนน ชานีโม ยทฺ อีศฺวเร ปฺรียามเห ตสฺยาชฺญา: ปาลยามศฺจฯ
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and do his commandments.
3 ยต อีศฺวเร ยตฺ เปฺรม ตตฺ ตทียาชฺญาปาลเนนาสฺมาภิ: ปฺรกาศยิตวฺยํ, ตสฺยาชฺญาศฺจ กโฐรา น ภวนฺติฯ
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous.
4 ยโต ย: กศฺจิทฺ อีศฺวราตฺ ชาต: ส สํสารํ ชยติ กิญฺจาสฺมากํ โย วิศฺวาส: ส เอวาสฺมากํ สํสารชยิชย: ฯ
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.
5 ยีศุรีศฺวรสฺย ปุตฺร อิติ โย วิศฺวสิติ ตํ วินา โก'ปร: สํสารํ ชยติ?
Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
6 โส'ภิษิกฺตสฺตฺราตา ยีศุโสฺตยรุธิราภฺยามฺ อาคต: เกวลํ โตเยน นหิ กินฺตุ โตยรุธิราภฺยามฺ, อาตฺมา จ สากฺษี ภวติ ยต อาตฺมา สตฺยตาสฺวรูป: ฯ
This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.
7 ยโต เหโต: สฺวรฺเค ปิตา วาท: ปวิตฺร อาตฺมา จ ตฺรย อิเม สากฺษิณ: สนฺติ, ตฺรย อิเม ไจโก ภวนฺติฯ
For there are three who testify:
8 ตถา ปฺฤถิวฺยามฺ อาตฺมา โตยํ รุธิรญฺจ ตฺรีเณฺยตานิ สากฺษฺยํ ททาติ เตษำ ตฺรยาณามฺ เอกตฺวํ ภวติ จฯ
the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and the three agree as one.
9 มานวานำ สากฺษฺยํ ยทฺยสฺมาภิ รฺคฺฤหฺยเต ตรฺหีศฺวรสฺย สากฺษฺยํ ตสฺมาทปิ เศฺรษฺฐํ ยต: สฺวปุตฺรมธีศฺวเรณ ทตฺตํ สากฺษฺยมิทํฯ
If we accept human testimony, the witness of God is greater; for this is God's testimony that he has testified concerning his Son.
10 อีศฺวรสฺย ปุเตฺร โย วิศฺวาสิติ ส นิชานฺตเร ตตฺ สากฺษฺยํ ธารยติ; อีศฺวเร โย น วิศฺวสิติ ส ตมฺ อนฺฤตวาทินํ กโรติ ยต อีศฺวร: สฺวปุตฺรมธิ ยตฺ สากฺษฺยํ ทตฺตวานฺ ตสฺมินฺ ส น วิศฺวสิติฯ
He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. He who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son.
11 ตจฺจ สากฺษฺยมิทํ ยทฺ อีศฺวโร 'สฺมภฺยมฺ อนนฺตชีวนํ ทตฺตวานฺ ตจฺจ ชีวนํ ตสฺย ปุเตฺร วิทฺยเตฯ (aiōnios g166)
The testimony is this, that God gave to us everlasting life, and this life is in his Son. (aiōnios g166)
12 ย: ปุตฺรํ ธารยติ ส ชีวนํ ธาริยติ, อีศฺวรสฺย ปุตฺรํ โย น ธารยติ ส ชีวนํ น ธารยติฯ
He who has the Son has the life. He who does not have God's Son does not have the life.
13 อีศฺวรปุตฺรสฺย นามฺนิ ยุษฺมานฺ ปฺรเตฺยตานิ มยา ลิขิตานิ ตสฺยาภิปฺราโย 'ยํ ยทฺ ยูยมฺ อนนฺตชีวนปฺราปฺตา อิติ ชานียาต ตเสฺยศฺวรปุตฺรสฺย นามฺนิ วิศฺวเสต จฯ (aiōnios g166)
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have everlasting life. (aiōnios g166)
14 ตสฺยานฺติเก 'สฺมากํ ยา ปฺรติภา ภวติ ตสฺยา: การณมิทํ ยทฺ วยํ ยทิ ตสฺยาภิมตํ กิมปิ ตํ ยาจามเห ตรฺหิ โส 'สฺมากํ วากฺยํ ศฺฤโณติฯ
This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.
15 ส จาสฺมากํ ยตฺ กิญฺจน ยาจนํ ศฺฤโณตีติ ยทิ ชานีมสฺตรฺหิ ตสฺมาทฺ ยาจิตา วรา อสฺมาภิ: ปฺราปฺยนฺเต ตทปิ ชานีม: ฯ
And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
16 กศฺจิทฺ ยทิ สฺวภฺราตรมฺ อมฺฤตฺยุชนกํ ปาปํ กุรฺวฺวนฺตํ ปศฺยติ ตรฺหิ ส ปฺรารฺถนำ กโรตุ เตเนศฺวรสฺตไสฺม ชีวนํ ทาสฺยติ, อรฺถโต มฺฤตฺยุชนกํ ปาปํ เยน นาการิตไสฺมฯ กินฺตุ มฺฤตฺยุชนกมฺ เอกํ ปาปมฺ อาเสฺต ตทธิ เตน ปฺรารฺถนา กฺริยตามิตฺยหํ น วทามิฯ
If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not leading to death, he should ask, and he will give him life for those who sin not leading to death. There is a sin leading to death. I do not say that he should make a request concerning this.
17 สรฺวฺว เอวาธรฺมฺม: ปาปํ กินฺตุ สรฺวฺวปำป มฺฤตฺยุชนกํ นหิฯ
All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death.
18 ย อีศฺวราตฺ ชาต: ส ปาปาจารํ น กโรติ กินฺตฺวีศฺวราตฺ ชาโต ชน: สฺวํ รกฺษติ ตสฺมาตฺ ส ปาปาตฺมา ตํ น สฺปฺฤศตีติ วยํ ชานีม: ฯ
We know that whoever is born of God does not sin, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.
19 วยมฺ อีศฺวราตฺ ชาตา: กินฺตุ กฺฤตฺสฺน: สํสาร: ปาปาตฺมโน วศํ คโต 'สฺตีติ ชานีม: ฯ
We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
20 อปรมฺ อีศฺวรสฺย ปุตฺร อาคตวานฺ วยญฺจ ยยา ตสฺย สตฺยมยสฺย ชฺญานํ ปฺราปฺนุยามสฺตาทฺฤศีํ ธิยมฺ อสฺมภฺยํ ทตฺตวานฺ อิติ ชานีมสฺตสฺมินฺ สตฺยมเย 'รฺถตสฺตสฺย ปุเตฺร ยีศุขฺรีษฺเฏ ติษฺฐามศฺจ; ส เอว สตฺยมย อีศฺวโร 'นนฺตชีวนสฺวรูปศฺจาสฺติฯ (aiōnios g166)
We know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding, that we know him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
21 เห ปฺริยพาลกา: , ยูยํ เทวมูรฺตฺติภฺย: สฺวานฺ รกฺษตฯ อาเมนฺฯ
Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
