< Jovanu 13 >

Now before the feast of the Passover, Jesus, knowing that his time had come that he would depart from this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
And during the meal, the devil had already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him.
Because he knew that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came forth from God, and was going to God,
4 Ustade od veèere, i skide svoje haljine, i uze ubrus te se zapreže;
arose from the meal, and removed his outer garments. He took a towel, and wrapped a towel around his waist.
5 Potom usu vodu u umivaonicu, i poèe prati noge uèenicima i otirati ubrusom kojijem bješe zapregnut.
Then he poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
6 Onda doðe k Simonu Petru, i on mu reèe: Gospode! zar ti moje noge da opereš?
Then he came to Simon Peter. He said to him, "Lord, do you wash my feet?"
Jesus answered him, "You do not know what I am doing now, but you will understand later."
Peter said to him, "You will never wash my feet." Jesus answered him, "If I do not wash you, you have no part with me." (aiōn g165)
9 Reèe mu Simon Petar: Gospode! ne samo noge moje, nego i ruke i glavu.
Simon Peter said to him, "Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head."
Jesus said to him, "Someone who has bathed only needs to have his feet washed, but is completely clean. You are clean, but not all of you."
11 Jer znadijaše izdajnika svojega, zato reèe: nijeste svi èisti.
For he knew him who would betray him, therefore he said, "You are not all clean."
12 A kad im opra noge, uze haljine svoje, i sjedavši opet za trpezu reèe im: znate li što ja uèinih vama?
So when he had washed their feet, put his outer garment back on, and sat down again, he said to them, "Do you know what I have done to you?
13 Vi zovete mene uèiteljem i Gospodom; i pravo velite: jer jesam.
You call me, 'Teacher' and 'Lord.' You say so correctly, for so I am.
14 Kad dakle ja oprah vama noge Gospod i uèitelj, i vi ste dužni jedan drugome prati noge.
If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.
For I have given you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you.
Truly, truly, I tell you, a servant is not greater than his master, neither one who is sent greater than he who sent him.
17 Kad ovo znate, blago vama ako ga izvršujete.
If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.
I do not speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen. But that the Scripture may be fulfilled, 'He who ate my bread has lifted up his heel against me.'
I am telling you this now before it happens, so that when it does happen you may believe that I am he.
20 Zaista, zaista vam kažem: koji prima onoga koga pošljem mene prima; a ko prima mene prima onoga koji me posla.
Truly, truly, I tell you, he who receives whomever I send, receives me; and he who receives me, receives him who sent me."
21 Rekavši ovo Isus posta žalostan u duhu, i posvjedoèi i reèe: zaista, zaista vam kažem: jedan izmeðu vas izdaæe me.
When Jesus had said this, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, "Truly, truly, I tell you that one of you will betray me."
The disciples looked at one another, perplexed about whom he spoke.
One of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, was reclining against Jesus' chest.
Simon Peter therefore motioned to him to inquire who it was he was talking about.
25 A on leže na prsi Isusove i reèe mu: Gospode! ko je to?
He, leaning back, as he was, on Jesus' chest, asked him, "Lord, who is it?"
26 Isus odgovori: onaj je kome ja umoèivši zalogaj dam. I umoèivši zalogaj dade Judi Simonovu Iskariotskome.
Jesus therefore answered, "It is he to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it." So when he had dipped the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.
27 I po zalogaju tada uðe u njega sotona. Onda mu reèe Isus: šta èiniš èini brže.
After the piece of bread, then Satan entered into him. Then Jesus said to him, "What you do, do quickly."
Now none of those reclining knew why he said this to him.
For some thought, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus said to him, "Buy what things we need for the feast," or that he should give something to the poor.
30 A on uzevši zalogaj odmah iziðe; a bješe noæ.
Therefore, having received the piece of bread, he went out immediately; and it was night.
31 Kad on iziðe, onda Isus reèe: sad se proslavi sin èovjeèij, i Bog se proslavi u njemu.
When he had gone out, Jesus said, "Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him.
32 Ako se Bog proslavi u njemu, i Bog æe njega proslaviti u sebi, i odmah æe ga proslaviti.
If God has been glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him at once.
Little children, I will be with you a little while longer. You will seek me, and as I said to the Jewish leaders, 'Where I am going, you cannot come,' so now I tell you.
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also must love one another.
35 Po tom æe svi poznati da ste moji uèenici ako uzimate ljubav meðu sobom.
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
Simon Peter said to him, "Lord, where are you going?" Jesus answered, "Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but you will follow afterwards."
Peter said to him, "Lord, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you."
38 Odgovori mu Isus: dušu li æeš svoju položiti za me? Zaista, zaista ti kažem: neæe pijetao zapjevati dok me se triput ne odreèeš.
Jesus answered him, "Will you lay down your life for me? Truly, truly, I tell you, the rooster won't crow until you have denied me three times.
