Ефесцима 5
1 Угледајте се дакле на Бога, као љубазна деца,
Become, then, followers of God, as beloved children,
2 И живите у љубави, као што је и Христос љубио нас, и предаде себе за нас у прилог и жртву Богу на слатки мирис.
and walk in love, as the Christ also loved us, and gave Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of a refreshing fragrance,
3 А курварство и свака нечистота и лакомство да се и не спомиње међу вама, као што се пристоји светима;
and whoredom, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, do not let it even be named among you, as is proper to holy ones;
4 Тако и срамотне и луде речи, или шале, што се не пристоји; него још захваљивање.
also filthiness, and foolish talking, or jesting—the things not fit—but rather thanksgiving;
5 Јер ово да знате да ниједан курвар, или нечист, или тврдица (који је идолопоклоник), неће имати дела у царству Христа и Бога.
for you know this, that every whoremonger, or unclean, or covetous person, who is an idolater, has no inheritance in the kingdom of the Christ and God.
6 Нико да вас не вара празним речима; јер ових ради иде гнев Божји на синове непокорности.
Let no one deceive you with vain words, for because of these things comes the anger of God on the sons of the disobedience;
7 Не бивајте дакле заједничари њихови.
do not become, then, partakers with them,
8 Јер бејасте некада тама, а сад сте видело у Господу: као деца видела живите;
for you were once darkness, and now light in the LORD; walk as children of light,
9 Јер је род духовни у свакој доброти и правди и истини.
for the fruit of the light [is] in all goodness, and righteousness, and truth,
10 Истражујте шта је Богу угодно.
proving what is well-pleasing to the LORD;
11 И не пристајте на безродна дела таме, него још карајте.
and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of the darkness and rather even convict,
12 Јер је срамно и говорити шта они тајно чине.
for it is a shame even to speak of the things done by them in secret,
13 А све за шта се кара, видело објављује; јер све што се објављује, видело је;
and all the things reproved by the light are revealed, for everything that is revealed is light;
14 Зато говори: Устани ти који спаваш и васкрсни из мртвих, и обасјаће те Христос.
for this reason it says, “Arouse yourself, you who are sleeping, and arise out of the dead, and the Christ will shine on you.”
15 Гледајте дакле да уредно живите не као немудри, него као мудри;
See, then, how exactly you walk, not as unwise, but as wise,
16 Пазите на време, јер су дани зли,
redeeming the time, because the days are evil;
17 Тога ради не будите неразумни, него познајте шта је воља Божија.
do not become fools because of this, but—understanding what [is] the will of the LORD,
18 И не опијајте се вином у коме је курварство, него се још испуњавајте духом,
and do not be drunk with wine, in which is wastefulness, but be filled in the Spirit,
19 Говорећи међу собом у псалмима и појању и песмама духовним, певајући и припевајући у срцима својим Господу;
speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the LORD,
20 Захваљујући за свашта у име Господа нашег Исуса Христа Богу и Оцу;
always giving thanks for all things, in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to the God and Father,
21 Слушајући се међу собом у страху Божијем.
subjecting yourselves to one another in the fear of Christ.
22 Жене! Слушајте своје мужеве као Господа.
The wives: [subject yourselves] to your own husbands, as to the LORD,
23 Јер је муж глава жени као што је и Христос глава цркви, и он је спаситељ тела.
because the husband is head of the wife, as also the Christ [is] head of the Assembly, and He is Savior of the body,
24 Но као што црква слуша Христа тако и жене своје мужеве у свему.
but even as the Assembly is subject to Christ, so also [are] the wives [subject] to their own husbands in everything.
25 Мужеви! Љубите своје жене као што и Христос љуби цркву, и себе предаде за њу,
The husbands: love your own wives, as the Christ also loved the Assembly, and gave Himself for it,
26 Да је освети очистивши је купањем воденим у речи;
that He might sanctify it, having cleansed [it] with the bathing of the water in the saying,
27 Да је метне преда се славну цркву, која нема мане ни мрштине, или таквог чега, него да буде света и без мане.
that He might present the Assembly to Himself in glory, having no spot or wrinkle, or any of such things, but that it may be holy and unblemished;
28 Тако су дужни мужеви љубити своје жене као своја телеса; јер који љуби своју жену, себе самог љуби.
so ought the husbands to love their own wives as their own bodies: he who is loving his own wife—he loves himself;
29 Јер нико не омрзну кад на своје тело, него га храни и греје, као и Господ цркву.
for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and nurtures it, as also the LORD—the Assembly,
30 Јер смо уди тела његовог, од меса Његовог, и од костију Његових.
because we are members of His body, [[of His flesh, and of His bones.]]
31 Тога ради оставиће човек оца свог и матер, и прилепиће се к жени својој, и биће двоје једно тело.
“For this cause will a man leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife, and the two will be into one flesh”;
32 Тајна је ово велика; а ја говорим за Христа и за цркву.
this secret is great, and I speak in regard to Christ and to the Assembly;
33 Али и ви сваки да љуби онако своју жену као и себе самог; а жена да се боји свог мужа.
but you also, everyone in particular—let each so love his own wife as himself, and the wife—that she may revere the husband.
