Приче Соломонове 12
1 Ко љуби наставу, љуби знање; а ко мрзи на укор, остаје луд.
Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge: but he that hates reproof is brutish.
2 Добар човек добија љубав од Господа, а човека зликовца осуђује.
A good man obtains favor of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
3 Неће се човек утврдити безбожношћу, а корен праведних неће се помаћи.
A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
4 Вредна је жена венац мужу свом; а која га срамоти, она му је као трулеж у костима.
A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that makes ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.
5 Мисли су праведних праве, а савети безбожних превара.
The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
6 Речи безбожних вребају крв, а праведне избављају уста њихова.
The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
7 Обарају се безбожни да их нема, а дом праведних остаје.
The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.
8 Према разуму свом хвали се човек; а ко је опака срца, презреће се.
A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.
9 Ко се снебива, а има слугу, бољи је од оног који се велича а хлеба нема.
He that is despised, and has a servant, is better than he that honors himself, and lacks bread.
10 Праведник се брине за живот свог живинчета, а у безбожника је срце немилостиво.
A righteous man regards the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
11 Ко ради своју земљу, биће сит хлеба; а ко иде за беспослицама, безуман је.
He that tills his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that follows vain persons is void of understanding.
12 Безбожник жели обрану ода зла, али корен праведних даје је.
The wicked desires the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yields fruit.
13 Зломе је замка у греху усана његових, а праведник излази из тескобе.
The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.
14 Од плода уста својих сити се човек добра, и плату за дела своја прима човек.
A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompense of a man’s hands shall be rendered to him.
15 Безумнику се чини прав пут његов; али ко слуша савет, мудар је.
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that listens to counsel is wise.
16 Гнев безумников одмах се позна, али паметни покрива срамоту.
A fool’s wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covers shame.
17 Ко говори истину, јавља шта је право, а лажни сведок превару.
He that speaks truth shows forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.
18 Има ко говори као да мач пробада, а језик је мудрих лек.
There is that speaks like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.
19 Истинита уста стоје тврдо довека, а језик лажљиви за час.
The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
20 Који зло мисле, превара им је у срцу, а радост је онима који саветују на мир.
Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.
21 Никаква несрећа неће задесити праведника, а безбожници ће се напунити зла.
There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.
22 Мрске су Господу лажљиве усне; а који раде верно, мили су Му.
Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.
23 Паметан човек покрива знање, а срце безумних разглашује безумље.
A prudent man conceals knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaims foolishness.
24 Рука радљива господариће, а лена ће давати данак.
The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
25 Брига у срцу човечијем обара; а добра реч развесељава.
Heaviness in the heart of man makes it stoop: but a good word makes it glad.
26 Праведнику је боље него ближњему његовом; а безбожнике заводи пут њихов.
The righteous is more excellent than his neighbor: but the way of the wicked seduces them.
27 Лењивац неће пећи лов свој, а у вредног је човека добро драгоцено.
The slothful man roasts not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.
28 На путу правде живот је, и куда иде стаза њена нема смрти.
In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.
