Psalmi 20

1 Načelniku godbe, psalm Davidov. Usliši te naj Gospod ob času stiske; na višavo naj te postavi ime Boga Jakobovega.

For the end, a Psalm of David. The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee.

2 Pošlje naj ti pomoč iz svetišča, in sè Sijona naj te podpira.

Send thee help from the sanctuary, and aid thee out of Sion.

3 Dúha naj vse dari tvoje, in upepeli naj žgalno daritev tvojo.

Remember all thy sacrifice, and enrich thy whole-burnt-offering. (Pause)

4 Dá ti naj po srci tvojem, in izpolni naj vsak sklep tvoj.

Grant thee according to thy heart, and fulfill all thy desire.

5 Prepevajmo o blaginji tvoji; in v imenu Boga našega nosimo zastave; izpolni naj Gospod vse prošnje tvoje.

We will exult in thy salvation, and in the name of our God shall we be magnified: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.

6 Zdaj spoznavam, da Gospod brani maziljenca svojega, usliši ga z nebes svetosti svoje; po največji kreposti, blaginji desnice svoje.

Now I know that the Lord has saved his Christ: he shall hear him from his holy heaven: the salvation of his right hand is mighty.

7 Ti vóz, in oni kónj, mi pa se spominjamo imena Gospoda, Boga našega.

Some [glory] in chariots, and some in horses: but we will glory in the name of the Lord our God.

8 Oni se pripogibajo in padajo; mi pa vstajamo in stojimo.

They are overthrown and fallen: but we are risen, and have been set upright.

9 Gospod, reši! kralj sam naj usliši nas ob času, ko ga bodemo klicali.

O Lord, save the king: and hear us in whatever day we call upon thee.
