Psalmi 94
1 O mogočni Bog maščevanj, Gospod, o mogočni Bog maščevanj, prisvéti!
O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.
2 Dvigni se, o zemlje sodnik; daj povračilo prevzetnim.
Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.
3 Doklej prevzetni, Gospod, doklej se bodejo radovali prevzetni?
LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?
4 Ustili se in govorili prevzetno, ponašali se vsi, ki delajo krivico?
[How long] shall they utter [and] speak hard things? [and] all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?
5 Zatirali ljudstvo tvoje, Gospod, in ponižávali tvoje posestvo?
They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, and afflict thine heritage.
6 Morili vdovo in tujca, in ubijali sirote?
They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
7 Govoreč: Ne vidi Gospod, in ne zapazi Bog Jakobov.
Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard [it].
8 Čujte, o najneumnejši v ljudstvu, in najnespametnejši, kdaj bodete razumni?
Understand, ye brutish among the people: and [ye] fools, when will ye be wise?
9 Ali on, ki je vsadil uho, ali bi on ne slišal? ali on, ki je naredil oko, ali bi ne videl?
He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?
10 Ali on, ki pokori narode, ali bi ne grajal; ki uči ljudî modrosti, ali bi ne spoznal?
He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, [shall not he know]?
11 Gospod pozna misli človeške, da so zgolj ničemurnost.
The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they [are] vanity.
12 Blagor možu, katerega pokoriš, Gospod; in katerega učiš po zakonu svojem.
Blessed [is] the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;
13 Da mu pripraviš pokoj od dnî nadloge, ko se koplje krivičnemu jama.
That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.
14 Ker Gospod ne zavrže ljudstva svojega, in posestva svojega ne zapusti.
For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.
15 Temuč noter do pravice se povrne sodba, in za njo vsi, ki so pravega srca.
But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.
16 Kdo bi bil vstal záme zoper hudodelnike? kdo bi se bil postavil zame zoper one, ki delajo krivico?
Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? [or] who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
17 Ko bi mi ne bil Gospod, polna pomoč, malo da bi ne bilo življenje moje prebivalo v kraji molčanja.
Unless the LORD [had been] my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.
18 Ko pravim: Omahuje noga moja, milost tvoja, o Gospod, me podpira.
When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up.
19 Ko so mnoge misli moje pri meni, tolažbe tvoje razveseljujejo dušo mojo.
In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
20 Ali bi se družil s teboj prestol nadlog, njega, ki me nadleguje zoper postavo?
Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?
21 Njih, ki se četoma zbirajo proti pravičnega duši, in obsojajo kri nedolžnih?
They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.
22 Dà, Gospod mi je za grad, in Bog moj za skalo mojega pribežališča,
But the LORD is my defence; and my God [is] the rock of my refuge.
23 On obrača proti njim njih krivico, in njih hudobnost jih pokončuje, pokončuje jih Gospod, naš Bog.
And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; [yea], the LORD our God shall cut them off.
