1 Tesalonicenses 5
1 Empero acerca de los tiempos y de los momentos, no tenéis, hermanos, necesidad de que yo os escriba:
But, britheren, of tymes and momentis ye neden not that Y write to you.
2 Porque vosotros sabéis perfectamente, que el día del Señor, como ladrón en la noche, así vendrá.
For ye silf witen diligentli, that the dai of the Lord schal come, as a theef in the niyt.
3 Que cuando dirán: Paz y seguridad: entonces vendrá sobre ellos destrucción de repente, como los dolores del parto sobre la mujer preñada; y no escaparán.
For whanne thei schulen seie pees is, and sikirnesse, thanne sudeyn deth schal come on hem, as sorewe to a womman that is with child, and thei schulen not scape.
4 Mas vosotros, hermanos, no estáis en tinieblas, para que aquel día os agarre como ladrón.
But, britheren, ye ben not in derknessis, that the ilke dai as a theef catche you.
5 Porque todos vosotros sois hijos de la luz, e hijos del día: no somos hijos de la noche, ni hijos de las tinieblas.
For alle ye ben the sones of liyt, and sones of dai; we ben not of niyt, nether of derknessis.
6 Así, pues, no durmamos como los demás; antes velemos y seamos sobrios.
Therfor slepe we not as othere; but wake we, and be we sobre.
7 Porque los que duermen, de noche duermen; y los que están borrachos, de noche están borrachos.
For thei that slepen, slepen in the niyt, and thei that ben drunkun, ben drunkun in the niyt.
8 Mas nosotros, que somos hijos del día, seamos sobrios, vistiéndonos de la coraza de fe, y de amor, y por almete de la esperanza de salud.
But we that ben of the dai, ben sobre, clothid in the haburioun of feith and of charite, and in the helme of hope of heelthe.
9 Porque no nos ha puesto Dios para ira, sino para alcanzar salud por medio de nuestro Señor Jesu Cristo:
For God puttide not vs in to wraththe, but in to the purchasing of heelthe bi oure Lord Jhesu Crist, that was deed for vs;
10 El cual murió por nosotros; para que, o que velemos, o que durmamos, vivamos juntamente con él.
that whether we waken, whether we slepen, we lyue togidere with him.
11 Por lo cual consoláos los unos a los otros, y edificáos uno a otro, así como lo hacéis.
For which thing comforte ye togidere, and edefie ye ech other, as ye doon.
12 Y, os rogamos, hermanos, que reconozcáis a los que trabajan entre vosotros, y os presiden en el Señor, y os amonestan;
And, britheren, we preien you, that ye knowen hem that trauelen among you, and ben souereyns to you in the Lord, and techen you,
13 Y que los tengáis en la mayor estima, amándolos a causa de su obra: tenéd paz entre vosotros mismos.
that ye han hem more aboundantli in charyte; and for the werk of hem, haue ye pees with hem.
14 Os exhortamos, pues, hermanos, que amonestéis a los que andan desordenadamente, que consoléis a los de poco ánimo, que soportéis a los flacos, que seáis sufridos para con todos.
And, britheren, we preien you, repreue ye vnpesible men. Coumforte ye men of litil herte, resseyue ye sijke men, be ye pacient to alle men.
15 Mirád que ninguno dé a otro mal por mal; antes seguíd siempre lo bueno los unos para con los otros, y para con todos.
Se ye, that no man yelde yuel for yuel to ony man; but euere more sue ye that that is good, ech to othere and to alle men.
16 Estád siempre gozosos.
Euere more ioye ye; without ceessing preye ye;
17 Orád sin cesar.
in alle thingis do ye thankyngis.
18 En todo dad gracias; porque esta es la voluntad de Dios en Cristo Jesús acerca de vosotros.
For this is the wille of God in Crist Jhesu, in alle you.
19 No apaguéis el Espíritu.
Nyle ye quenche the spirit;
20 No menospreciéis las profecías.
nyle ye dispise prophecies.
21 Examinádlo todo: retenéd lo que fuere bueno.
But preue ye alle thingis, and holde ye that thing that is good.
22 Apartáos de toda apariencia de mal.
Absteyne you fro al yuel spice.
23 Y el mismo Dios de paz os santifique cabalmente; y que todo vuestro espíritu, y alma y cuerpo sean guardados irreprensibles para la venida del Señor nuestro Jesu Cristo.
And God hym silf of pees make you hooli bi alle thingis, that youre spirit be kept hool, and soule, and bodi, without pleynt, in the comyng of oure Lord Jhesu Crist.
24 Fiel es el que os ha llamado, el cual también lo hará.
God is trewe, that clepide you, which also schal do.
25 Hermanos, orád por nosotros.
Britheren, preye ye for vs.
26 Saludád a todos los hermanos con beso santo.
Grete ye wel alle britheren in hooli cos.
27 Conjúroos por el Señor, que esta carta sea leída a todos los santos hermanos.
Y coniure you bi the Lord, that this pistle be red to alle hooli britheren.
28 La gracia de nuestro Señor Jesu Cristo sea con vosotros. Amén. La primera carta a los Tesalonicenses fue escrita de Aténas.
The grace of oure Lord Jhesu Crist be with you. Amen.
