1 Timoteo 2
1 AMONESTO, pues, ante todas cosas, que se hagan rogativas, oraciones, peticiones, hacimientos de gracias, por todos los hombres;
I Exhort therefore, that first of all supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giuing of thanks be made for all men,
2 Por los reyes, y por todos los que están en eminencia, para que vivamos quieta y reposadamente en toda piedad y honestidad.
For Kings, and for all that are in authoritie, that we may leade a quiet and a peaceable life, in all godlinesse and honestie.
3 Porque esto [es] bueno y agradable delante de Dios nuestro Salvador:
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Sauiour,
4 El cual quiere que todos los hombres sean salvos, y que vengan al conocimiento de la verdad.
Who will that all men shalbe saued, and come vnto the acknowledging of the trueth.
5 Porque [hay] un Dios; asimismo un Mediador entre Dios y los hombres, Jesu-Cristo hombre;
For there is one God, and one Mediatour betweene God and man, which is the man Christ Iesus,
6 El cual se dió á sí mismo [en] precio del rescate por todos, [para] testimonio en sus tiempos:
Who gaue himselfe a ransome for all men, to be that testimonie in due time,
7 De lo que yo soy puesto por predicador y apóstol, (digo verdad en Cristo, no miento; ) doctor de los Gentiles en fidelidad y verdad.
Whereunto I am ordeined a preacher and an Apostle (I speake the trueth in Christ, and lie not) euen a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and veritie.
8 Quiero, pues, que los hombres oren en todo lugar, levantando manos limpias, sin ira ni contienda.
I will therefore that the men pray, euery where lifting vp pure hands without wrath, or douting.
9 Asimismo tambien las mujeres, ataviándose en hábito honesto, con vergüenza y modestia; no con cabellos encrespados, ú oro, ó perlas, ó vestidos costosos,
Likewise also the women, that they aray themselues in comely apparell, with shamefastnes and modestie, not with broyded heare, or gold, or pearles, or costly apparell,
10 Sino de buenas obras, como conviene á mujeres que profesan piedad.
But (as becommeth women that professe the feare of God) with good workes.
11 La mujer aprenda en silencio, con toda sujecion.
Let the woman learne in silence with all subiection.
12 Porque no permito á la mujer enseñar, ni tomar autoridad sobre el hombre, sino estar en silencio.
I permit not a woman to teache, neither to vsurpe authoritie ouer the man, but to be in silence.
13 Porque Adam fué formado el primero; despues Eva.
For Adam was first formed, then Eue.
14 Y Adam no fué engañado; sino la mujer, siendo seducida, vino á ser [envuelta] en transgresion.
And Adam was not deceiued, but the woman was deceiued, and was in the transgression.
15 Empero se salvará engendrando hijos, si permaneciere en la fé y caridad, y santidad, y modestia.
Notwithstanding, through bearing of children she shalbe saued if they continue in faith, and loue, and holines with modestie.
