1 “He vakai, ʻoku haʻu ʻae ʻaho ʻe vela ʻo hangē ko e ngotoʻumu; pea ʻe tatau mo e veve ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku fielahi, ʻio, mo kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku fai angahala: pea ʻe vela ʻo ʻosi ʻakinautolu ʻi he ʻaho ko ia ʻoku haʻu,” ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, “pea ʻe ʻikai toe ai hanau aka pe ha vaʻa.
"For, look, the day comes, it burns as a furnace; and all the proud, and all who work wickedness, will be stubble; and the day that comes will burn them up," says the LORD of hosts, "that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2 Ka ʻe hopo hake ʻae laʻā ʻoe angatonu mo e fakamoʻui ʻi hono kapakau, kiate kimoutolu ʻoku manavahē ki hoku huafa; pea te mou ʻalu atu, pea tupu ʻo hangē ko e fanga ʻuhikiʻi pulu ʻi he fale fafanga.
But to you who fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings. You will go out, and leap like calves of the stall.
3 Pea te mou molomoloki ʻae kau angahala; he te nau hangē ko e efuefu ʻi homou lalo ʻaofi vaʻe, ʻi he ʻaho ko ia te u fai ai eni,” ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau.
You shall tread down the wicked; for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I make," says the LORD of hosts.
4 “Manatu ʻakimoutolu ki he fono ʻa Mōsese ko ʻeku tamaioʻeiki, ʻaia naʻaku fekau kiate ia ʻi Holepi maʻa ʻIsileli kotoa pē, ʻae ngaahi fekau mo e ngaahi tuʻutuʻuni.
"Remember the Law of Moses my servant, which I commanded to him in Horeb for all Israel, even statutes and ordinances.
5 Vakai te u fekau ʻa ʻIlaisiā ko e palōfita kiate kimoutolu, ʻi he teʻeki ai ke hoko ʻae ʻaho lahi mo fakamanavahē ʻo Sihova:
Look, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes.
6 Pea te ne liliu ʻae loto ʻoe mātuʻa ki he fānau, pea ko e loto ʻoe fānau ki heʻenau mātuʻa, telia naʻaku haʻu ke taaʻi ʻaki ʻa māmani ʻae malaʻia.”
He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.
