2 Samuel 24
1 RAB İsrail halkına yine öfkelendi. Davut'u onlara karşı kışkırtarak, “Git, İsrail ve Yahuda halkını say” dedi.
And again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah.
2 Kral, yanında bulunan ordu komutanı Yoav'a şu buyruğu verdi: “Dan'dan Beer-Şeva'ya dek İsrail'in bütün oymaklarına gidip halkı sayın ki, halkın sayısını bileyim.”
For the king said to Joab the captain of the host, which was with him, Go now through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan even to Beersheba, and number all of you the people, that I may know the number of the people.
3 Ama Yoav, “RAB Tanrın halkını yüz kat daha çoğaltsın, efendim kralım da bunu görsün!” diye karşılık verdi, “Ancak, efendim kralım neden bunu istiyor?”
And Joab said unto the king, Now the LORD your God add unto the people, no matter how many they be, an hundredfold, and that the eyes of my lord the king may see it: but why does my lord the king delight in this thing?
4 Gelgelelim kralın sözü Yoav'la birlik komutanlarının sözünden baskın çıktı. Böylece kralın yanından ayrılıp İsrail'de sayım yapmaya gittiler.
Notwithstanding the king's word prevailed against Joab, and against the captains of the host. And Joab and the captains of the host went out from the presence of the king, to number the people of Israel.
5 Şeria Irmağı'ndan geçerek Aroer yakınında, vadinin ortasındaki kentin güneyinde konakladılar. Oradan Gat'ı, Yazer'i, Gilat'ı, Tahtim-Hodşi topraklarını, Dan-Yaan'ı geçip Sayda'ya vardılar.
And they passed over Jordan, and pitched in Aroer, on the right side of the city that lies in the midst of the river of Gad, and toward Jazer:
Then they came to Gilead, and to the land of Tahtimhodshi; and they came to Danjaan, and about to Zidon,
7 Sonra Sur Kalesi'ne, Hivliler'le Kenanlılar'ın bütün kentlerine uğradılar. Sonunda Yahuda ülkesinin Negev bölgesindeki Beer-Şeva'ya ulaştılar.
And came to the strong hold of Tyre, and to all the cities of the Hivites, and of the Canaanites: and they went out to the south of Judah, even to Beersheba.
8 Dokuz ay yirmi gün ülkeyi baştan başa dolaştıktan sonra Yeruşalim'e döndüler.
So when they had gone through all the land, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days.
9 Yoav sayımın sonucunu krala bildirdi: İsrail'de kılıç kuşanabilen sekiz yüz bin, Yahuda'daysa beş yüz bin kişi vardı.
And Joab gave up the sum of the number of the people unto the king: and there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men that drew the sword; and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.
10 Davut sayım yaptıktan sonra kendisini suçlu buldu ve RAB'be, “Bunu yapmakla büyük günah işledim!” dedi, “Ya RAB, lütfen kulunun suçunu bağışla. Çünkü çok akılsızca davrandım.”
And David's heart stroke him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the LORD, I have sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I plead to you, O LORD, take away the iniquity of your servant; for I have done very foolishly.
11 Ertesi sabah Davut uyandığında, RAB Davut'un bilicisi Peygamber Gad'a şöyle dedi: “Gidip Davut'a de ki, ‘RAB şöyle diyor: Önüne üç seçenek koyuyorum. Bunlardan birini seç de sana onu yapayım.’”
For when David was up in the morning, the word of the LORD came unto the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying,
Go and say unto David, Thus says the LORD, I offer you three things; choose you one of them, that I may do it unto you.
13 Gad Davut'a gidip durumu anlattı ve şöyle dedi: “Ülkende yedi yıl kıtlık mı olsun? Yoksa seni kovalayan düşmanlarının önünden üç ay kaçmak mı istersin? Ya da ülkende üç gün salgın hastalık mı olsun? Beni gönderene ne yanıt vereyim, şimdi iyice düşün.”
So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto you in your land? or will you flee three months before your enemies, while they pursue you? or that there be three days' pestilence in your land? now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me.
14 Davut, “Sıkıntım büyük” diye yanıtladı, “İnsan eline düşmektense, RAB'bin eline düşelim. Çünkü O'nun acıması büyüktür.”
And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.
15 Bunun üzerine RAB o sabahtan belirlenen zamana dek İsrail ülkesine salgın hastalık gönderdi. Dan'dan Beer-Şeva'ya dek halktan yetmiş bin kişi öldü.
So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba seventy thousand men.
16 Melek Yeruşalim'i yok etmek için elini uzatınca, RAB göndereceği yıkımdan vazgeçti. Halkı yok eden meleğe, “Yeter artık! Elini çek” dedi. RAB'bin meleği Yevuslu Aravna'nın harman yerinde duruyordu.
And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now your hand. And the angel of the LORD was by the threshingplace of Araunah the Jebusite.
17 Davut, halkı öldüren meleği görünce, RAB'be, “Günah işleyen benim, ben suç işledim” dedi, “Bu koyunlar ne yaptı ki? Ne olur beni ve babamın soyunu cezalandır.”
And David spoke unto the LORD when he saw the angel that stroke the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let your hand, I pray you, be against me, and against my father's house.
18 O gün Gad Davut'a gitti. Ona, “Gidip Yevuslu Aravna'nın harman yerinde RAB'be bir sunak kur” dedi.
And Gad came that day to David, and said unto him, Go up, rear an altar unto the LORD in the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.
19 Davut Gad'ın sözü uyarınca RAB'bin buyurduğu gibi gitti.
And David, according to the saying of Gad, went up as the LORD commanded.
20 Aravna bakınca kralla görevlilerinin kendisine doğru yaklaştıklarını gördü. Varıp kralın önünde yüzüstü yere kapandı.
And Araunah looked, and saw the king and his servants coming on toward him: and Araunah went out, and bowed himself before the king on his face upon the ground.
21 Sonra, “Efendim kral niçin kulunun yanına geldi?” diye sordu. Davut, “RAB'be bir sunak kurmak üzere harman yerini senden satın almak için” diye yanıtladı, “Öyle ki, salgın hastalık halkın üzerinden kalksın.”
And Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshing floor of you, to build an altar unto the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people.
22 Aravna, “Efendim kral uygun gördüğünü alıp RAB'be sunsun” dedi, “İşte yakmalık sunu için öküzler ve odun için düvenlerle öküzlerin takımları!
And Araunah said unto David, Let my lord the king take and offer up what seems good unto him: behold, here be oxen for burnt sacrifice, and threshing instruments and other instruments of the oxen for wood.
23 Ey kral, Aravna bütün bunları sana veriyor.” Sonra ekledi: “RAB Tanrın senden hoşnut olsun!”
All these things did Araunah, as a king, give unto the king. And Araunah said unto the king, The LORD your God accept you.
24 Ne var ki kral, “Olmaz!” dedi, “Senden malını kesinlikle bir ücret karşılığında satın alacağım. Çünkü Tanrım RAB'be karşılığını ödemeden yakmalık sunular sunmam.” Böylece Davut harman yerini ve öküzleri elli şekel gümüş karşılığında satın aldı.
And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of you at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which does cost me nothing. So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.
25 Davut orada RAB'be bir sunak kurup yakmalık sunuları ve esenlik sunularını sundu. RAB de ülkeyle ilgili yakarıyı yanıtladı ve salgın hastalık İsrail'den kaldırıldı.
And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was implored for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel.
