1 Ɛberɛ a Dawid bɔɔ akɔkoraa no, ɔyii ne babarima Salomo sɛ ɔno na ɔbɛdi Israel so ɔhene.
So when David was old and full of days, he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
2 Dawid frɛfrɛɛ Israel amanyɛ ntuanofoɔ nyinaa ne asɔfoɔ, a Lewifoɔ ka ho sɛ, wɔmmra ahensie afahyɛ no ase.
And he assembled all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
3 Wɔkanee Lewifoɔ a wɔadi mfirinhyia aduasa anaa deɛ ɛboro saa, na wɔn nyinaa dodoɔ yɛ mpem aduasa nwɔtwe.
Now the Levites were numbered from the age of thirty years and upward: and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty and eight thousand.
4 Na Dawid kaa sɛ, “Wɔn mu mpem aduonu ɛnan bɛhwɛ Awurade Asɔredan no ho adwuma so. Mpem nsia bɛsom sɛ mpanimfoɔ ne atemmufoɔ.
Of which, twenty and four thousand [were] to oversee the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand [were] officers and judges:
5 Mpem ɛnan bɛyɛ apono ano ahwɛfoɔ na mpem ɛnan foforɔ de nnwontodeɛ a mayɛ no bɛkamfo Awurade.”
Moreover, four thousand [were] porters; and four thousand praised the LORD with the instruments which I made, [said David], to praise [with them].
6 Na Dawid kyekyɛɛ Lewifoɔ no mu akuakuo de mmusuakuo a wɔyɛ Lewi mmammarima Gerson, Kohat ne Merari asefoɔ no din totoo wɔn so.
And David divided them into courses among the sons of Levi, [namely], Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
7 Gerson mmammarima ne: Libni ne Simei.
Of the Gershonites, [were], Laadan and Shimei.
8 Libni asefoɔ no mu baasa yɛ: Yehiel (a ɔyɛ abusuapanin), Setam ne Yoɛl.
The sons of Laadan: the chief [was] Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
9 Yeinom na na wɔyɛ Libni abusua no mpanimfoɔ. Na Simei asefoɔ baasa no ne Selomot, Hasiel ne Haran.
The sons of Shimei; Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These [were] the chief of the fathers of Laadan.
10 Simei asefoɔ baanan a wɔaka no ne: Yahat, Sisa, Yeus ne Beria.
And the sons of Shimei [were], Jahath, Zina, and Jeush and Beriah. These four [were] the sons of Shimei.
11 Na Yahat yɛ ɔbapanin, na Sisa di Yahat akyi. Wɔfaa Yeus ne Beria sɛ abusua baako, ɛfiri sɛ, na wɔn mu biara nni mmammarima dodoɔ.
And Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the second: but Jeush and Beriah had not many sons; therefore they were in one reckoning, according to [their] father's house.
12 Na Amram, Ishar, Hebron ne Usiel ka Kohat asefoɔ no ho.
The sons of Kohath; Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
13 Amram mmammarima yɛ: Aaron ne Mose. Wɔyii Aaron ne nʼasefoɔ sɛ wɔnni nneɛma kronkron no ho dwuma, na wɔmmɔ afɔdeɛ wɔ Awurade anim, nsom Awurade, na wɔnhyira wɔ ne din mu daa daa.
The sons of Amram; Aaron and Moses: and Aaron was separated, that he should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons for ever, to burn incense before the LORD, to minister to him, and to bless in his name for ever.
14 Mose a ɔyɛ Onyankopɔn onipa no deɛ, wɔde ne mmammarima kaa Lewi abusuakuo ho.
Now [concerning] Moses the man of God, his sons were named of the tribe of Levi.
15 Mose mmammarima no yɛ Gersom ne Elieser.
The sons of Moses [were], Gershom, and Eliezer.
16 Na Sebuel a ɔyɛ abusuapanin no ka Gersom asefoɔ no ho.
Of the sons of Gershom; Shebuel [was] the chief.
17 Na Elieser wɔ ɔbabarima baako a wɔfrɛ no Rehabia a na ɔyɛ abusuapanin. Na Rehabia mmammarima yɛ bebree.
And the sons of Eliezer [were], Rehabiah the chief. And Eliezer had no other sons; but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
18 Na Selomit a ɔyɛ abusuapanin no ka Ishar asefoɔ no ho.
Of the sons of Izhar; Shelomith the chief.
19 Na Yeria a ɔyɛ abusuapanin, Amaria a ɔdi hɔ, Yahasiel a ɔtɔ so mmiɛnsa ne Yekameam a ɔtɔ so ɛnan no ne Hebron mmammarima no.
Of the sons of Hebron; Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jehaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
20 Na Mika a ɔyɛ abusuapanin ne Yisia a ɔdi hɔ no yɛ Usiel asefoɔ no.
Of the sons of Uzziel; Micah the first, and Jesiah the second.
21 Na Mahli ne Musi yɛ Merari mmammarima. Mahli mmammarima ne: Eleasa ne Kis.
The sons of Merari; Mahli, and Mushi. The sons of Mahli; Eleazar, and Kish.
22 (Eleasa wuiɛ a wanwo mmammarima biara, na mmom, mmammaa nko ara. Ne mmammaa no warewaree wɔn nuanom a wɔyɛ Kis mmammarima.)
And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters: and their brethren the sons of Kish took them.
23 Musi mmammarima baasa no din de: Mahli, Eder ne Yeremot.
The sons of Mushi; Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
These [were] the sons of Levi after the house of their fathers; [even] the chief of the fathers, as they were counted by number of names by their polls, that did the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from the age of twenty years and upward.
25 Na Dawid kaa sɛ, “Awurade, Israel Onyankopɔn ama yɛn asomdwoeɛ, na daa ɔbɛtena Yerusalem.
For David said, The LORD God of Israel hath given rest to his people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem for ever;
26 Afei, ɛho nhia sɛ Lewifoɔ no bɛsoa Ahyiaeɛ Ntomadan no ne ne nkuku ne ne nkaka de adi atutena.”
And also to the Levites: they shall no [more] carry the tabernacle, nor any vessels of it for its service.
27 Sɛdeɛ Dawid no ara akwankyerɛ a ɛtwa toɔ no seɛ no, ɛsɛ sɛ wɔtwerɛ Lewifoɔ a wɔadi mfirinhyia aduonu ne deɛ ɛboro saa nyinaa din ma ɔsom.
For by the last words of David the Levites [were] numbered from twenty years old and above:
28 Na Lewifoɔ no adwuma ne sɛ, wɔbɛboa asɔfoɔ no a wɔyɛ Aaron asefoɔ no wɔ ɔsom nnwuma a wɔyɛ wɔ Awurade fie no mu. Afei, wɔbɛhwɛ adihɔ ne adan a ɛwɔ nkyɛnkyɛn no so. Na wɔbɛboa ahodwira nnwuma mu, na wɔasom akwan ahodoɔ so wɔ Onyankopɔn efie.
Because their office [was] to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;
29 Na wɔhwɛ burodo kronkron a wɔkora no didipono so no, asikyiresiam a wɔayam no muhumuhu a wɔde bɔ aduane afɔdeɛ, taterɛ a mmɔreka nni mu, ɔfam a wɔde ngo dua sradeɛ akye ne burodo afoforɔ a wɔde afrafra no so. Afei, na wɔn asɛdeɛ bi nso ne sɛ, wɔhwɛ nsania ne susudua nso so.
Both for the show-bread, and for the fine flour for meat-offering, and for the unleavened cakes, and for [that which is baked in] the pan, and for that which is fried, and for all manner of measure and size;
30 Na anɔpa ne anwummerɛ biara nso, wɔgyina Awurade anim to aseda ne nkamfo nnwom ma no.
And to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at evening;
31 Wɔboa ɔhyeɛ afɔdeɛ a wɔbɔ ma Awurade homeda ahodoɔ mu wɔ Ɔbosome Foforɔ Afahyɛ mu ne nnapɔnna nyinaa ho dwumadie mu. Ɛberɛ biara, na Lewifoɔ dodoɔ a ɛfata wɔ hɔ a wɔsom Awurade anim.
And to offer all burnt-sacrifices to the LORD on the sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the order commanded to them, continually before the LORD:
32 Ɛno enti, Lewifoɔ no a na wɔsom wɔ Ahyiaeɛ Ntomadan no mu kɔɔ so somm wɔ Asɔredan no mu. Na wɔde nokorɛdie yɛɛ wɔn som no nnwuma wɔ Awurade efie.
And that they should keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the holy [place], and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in the service of the house of the LORD.
