2 до коринтян 3
1 Чи нам же починати внов самих себе поручати? або треба нам, як яншим, поручальних листів до вас, чи од вас поручальних (листів?).
Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or do we need, as some, commendatory letters to you, or [commendatory] from you?
2 Ви наше посланнє, написане в серцях наших, котре знають і читають усї люде.
Ye are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read of all men,
3 (А й надто) ви явлені, що ви посланнє Христове через служеннє наше, написане не чернилом, а Духом Бога живого, не на камяних скрижалях, а на тілесних скрижалях серця.
being manifested to be Christ's epistle ministered by us, written, not with ink, but [the] Spirit of [the] living God; not on stone tables, but on fleshy tables of [the] heart.
4 Надїю ж таку маємо через Христа до Бога,
And such confidence have we through the Christ towards God:
5 бо ми не в силї самі від себе що думати, яко із себе; а сила наша від Бога,
not that we are competent of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves, but our competency [is] of God;
6 котрий і дав нам силу бути слугами нового завіту, не букви, а духа; буква бо вбиває, а дух животворить.
who has also made us competent, [as] ministers of [the] new covenant; not of letter, but of spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit quickens.
7 Коли ж служеннє смерти, письмом вирізане на каміннях, було в славі, так що сини Ізраїлеві не могли дивитись на лице Мойсейове задля слави лиця його Минущої,
(But if the ministry of death, in letters, graven in stones, began with glory, so that the children of Israel could not fix their eyes on the face of Moses, on account of the glory of his face, [a glory] which is annulled;
8 як же не більше служеннє духа буде в славі?
how shall not rather the ministry of the Spirit subsist in glory?
9 Бо коли служеннє осуду - слава, то геть більше служеннє правдї багатше славою?
For if the ministry of condemnation [be] glory, much rather the ministry of righteousness abounds in glory.
10 Бо й не прославилось прославлене в тій мірі, задля переважуючої слави.
For also that [which was] glorified is not glorified in this respect, on account of the surpassing glory.
11 Коли бо те, що минає, в славі, то багато більше в славі те, що пробуває.
For if that annulled [was introduced] with glory, much rather that which abides [subsists] in glory.
12 Маючи оце таке впованнє, уживаємо велику волю,
Having therefore such hope, we use much boldness:
13 а не яко ж Мойсей, що клав покривало на лице своє, щоб сини Ізраїлеві не дивились на конець минущого.
and not according as Moses put a veil on his own face, so that the children of Israel should not fix their eyes on the end of that annulled.
14 Та осьліпились думки їх: бо аж до сього дня те ж покривало в читанню старого завіту зостаєть ся невідкрите, котре в Христї зникає.
But their thoughts have been darkened, for unto this day the same veil remains in reading the old covenant, unremoved, which in Christ is annulled.
15 Нї, аж до сього дня, коли читаєть ся Мойсея, покривало на серцї їх лежить.
But unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil lies upon their heart.
16 Як же обернуть ся до Господа, здіймаєть ся покривало.
But when it shall turn to [the] Lord, the veil is taken away.)
17 Господь же Дух; де ж Господень Дух, там воля.
Now the Lord is the Spirit, but where the Spirit of [the] Lord [is, there is] liberty.
18 Ми ж усї відкритим лицем, поглядаючи як у дзеркало, на славу Господню, преобразуемось у той же образ від слави в славу, яко ж від Господнього Духа.
But we all, looking on the glory of the Lord, with unveiled face, are transformed according to the same image from glory to glory, even as by [the] Lord [the] Spirit.
