< Isaiah 13 >

1 Ọ̀rọ̀-ìmọ̀ tí ó kan Babeli èyí tí Isaiah ọmọ Amosi rí.
The burden of Babylon that Isaiah son of Amoz hath seen:
2 Gbé àsíá sókè ní orí òkè gbẹrẹfu, kígbe sí wọn, pè wọ́n láti wọlé sí ẹnu-ọ̀nà àwọn ọlọ́lá.
'On a high mountain lift ye up an ensign, Raise the voice to them, wave the hand, And they go in to the openings of nobles.
3 Mo ti pàṣẹ fún àwọn ẹni mímọ́ mi, mo ti pe àwọn jagunjagun mi láti gbé ìbínú mi jáde àwọn tí ń yọ̀ nínú ìṣẹ́gun mi.
I have given charge to My sanctified ones, Also I have called My mighty ones for Mine anger, Those rejoicing at Mine excellency.'
4 Gbọ́ ohùn kan ní àwọn orí òkè, gẹ́gẹ́ bí i ti ogunlọ́gọ̀ ènìyàn. Gbọ́ ìdàrúdàpọ̀ láàrín àwọn ìjọba, gẹ́gẹ́ bí i ti ìkórajọ àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè! Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ti kó ogun rẹ̀ jọ àwọn jagunjagun fún ogun.
A voice of a multitude in the mountains, A likeness of a numerous people, A voice of noise from the kingdoms of nations who are gathered, Jehovah of Hosts inspecting a host of battle!
5 Wọ́n wá láti ọ̀nà jíjìn réré, láti ìpẹ̀kun ọ̀run wá Olúwa pẹ̀lú àwọn ohun ìjà ìbínú rẹ̀, láti pa gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè náà run.
They are coming in from a land afar off, From the end of the heavens, Jehovah and the instruments of His indignation, To destroy all the land.
6 Ẹ hu, nítorí ọjọ́ Olúwa súnmọ́ tòsí, yóò sì wá gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìparun láti ọ̀dọ̀ Alágbára jùlọ.
Howl ye, for near [is] the day of Jehovah, As destruction from the Mighty it cometh.
7 Nítorí èyí, gbogbo ọwọ́ ni yóò rọ, ọkàn ẹnìkọ̀ọ̀kan yóò rẹ̀wẹ̀sì.
Therefore, all hands do fail, And every heart of man doth melt.
8 Ẹ̀rù yóò gbá wọn mú, ìrora àti ìpayínkeke yóò dìwọ́n mú, wọn yóò kérora gẹ́gẹ́ bí obìnrin tí ó ń rọbí. Ẹnìkínní yóò wo ẹnìkejì rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ìpayà ojú wọn á sì gbinájẹ.
And they have been troubled, Pains and pangs they take, As a travailing woman they are pained, A man at his friend they marvel, The appearance of flames — their faces!
9 Kíyèsi i, ọjọ́ Olúwa ń bọ̀ ọjọ́ búburú, pẹ̀lú ìbínú àti ìrunú gbígbóná— láti sọ ilẹ̀ náà dahoro, àti láti pa àwọn ẹlẹ́ṣẹ̀ inú rẹ̀ run.
Lo, the day of Jehovah doth come, Fierce, with wrath, and heat of anger, To make the land become a desolation, Yea, its sinning ones He destroyeth from it.
10 Àwọn ìràwọ̀ ojú ọ̀run àti ìkójọpọ̀ wọn kò sì ní fi ìmọ́lẹ̀ wọn hàn. Àṣẹ̀ṣẹ̀yọ oòrùn yóò di òkùnkùn àti òṣùpá kò ní fi ìmọ́lẹ̀ rẹ̀ hàn.
For the stars of the heavens, and their constellations, Cause not their light to shine, Darkened hath been the sun in its going out, And the moon causeth not its light to come forth.
11 Èmi yóò jẹ ayé ní ìyà nítorí ibi rẹ̀, àwọn ìkà nítorí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wọn. Èmi yóò fi òpin sí gààrù àwọn agbéraga èmi ó sì rẹ ìgbéraga àwọn aláìláàánú sílẹ̀.
And I have appointed on the world evil, And on the wicked their iniquity, And have caused to cease the excellency of the proud, And the excellency of the terrible I make low.
12 Èmi yóò jẹ́ kí ọkùnrin kí ó wọn ju ojúlówó wúrà lọ, yóò sì ṣọ̀wọ́n ju wúrà Ofiri lọ.
I make man more rare than fine gold, And a common man than pure gold of Ophir.
13 Nítorí náà èmi yóò jẹ́ kí àwọn ọ̀run kí ó wárìrì; ayé yóò sì mì tìtì ní ibùjókòó rẹ̀ láti ọwọ́ ìbínú Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun, ní ọjọ́ ìbínú gbígbóná rẹ.
Therefore the heavens I cause to tremble, And the earth doth shake from its place, In the wrath of Jehovah of Hosts, And in a day of the heat of his anger.
14 Gẹ́gẹ́ bí egbin tí à ń dọdẹ rẹ̀, gẹ́gẹ́ bí àgùntàn tí kò ní olùṣọ́, ọ̀kọ̀ọ̀kan yóò padà tọ àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀ lọ, ọ̀kọ̀ọ̀kan yóò sá padà sí ilẹ̀ abínibí i rẹ̀.
And it hath been, as a roe driven away, And as a flock that hath no gatherer, Each unto his people — they turn, And each unto his land — they flee.
15 Ẹnikẹ́ni tí a bá gbámú ni a ó wọ́ nílẹ̀ tuurutu, gbogbo àwọn tí ọwọ́ bá tẹ̀ ni yóò ti ipa idà kú.
Every one who is found is thrust through, And every one who is added falleth by sword.
16 Àwọn ọ̀dọ́mọdé wọn ni a ó fọ́ sí wẹ́wẹ́ níṣojú wọn, gbogbo ilẹ̀ wọn ni a ó kó àwọn aya wọn ni a ó sì bá dàpọ̀.
And their sucklings are dashed to pieces before their eyes, Spoiled are their houses, and their wives lain with.
17 Kíyèsi i, èmi yóò ru àwọn Media sókè sí wọn, àwọn tí kò bìkítà fún fàdákà tí kò sì ní inú dídùn sí wúrà.
Lo, I am stirring up against them the Medes, Who silver esteem not, And gold — they delight not in it.
18 Ọrùn wọn yóò ré àwọn ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin lulẹ̀; wọn kò ní ṣàánú àwọn ọ̀dọ́mọdé tàbí kí wọn síjú àánú wo àwọn ọmọdé.
And bows dash young men to pieces, And the fruit of the womb they pity not, On sons their eye hath no pity.
19 Babeli, ohun ọ̀ṣọ́ àwọn ìjọba ògo ìgbéraga àwọn ará Babeli ni Ọlọ́run yóò da ojú rẹ̀ bolẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí Sodomu àti Gomorra.
And Babylon, the beauty of kingdoms, The glory, the excellency of the Chaldeans, Hath been as overthrown by God, With Sodom and with Gomorrah.
20 A kì yóò tẹ̀ ibẹ̀ dó mọ́ tàbí kí á gbé inú rẹ̀ láti ìrandíran; ará Arabia kì yóò pa àgọ́ níbẹ̀ mọ́, olùṣọ́-àgùntàn kan kì yóò kó ẹran rẹ̀ sinmi níbẹ̀.
She doth not sit for ever, Nor continueth unto many generations, Nor doth Arab pitch tent there, And shepherds lie not down there.
21 Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn ẹranko igbó ni yóò dùbúlẹ̀ níbẹ̀, àwọn ajáko yóò kún inú ilé wọn, níbẹ̀ ni àwọn òwìwí yóò máa gbé níbẹ̀ ni àwọn ewúrẹ́ igbó yóò ti máa bẹ́ kiri.
And Ziim have lain down there, And full have been their houses of howlings, And dwelt there have daughters of an ostrich, And goats do skip there.
22 Ìkookò yóò máa gbó ní ibùba wọn, àwọn ajáko nínú arẹwà ààfin wọn.
And Aiim have responded in his forsaken habitations, And dragons in palaces of delight, And near to come [is] her time, And her days are not drawn out!
